  1. In addition to those, I'd recommend Flip-Flop, Night Thoughts and Enemy of the Daleks, with 7. The Maltese Penguin's also a lot of fun.
  2. Eisenberg must have impressed the hell out of them because I can't imagine someone saying "You know who'd be a good Lex Luthor?" and coming up with him. But I don't know how casting works so whatever, that could not be the case. Cautiously optimistic for now since pretty much all of them have been well cast up to now.
  3. I've only read the first trade so far but I really like it. I'm interested.
  4. I need this to be a full miniseries. Shame that IDW doesn't have the rights anymore, since they also have Dredd. Speaking of, Titan Comics now has the DW license. Wonder what this will do for distribution in the non-British market.
  5. The two of you had a hard task with this, since Edward Scissorhands is quite possibly my favorite non-superhero movie. When you said that you weren't going to change much of the plot, just streamline things a bit I wasn't so against that idea. While I really don't want to see a remake of this, since I don't think there's any team out there like Burton-Elfman-Depp at the top of their game. You made some really good choices, though, I especially like Guillermo del Toro directing.
  6. She wasn't supposed to be an Olsen though. Her name is Jenny Jurwich. I guess it's cause she's named J---y and works at the Daily Planet that there was confusion.
  7. This is the first regen I've seen after watching the Doctor's run from beginning to end as it was happening in real time. Personally I feel very melancholic, and it still hasn't fully set in yet. Whenever thinking back to that last scene, my brain can't reconcile the great writing with the heavy emotion. DAMN YOU INTERNET AGE FICTION! Same here Don. I got into DW late-2011, and I always had the feeling that Smith was going to be my Doctor. And now he is, so saying goodbye to him is so hard but ultimately I'm at peace now. Now, to get into Eleven's expanded universe stuff. This week they just fixed the problem I've had when they released that Doctor Who comic special written by Paul Cornell. I think it's a great shame that he never wrote an episode for Eleven.
  8. So yeah, Caves. Damn. I'm not sure if I can say that this is the best Doctor Who story ever, since I'm a New Who guy by default, but I can say it's the best of the Classic stuff I've seen so far.
  9. What do you guys think of Aunt May possibly not knowing? Her putting it together in the first one was one of my favorite things about it. Though I guess that could be Peter just not wanting to worry her. I hope it's that.
  10. So I just got my Caves of Androzani DVD, intending to only watch one episode since it's pretty late....yeah, the only thing that kept me from pressing play on Episode 3 is lack of sleep. I'll continue first thing in the morning.
  11. That reminds me of another positive to the 50th special. Now that the mystery of the Impossible Girl has been revealed, we can now see the Doctor treating Clara more like a friend and less like a puzzle.(Which I personally never saw, but that could be to do with Matt and Jenna's chemistry.)
  12. From Moffat "I’ve been really, really quite careful about the numbering of the Doctors. He’s very specific, the John Hurt Doctor, that he doesn’t take the name of the Doctor. He doesn’t call himself that. He’s the same Time Lord, the same being as the Doctors either side of him, but he’s the one who says, ‘I’m not the Doctor.’ So the Eleventh Doctor is still the Eleventh Doctor, the Tenth Doctor is still the Tenth…Technically, if you really counted it, the David Tennant Doctor is two Doctors, on account of the Meta-Crisis Doctor [in Journey's End]… It’s not a matter of counting the regenerations, but of counting the faces of the Time Lord that calls himself the Doctor. There’s an anomaly Doctor slotted in somewhere, that’s all. In the script to The Day of the Doctor, Matt’s Doctor was called the Eleventh, and David’s was called the Tenth, so the numbering stays exactly the same – and we call Peter Capaldi the Twelfth Doctor."
  13. One thing I've read about River's reaction to Rory at the prison is that maybe it's just after she saw them get sent back to the past by the Weeping Angels. Another Classic Who connection I think I picked up on in A Good Man Goes to War was the music when the Doctor puts on the hood again. It could just be me, but it had a bounciness(I guess?) that felt like Classic Who music.
  14. At some points we hear echoes after Eleven speaks and apparently these are previous Doctors. Paul McGann confirmed on his Twitter that he did dub over Smith's narration. I think the one who said "lives" ten seconds in was Peter Davison, but I'm not too sure. Cool trailer thing or story point?

    DC reboot

I'm happy that they're getting another series though. I'm 99% sure I'm picking that up.

So, DC wants you to draw Harley committing suicide, naked, for them. http://www.dccomics.com/node/305151 Do I even want to support their Harley book at this point? I mean, Conner and Palmiotti are writing it, and they have a respect for their characters but it seems DC doesn't.
  17. Please. More than any other character I want Carol on-screen. Maybe being friends with Rhodey, too.
  18. $1.05 for a 22 page comic today...Man. I would be just as broke as I am today, but with much more to show for it. Anyways, Brave and the Bold sounds like a fun crazy book to read. I should try reading a few Aparo and Haney issues sometime. Mostly for the art. I've seen a couple scans online and man oh man, did Aparo draw pretty pictures. Great first episode, Mike and Dan! Always awesome to have you two together!
  19. Just saw Charade with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Freaking loved it. So much fun and so witty. At this point I've seen five of her movies and I'd rank them: 1. Funny Face - Mostly for the songs. I watch the numbers when I'm having a bad day. 2. Charade 3. How To Steal A Million - Another really fun one. 4. Wait Until Dark - Very suspenseful stuff. 5. Breakfast at Tiffany's - I have some fun with this but it mostly doesn't stick with me.
  20. Edward Scissorhands is my favorite. That movie speaks to me on a deep emotional level. Sweeney Todd is a close second. Special mention to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was the only Burton movie I loved as a kid. Ed Wood is a really good movie but I hesitate to call that his best because there's not really any trace of the Burton style in it. Not that it would make sense to have the weird visuals and the gothic music but I think for something to be the best Tim Burton movie it has to be done in his style. That's why I'm going with Big Fish as his best.
  21. So, apparently we have a Batman for MOS 2.
  22. I've had that for the longest time but I still haven't made the time to watch it. Odd, since Mark Hamill's a personal hero of mine. I should probably watch it today.

Conner and Palmiotti are doing a Harley Quinn solo book. On one hand, New 52 Harley. On the other hand, CONNER AND PALMIOTTI ON A HARLEY BOOK
  24. Ooh! I always thought she'd make a good companion, but as the Doctor....I'd like to see that.
  25. Listening to all the talk about Matt and the clips and everything got me emotional. Matt's my Doctor and this is my first time having to deal with a regeneration as it happens. "11 is 7 done right" I never made the connection but that makes perfect sense. I guess that's why they're my favorites from their respective eras.
