  1. Sounds like a "bait and switch" to me. Respectfully wondering if Marvel borrowed the people who wrote WWE's "Billy and Chuck" storyline,

    Nightwing v Daredevil

Nightwing, trained by and a former partner of the Batman, will figure out that DD is blind and has enhanced senses. Nightwing finds a way to disrupt DD's senses, particularly his hearing. Still, Nightwing isn't Batman, and DD is an experienced fighter. It's a tossup, but for this particular fight at this particular time, Nightwing wins, barely. The next time the two meet, though, the result may well be different.
  3. I watched "Star Wars: Episode II" this week, which brought up a question regarding the consistency of the storyline. Basically, here is the story so far. Senator Palpatine of Naboo is secretly Darth Sideous, a Dark Lord of the Sith. Palpatine engineers an invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation. The crisis that follows in the Galactic Senate results in Palpatine being elected as Supreme Chancellor, with expanded powers. This, of course, is the first the to becoming Emperor. Palpatine betrays the Trade Federation, sending them to Count Dooku to plan secession from the Republic. Count Dooku is secretly Darth Tryannus, another Sith Lord. Playing both sides against each other, Dooku and Palpatine hoodwink the Senate into granting Palpatine "emergency" powers far beyond his previous expanded powers. Palpatine then orders the creation of an "Army of the Republic". These are the clones that will eventually become Imperial Storm Troopers. Here's the problem. An alien race began creation of the Clone Army ten years earlier. Other than some suspicion from Obi-Wan Kenobi and other Jedi about halfway though the movie, no one seems to question the use of these clones later on when they become the Army of the Republic, especially when Yoda shows up with the army to save the day. Shouldn't the fact that this army was in production for the last ten years have raised a red flag?
  4. I saw it too, and I'm surprised they put "Ultimate Galactus" right there on the cover.

    Wolverine v Freddy

Yes. Once Freddy's physical body is destroyed, he reverts to the astral plane... and attacks Wolverine the next night. Even if Wolverine slices Freddy up night after night, he can't kill a psychic being. To really take Freddy down, permanently, he'll need his mentalist allies.

    Wolverine v Freddy

I already explained why Batman would beat Freddy, while Wolverine cannot. :toothy:

    Wolverine v Freddy

Batman would whip up some kind of a device that interferes with psychic powers. More than likely, he's already got something like that to take down Martian Manhunter. He simply uses it on Freddy instead. Batman beats Freddy, but Wolverine would need help.
  8. Hmmm. Can they do anything else with this series? Other than make Jason's victims something other than one-dimensional caricatures that cause the audience to breathe a sign of relief when they are killed and no longer annoying innocent movie-goers? Respectfully thinking I answered my own question,

    Wolverine v Freddy

At the end of the day, this is a psychic battle, on the astral plane. Wolverine is used t physical confrontations, but not psychic ones. Freddy, having fought another enemy (Jason) with regenerative powers, realizes what he's dealing with and takes Logan apart. Ripped to shreds and left for dead, Logan takes weeks to heal this time. Freddy wins. Aftermath: Wolverine escapes Springfield, heads back to X-Men HQ and explains what is going on. Professor X, Pheonix, Emma Frost, and Psylocke head to Springfield to take Freddy down. Kruger, facing four psychics that are each more powerful than he, has no chance and is destroyed once and for all.

    Thor v Superman

Actually, that was mine. In a fight where the two warriors are evenly matched, as Thor & Superman are, that weakness is the one edge that pushed Thor to victory.
  11. True enough, but it would be cool to see the Punisher as a bad guy in a super-hero movie. Didn't the Punisher appear in 1974? Death Wish was the same year.

    Thor v Superman

JLA/Avengers aside, Thor wins because Superman is vulnerable to magic. It's not an easy win for Thor because of Superman's speed and heat vision, but Superman's weakness to magic proves to be his downfall. After they are teleported back and defeat their respective enemies, Superman and Thor round up the JLA and the Avengers, who team up and thrash Mojo. Mojo then decides to stick with playing an Atari 2600 he bought off eBay rather than anger those two teams again.
  13. Well, Punisher's first appearance was in a Spidey book. Punisher as the next Spider-Man bad guy? I think it could be fun to watch. It's certainly more appealing that another Punisher movie, since Punisher was basically a rip off of Death Wish and its' clones.
  14. Here's an idea. Cast Joanie Laurer ("Chyna") as Wonder Woman. :puke:

    What are you reading?

    Right now, Green Lantern: Rebirth.
  16. Cap wins. He's not as worn out as Batman was, and the Super-Soldier serum makes Cap much more able to bounce back than Batman. Finally, Cap was confident enough to go take down Zemo on his own, knowing what Zemo is capable of, so he's not as tired as Bane might think. Cap also took down Promethius (sp?) in Avengers vs. JLA, and P. is more dangerous than Bane. Cap has fought opponents with superhuman strength before. Had Bane been able to launch a surprise attack and get Cap reeling before he knew what was going on, Bane would be the favorite to win this fight. With this set-up, Cap comes out bloody, bruised, and in need of medical attention, but Bane still loses.
  17. What about Halle Berry?
  18. Robocop is a cyborg, and needs the human host body to continue to function. Terminator shoots Robocop in the mouth, takes off Robocop's mask, and finishes him off. A quirk in the space-time continuum opens a wormhole that sends the T-800 back to the exact moment where an asteroid strikes and kills the dinosaurs. T-800 is vaporized. Timeline remains unchanged.
  19. Joker is too used to Batman, who will stop short of killing him every time. Punisher is just as homicidal as the Joker, and this is the end of the clown prince of crime.

    Identity Crisis

I skimmed through the series and thought this would be fun to talk about again. I'm casting a null vote to avoid biasing later results.
  21. Mix it up. Throw in some two-on-one or three-way fights, etc. Add hostage situations. There are dozens of possibilities, and some old fights can be revamped and re-submitted to the group.
  22. I don't recall ever playing it, so I can't say there is anything wrong with it. The original NES game was just plain fun. But Dave was just useless. What a loser.
  23. Looks like I've missed several episodes. Is the series going to be collected on DVD?
  24. Null vote. I chose PS2 over GameCube. If/when RE4 comes out for PS2 I'll let you know.
