Missy
Sorry for dragging my heels and putting us into a crunch, but I have a topic and a way to buy us more time before episode 1000 hits the site. Topic: Team-ups (and crossovers)! The reason I've chosen this for the 1000th episode is because The Show, the site, and the forums would not function and exist if not for every voice that's ever graced it. And that's how I want to celebrate this monumental show: by talking team-ups as a way to thank every single one of you. So what can we cover? Anything with momentous team-ups or crossovers. It's that simple. Examples would be: Comics Justice League of America #21 The Flash #123 Crisis on Infinite Earths (the biggest crossover / team-up ever) DC vs. Marvel JLA / Avengers Oni Press Color Special 2001 #1 The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Doomsday Clock #1 and 2 (the second issue is on sale at the end of December) Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man DC Special Series #27 (Batman vs. The Incredible Hulk) Superman vs. Muhammad Ali Spider-Man and Batman: Disordered Minds Joker / Mask Action Comics #894 (Lex Luthor and Death) Batman / Hellboy / Starman JLA: Year One Avengers #239 (David Letterman) Marvel Team-Up #74 (the SNL crew) Archie Meets the Punisher Batman vs Predator (and its sequels) The X-Men / Star Trek books The Uncanny X-Men and The New Teen Titans Transformers / GI Joe Movies Monster Squad The Avengers Justice League Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein King Kong vs Godzilla (or any of the Godzilla vs movies) Freddy vs Jason Alien vs Predator Star Trek Generations The LEGO Movie Wreck-It Ralph The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones The WWE / Hanna-Barbera cartoons The Batman Superman Movie: World's Finest TV Shows Batman '66 episodes with The Green Hornet and Kato (plus Harry Mudd) The Defenders (Netflix) The time Superman showed up on I Love Lucy The Simpsons / Family Guy episode Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue The Flash / Supergirl crossover Any of the Arrow-verse crossover events The Scooby-Doo / Batman crossovers Any of the Xena / Hercules crossovers The Incredible Hulk Returns The NightMan episode with Manimal The Batman vs. Dracula The Brady Kids episode with Superman and Wonder Woman (Thanks, Will, for mentioning this one on Twitter the other day.) That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana The final WCW Monday Nitro There have to be wrestling promotions that've done crossover / invasion angles (Not the manufactured WWF / WCW / ECW one, though I suppose a case could be made for it.) There could be a segment where someone dives deep into the Tommy Westphall Universe Hypothesis Video Games Marvel vs Capcom Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Street Fighter X Tekken Kingdom Hearts Super Smash Bros. Anime The two Lupin the 3rd / Detective Conan movies [ I'll need help with this one ] Literature A Study in Emerald [ I'm sure there are more ] But if someone wanted to discuss how all of the Stephen King novels are connected, that would fit the theme. Now, how can I buy us time? The 12 Days of Christmas begins on Christmas Day and runs through 05 January, not 14-25 December as people (including myself) mistakingly believe. That gives us all the way up to Wednesday 03 January to send everything my way. I'll then take the morning and evening of 04 January to put it together, posting episode 1000 the next day. The upcoming calendar will look like this: The Road to 1000 Saturday 25 November - 984: Toronto International Film Festival, part three Tuesday 28 November - 985: Toronto International Film Festival, part four Saturday 02 December - 986: Hannah and Jim Saturday 09 December - 987: Previews Saturday 16 December - 988: [ open slot ] The 12 Days of Christmas Monday 25 December - 989: 12 Days of Christmas, part one Tuesday 26 December - 990: 12 Days of Christmas, part two Wednesday 27 December - 991: 12 Days of Christmas, part three Thursday 28 December - 992: 12 Days of Christmas, part four Friday 29 December - 993: 12 Days of Christmas, part five Saturday 30 December - 994: 12 Days of Christmas, part six Sunday 31 December - 995: 12 Days of Christmas, part seven Monday 01 January - 996: 12 Days of Christmas, part eight Tuesday 02 January - 997: 12 Days of Christmas, part nine Wednesday 03 January - 998: 12 Days of Christmas, part ten Thursday 04 January - 999: 12 Days of Christmas, part eleven Friday 05 January - 1000: 12 Days of Christmas, part twelve So there we have it. Please post your thoughts and what you'd like to tackle. It can be from these lists or any crossover / team-ups you can think of. Just please let me know so no one steps on anyone else's toes. If you want to partner with someone new, reach out across the forums, Twitter, or through me if you can't get ahold of someone. Also: If you've never been on The Show but want to contribute a segment / review, reach out. I'm always open to new contributors and segments. ******** ******** ******* ******** EDIT Unfortunately I've had to cancel the 12 Days of Earth-2.net. All is explained in this post. This does not, however change the subject matter of episode 1000. In fact, it gives us much more time -- roughly two months -- to record segments for the episode. The Road to 1000 Tuesday 05 December - 987: Previews Saturday 09 December - 988: [ open slot ] Tuesday 12 December - 989: Two hours of Superman / Batman radio goodness Monday 25 December - 990: Holiday time! Tuesday 02 January - 991: [ secret ] Tuesday 09 January - 992: [ secret ] Tuesday 16 January - 993: [ secret ] Saturday 20 January - 994: [ secret ] Tuesday 23 January - 995: [ secret ] Saturday 27 January - 996: [ secret ] Tuesday 30 January - 997: [ secret ] Saturday 03 February - 998: [ secret ] Saturday 10 February - 999 [ secret ] Thursday 22 February - 1000: Team-Ups! Professor
The crossover/team-up that defined my childhood: Power Rangers (in Space) meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the next Mutation).
