  1. The Friday series was never big on continuity anyway. If it helps, consider it an "elseworlds" story or something.
  2. I agree. It makes the company look really stupid to list them by their character's name. I mean, really: you didn't see Pierce Brosnan listed as Remington Steele.
  3. Finding out where the bad guy has been hiding in "Saw".
  4. IMDB says this thing is 72 minutes. 72 minutes is too short. It's definately on my list to see, but 72 minutes? come on. If you have read The Ultimates, she's a lot more than "kind of". She's the character you really want to see bad things happen to.
  5. http://www.theindychannel.com/news/7163161/detail.html Indy Officials Call '25 To Life' Game Dangerous POSTED: 4:58 pm EST February 17, 2006 UPDATED: 7:54 pm EST February 17, 2006 INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis public officials are speaking out against a video game they say promotes violence against law enforcement. The game "25 To Life" features graphic scenes of shooting at police officers and taking civilians as human shields. Despite a push to keep the game off store shelves, it is readily available at area retailers after it was released last month, 6News' Tanya Spencer reported. Indianapolis police want parents to be aware of the game and to know the game is not appropriate for children. **SNIP** The game sells for $39.99. Some local stores told 6News it is already being traded by many gamers, but not because of the violence. Gamers don't think it's a very good game.
  6. How does time work in comics? Time works however the writer needs it to work for the purposes of the story. I gave up trying to understand it a long time ago.

    SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006

This is on several web sites as the way to unlock Jake "The Snake" Roberts. This is lame! There are a lot of PS2 owners who don't have and don't indend to buy a PSP. It is silly that the game would require the purchase of another game and another game system to unlock something in SvR '06. :grumble:

    SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006

I rented it, and liked it enough that I bought it. It truly is the best wrestling game since No Mercy.
  9. Write the column, but include a full disclosure. Let the audience make their own decision based on your arguments through the lens of the disclaimer.
  10. I have the Mega Man collection for the PS2 and it is a lot of fun. It really shows how good these games were when they stack up well against modern games. The Mega Man X collection is definately on my radar screen for an upcoming purchase.
  11. I refer to my post in the other thread.
  12. More on Grand Theft Auto. CNN reports that the city attorney's office in Los Angeles is suing the makers of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas". Once again, Rockstar Games is being accused of misleading people due to the infamous hidden sex scene in GTA. But was Rockstar games really misleading anyone when GTA was released? The following is the description under the rating for GTA: "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs." This was for the "M" rated version, which is comparable to an "R" rating in movies. GTA has since been upgraded to an "AO", which is comparable to NC-17. Following is the rating for "Monster's Ball", which features a graphic sex scene involving Halle Berry: "Rated R for strong sexual content, language and violence." Notice any similar phrases? What is the point? Video games often get a bad rap, while movies and television do not get as much scrutiny for the content of their product. Democrats are especially guilty of focusing on video games while having blinders to what is coming out of Hollywood, As I said in my radio editorial on WFHB last month, I am sure this has absolutely nothing to do with significant campaign contributions to Democrats from Hollywood. Often, our public servants do not even have the complete facts about the video games they seek to restrict. Indiana State Senator Vi Simpson (D-Bloomington) issued a statement in which she said that "Right now, kids can walk into just about any store and get their hands on a video game in which they can... rape women". While I do not deny that video games are much more violent and have much more sexual content than during the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System, I do not know of any modern game that allows the player to engage in sexual assault. I questioned Senator Simpson about this via electronic mail and her legislative aide was unable to provide the name of one video game that allows the player to do that. The aide suggested that Sen. Simpson was misquoted. There are a lot of video games that are not appropriate for minors, just as there are a lot of movies that are not appropriate for minors. That is why the MPAA and the ESRB have ratings systems for their respective products. I do not see Senator Simpson proposing legislation to mandate that stores not sell R or NC-17 movies to people under 18, so why the focus on video games? Many stores such as Best Buy already strictly enforce the video game ratings system. Ultimately, parents are responsible for what the games their children play, the movies their children watch, and the music their children listen to. Passing more laws and expanding government not only will not solve the problem, but may actually make it worse by encouraging people to shift more responsibility for raising their children to the government. We have seen over the last several decades the devastating effect that has had on society.

    Infinite Crisis

OK, I did some looking and found the answer to my previous question. In any case, be sure to pick up IC #4. The battle between the two Superboys alone makes the issue worth the (steep) cover price.

    Final Fight is back!

Looks like it will be very similar to "The Warriors".
  15. I've only played E.T. and Superman 64.
  16. Superman 64 was truly bad, but "Total Recall" for the NES is probably the worst game I have ever played. It makes you wonder how these games got to market. Didn't some play-tester somewhere give them a clue that it was a horrible game?
  17. Unless something changes in the next 48 hours, I will be recording a "radio editorial" on Monday which will be broadcast Tuesday evening. I will be criticizing Senator Evan Bayh's attempt to further regulate the video game industry. I'm working on the editorial now.
  18. You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. This could be a cool series. I'm not a huge fan of the "ultimate" line, but I may pick this one up. Question: why do Hulk and Wolverine hate each other in the Ultimate universe?

    True Crime: New York City

I picked it up. So far, I actually think "Streets of L.A." played better, especially in the driving. I don't like using the "select" button for warning shots at all -- the R2 button worked much beter in SoLA. The storyline is MUCH more serious and there is a lot to do, though. It is a good game, but you may want to wait until the price drops in a few months.

    Infinite Crisis

OK, I know of two origins of Hawkman: He inherited the mantle, wings, etc. from ancient Egypt. He is from Thanagar and came to earth as a super hero. I have been more interested in the character since Identity Crisis, but I do not have any idea who in the blue Hades this one is. Is this the Hawkman from Ancient Egypt or Thanagar? If he is from ancient Egypt, is there any connection to Thanagar? Who is Hawkgirl and who is Hawkwoman? Can someone explain this to me?

    Infinite Crisis

OK. Superman is upset with Wonder Woman for killing Maxwell Lord. WW had to kill Lord because Lord was mentally controlling Superman and using him to beat Batman to death. Didn't Superman kill the three Phantom Zone criminals when he was stuck in an alternate reality? Didn't he kill them to keep them from crossing over into Superman's reality and ravaging Earth the way they ravaged their reality's Earth? Doesn't this make Superman a hypocrite? I don't know why killing Maxwell Lord was a big deal anyway; even the cops in Identity Crisis mentioned that bad guys keep coming back to life. It's not like anyone (other than Uncle Ben Parker) has ever stayed dead in comics.

    SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006

is anyone planning on getting this game? I rented Smackdown vs. Raw, but found I didn't like it as well as Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. I'll probably rent this one, to see if it worth buying.
  23. Is anyone planning to get this one? I enjoyed the first game and I am looking forward to the sequel. I can't beat that darn dragon, though.
  24. Spider-Man looks quite good, so if I were to get one of those three that would be it. I liked "Spider-Man 2" and I have read this is an improvement. True Crime: New York City is at the top of my list though.
