I think it's often forgotten how young Ennis was all through the run. He was 30 when Preacher wrapped. Of course he made mistakes. That said, Preacher is the purest smartest thing I think he's written. I'm no fan of his, but i unapologetically love Preacher.

The spoiler is such a saccharine piece of contrived storytelling I have a hard time believing it was Ennis.

I like the idea of Jesse taking some time off. I like Jesse as a lawman. I hate It's a mixed bag, I think. Good comics, but hurts for lack of regular characters.

If they never show his face, it can be written off as parody, I think.

Quincannon seems like a gender swapped version of Odin Quincannon, which is fine with me. I sincerely hope they don't leave out Jess's spirit guide.