S-T
Mega congratulations on episode 1000. You said on the 5th anniversary that when you sat down with an iPod you never expected the site to grow as it has. Now, the volume of podcasts is even bigger. Great work Mike and everyone else. No one ever talks about DC vs Marvel, but I always view it as my Secret Wars. 1 hour ago, The Master said: The Simpsons / Family Guy episode Yikes 1 hour ago, The Master said: Marvel vs Capcom Love it. This would by my priority under Disordered Minds. 1 hour ago, The Master said: Anime There's a DBZ/One Piece/Toriko crossover that I could do with my TND partner Jesse Garrett. 1 hour ago, The Master said: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice @slothian and I should do this and finish each other off, once and for all
Donomark
'nother idea: The Steven Universe/Uncle Grampa crossover episode that 90% of the fandom hates. Anyone else down for that?
Donomark
Would talking about The Expendables count, Mike? Harry and I have an idea to that.
teenalphabro
I am absolutely down to talk about Stephen King books and movies.
teenalphabro
And I'm gonna kick myself for suggesting this, but I could also probably swing Nier/Drakengard, even though (technically) Nier's more of a spinoff than an actual crossover. jim
Hannah and I are interested in recording about these, with more potentially forthcoming: -Action 894 (the one where Paul Cornell writes Luthor, Joker and Death) -Kingdom Hearts (god help us) -Archie Vs. Predator -Maybe the Spidey/DD/Punisher done by Mark Waid/Greg Rucka/Marco Checetto (sp) that I enjoyed quite a bit Edited November 23, 2017 by jim Spidey/DD/Punisher

I hadn't thought about that kind of angle, but I like it. Go for it.
Mr Mockery
Finally, a legitimate reason to discuss Batman 66!
Pan-dub
I would love to talk about Smash Bros with someone, then play against them to add to the discussion. Failing that I can just talk about Smash Bros. A discussion of Shonen Jump Manga/Anime serials in a non weeaboo manner would be good to contribute to as well. teenalphabro
Also, I could probably cover some supergroups with someone. Probably Them Crooked Vultures and A Perfect Circle.

I might if I can find it. I'd be down as well, I've read all of Static and a fair amount of Icon. 2 hours ago, You Know Who said: 3 hours ago, Donomark said: Batman meets Sherlock Holmes (Detective Comics #572 and "Trials of the Demon!" episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold) Can I join you? Sure! It'll be you, me and Chris Johnson! 3 hours ago, The Master said: For my notes, are the first three being done solo? Chris and I are doing the Spider-Man/Batman crossovers. So at this point I've got going: Spider-Man/Batman: Myself and Chris Johnson Marvel vs. Capcom (I'll roll solo on it) Batman meets Sherlock Holmes (Detective Comics #572 and "Trials of the Demon!" episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold): Myself, Chris again and Christian Honore Godzilla vs. King Kong (with Harry) The Expendables series (with Harry) I'll ask my friend Jesse if he's up for the DBZ/One Piece crossover I mentioned earlier, and that'll be it. But for now, those five are set in stone.
