So, between my in-laws and my parents I got a not insignificant amount of money for my birthday. I used it to order a chef's coat and a nice mid-range chef's knife. Fast forward and my order is a week late. Amazon makes up for it by giving me the knife for free and sending me a second coat, which both arrived today. Pretty much awesome.

I don't like the look of the boots and stockings, but, I love that she's actually covered up. I would have no issue with my child wearing that exact costume for Halloween. And that's pretty rare in superhero media, for women.

Our head chef just put in his notice. My job has become a black hole of uncertainty and suck. On one hand, chaos is a ladder, and I may be able to gain some authority and a raise. On the other hand, being tasked with running the kitchen by committee in the interim is going to be awful and even worse, we have no idea what kind of new chef is gonna be hired. I'm actually working a job I find satisfying now, and for it to be in jeopardy terrifies me.

I think that's accurate. This was a huge revelation in 1997 and the fact that there have been a hundred very much like it in the years since have diluted its impact, but it still holds up as a damn good film. GODDAMMIT I was all ready to feel all old, too. But then I did the math and realized I was ten.

As I was catching up on Parks and Rec, I found Ron Swanson vs. Mike Ermahntraut: I just fear peed.

The worst film I have ever seen in a theater. I watched The Spirit in theatres.

Horns: I liked it, well enough. Pretty heavy handed in some places, but overall it's a good time. Surprisingly gory in some places, but then I found out it's a Joe Hill story and it all made sense. Radcliffe shows that he's not just Harry Potter, here too. His American accent is a little weak, but nothing unforgivable. Fifty Shades of Grey: Yup.

I recall watching that movie for my Arthurian Legends Class in College. I vaguely recall kind of liking it.
