JackFetch
"Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on 'Bond 23' indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of 'Bond 23,'" stated Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli jointly. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=65332

slothian
As I said on facebook when Mike linked me to the story, let's not start crying "Dalton" just yet. Realistically, Eon productions can't do anything whilst they don't have the studio that acquired them (the protracted legal battle between EON & MGM leading to the Dalton/Brosnan handover, of course) in a stable position to offer up financing and distribution. Whilst this statement makes Wilson/Broccoli's position clear, there had not been any official confirmation of filming dates or even personnel outside of various Hollywood rumours & innuendo. I mean, Sam Mendes' name just got chucked into the mix as first the director and then as some kind of advisory role. At best, we had quotes from Craig & Dench saying when they anticipated they might be needed. As to how long this delays the next Bond, it really just depends on how quick people are to take up MGM. Before this statement, it was assumed that Bond 23 would be released in 2011. Now we're looking at 2012 onwards, and even if that is quite a gap from QOS, Dalton was 48 when he felt too old to still be Bond - Craig won't turn 48 until 2016. The delay isn't going to help the number of films he gets under his belt, but I can still see him coming back once the dust settles.

MaxPower
This could be resolved in 6 months, so I wouldn't make any hasty predictions just yet...

Ever. like I said yes I know I should get over that Brosnan will never be Bond again, but still I wish he would be in the role. It's just my opinion. I understand that they are going to go with someone that fits the character age range.
Koete
Agent 007 is renewing his license to kill. Previously derailed by MGM’s frequently reported financial troubles, Movie Web reports that the James Bond series is now back in action thanks to the resolution of the MGM situation. The studio will retain fifty percent of the rights to the Bond series, according to the report, with the intention of releasing the already delayed Bond 23 in November of 2012. Additionally, the studio intends to release one Bond film every other year following this latest installment. But there’s some question over whether or not the original team on Bond 23 will show up now that MGM’s financial troubles have been resolved. Leading man Daniel Craig, for instance, is currently shooting his role as crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and he’s committed to playing the role for the two other installments of the franchise. Between those films and a possible franchise in Cowboys & Aliens, not to mention the relatively tight time table on the next Bond film, it’s possible that Craig has already fulfilled his last mission as the well-dressed super spy. dc20willsave
Anything that gets us a new episode of For Your Ears Only. Maybe we'll be lucky, Gaga does the song, and Adham can belt it out for us. We could also be unlucky and get Ke$ha. I dunno, I seriously think a bad Bond song can really put you out of the mood to enjoy the movie that follows.
dc20willsave
Javier Bardem is playing the villain. It also sounds like the title is going to be Skyfall.
dc20willsave
The Title is definitely Skyfall, the film starts shooting today and it has been cast with Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe as the Bond girls, and a ton more info including a tease at a 50th anniversary documentary. Edited to add: We also have a plot. Putting it in spoilers, just in case. It's a plot blurb, barely spoilery but you never know. In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Source. I'll admit, I'm psyched for a story about M. I'm also kinda worried that this might be Judi Dench's swansong from the role.
