    Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis has made a splash in the mainstream media. The following links are all the same article; I am providing them to show how wide the story has been distributed. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5945544/ http://www.detnews.com/2004/books/0409/10/c01-269163.htm http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/LondonFreePr.../10/622582.html http://www.htnext.com/news/7087_998263,00870000.htm The characters who die in this one will, unlike Superman, need to STAY dead. Otherwise, it will kill (pun intended) the impact of this story.
  2. This looks pretty cool. The Best Buy ad this week says it comes with a movie ticket for the sequel!
  3. And, yes, I am a geek who overanalyzes everything.
  4. In the dream world, Freddy. In the real world, it depends on Freddy's power level. In "Nightmare" 2 and 3, Freddy had the ability to use some of his powers (like telekinesis and pyrokinesis) in the "real world". In "Freddy vs. Jason", he was not that strong. (Indeed, it took him a while to be strong enough to kill in the dream world.) My thought is that Freddy is a psychic being that resides on the astral plane, like the Shadow King of the X-Men books. Freddy is an empath who feeds on the fear of his victims to become more powerful. If he feeds on enough psychic energy, he can impact the real world. If Freddy's at a point where he can do that, it's all over for Jason, in the dream (astral plane) or in the "real world".
  5. That is possible. But some people are psychopaths. What can explain such an evil act? What can explain Dahmer, Bundy, Manson, or Gacy? What can explain the actions of Ivy Likens, detailed here? What can explain this kind of evil? "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." Genesis 6:5-6.
  6. I think summer vs. spring release is a big part of it. Also consider the advertising for Catwoman and the name ID of Halle Berry. Here's the next question: How much was the budget for Catwoman vs. Punisher? We know Catwoman lost a ton of money, but what about Punisher?
  7. I think Batman figures out what Daredevil's weakness is and takes him down. If in their initial fight Daredevil's getting the best of Batman, then Batman beats a hasy retreat, plans for their next confrontation, and then wins.
  8. Predator. If it's a facehugger and it lays an egg inside the Predator, the Predator will be awake long enough after the implantation to realize he's been tainted and set off the nuke. If it's a full grown Alien, the Predator wins as well.
  9. If I recall correctly, it was said in Predator 2 that he didn't kill her because she was pregnant. I haven't seen it in a long time, though, so I could be wrong.
  10. I've got a mini-review up on my blog. Warning: spoilers are included.
  11. The ending screams "sequel". I liked the part where the Predator decided not to kill the CEO because he had lung cancer... it would not be "honorable", I guess. It reminded me of the scene in "Predator 2" where he spared the female cop because she was pregnant.
  12. Saw it today. There are continuity problems with the other half-dozen films. It would have been better set in the future. Beyond that, it's enjoyable.

    Identity Crisis

Just read #3 today. If you can pick it up, do so. Excellent story, and the fight between Deathstroke and the JLA was awesome.
  14. Two words: capital punishment.
  15. I just marked out at the memory! Are you talking about combat for the Atari 2600? You could play as tanks, biplanes and jets. I don't remember if there were any other vehicles.
  16. And they needed it to be PG-13 so they could get teen boys in addition to men. Problem is, they based the entire reason to see the film on Halle Berry wearing next to nothing. From what I've read, they forgot to make a movie to go with the skimpy costume. Granted, I haven't seen the movie, and don't really plan to. The box office numbers give me reason enough not to.
  17. Tetris, with a disclaimer: I'm talking about the original Tetris, put out be Tengen for the NES. It was 2-player simultaneous, and thus was far superior to Nintendo's version. However, both versions of Tetris beat Dr. Mario.
  18. NES, though I had serious second thoughts when the SMS had 2-player simultaneous Double Dragon whereas the NES was 2-player alternating.
  19. Just showing who what the opposition is thinking. Remember, Indianapolis is the city that passed a law banning underage kids from playing violent games in arcades, like the Mortal Kombat series. Yeah, video games are violent, but any more so than the movies & TV kids watch? I don't think so.

  21. Spider-Man. He's faster, more agile, and way too strong for DD.
  22. Doesn't Jason "cheat" too? How many times do his victims see him coming? Often, he'll strike out of nowhere, kill someone, and it's over. Jason even killed that guy in a wheelchair in part 2 by surprising him with a machete shot to the face.
  23. Metal. The unbreakable bones and the claws that can cut through anything are too much a part of the Wolverine character to take away. I don't think it should cake him invulnerable. He can still be put in danger wioth a good writer. Having his flesh incinerated in "Days of Future Past" showed that you don't need to break his bokes to kill him.

    Venom v Carnage

The art looks great, but I'm wary of Venom because I've been dissapointed by many of the Venom series I've read. I may pick up #1 (if it isn't sold out) and take a look.
