  1. Watching Weng Chiang now, its a good one. "Eureka is Greek for this bath is too hot"
  2. Try to construct a fictional scenario, something less incriminating.

I don't do AMV's but I can give you the following instructions- 1. Put your dvd copy of Street Fighter II V on constant loop & mute it. 2. Put the complete Nickelback collection on loop and play it. 3. Sit watching the screen and listening to the music until you a: Fall over b: Puke or c: Fall over and puke.

The game or just trying to see who can watch the film for the longest?

I was just trying to find that link again this week. If you mess with the balance on your sound you can actually turn the whole thing into one song that works quite well.

See, you don't get this when your favorite band is Skunk Anansie.
  7. Am now watching Destiny of the Daleks. Its awful. The Movellens look like disco oompa loopas, and Davros is a poor imitation of the original.
  8. He's a mob boss. He used to wear the mask as a gimmick but then he got horribly burned or something and now thats his face. Special skills- Quips, Sadism, has big fancy map o' Gotham.
  9. It does look awesome, I'm really annoyed that theres no UK release date yet. I guess once the acclaim kicks it it might get arthouse treatment.
  10. I'm more looking forward to the joint column between Dan and Yoda on cartoon boobies. I'm not confident that they'll ever get past the fact-finding stage of that one. Its like Earth-2's own Chinese Democracy.
  11. Disappointing week for me. Supergirl (a previous favorite) has an annoying new direction dictated by larger continuity, Deadpool wasn't funny, Red Robin was no-one I care about, Magog was pointless violence and Avengers/Invaders is officially fucking retarded (No I don't think that this is the book in which LMD rights should be explored, and no . The bright spots? Diggle on T-bolts is making this groups inevitable fracture very cool, and the wider post-SI implications for the Marvel U are interesting. It might have been the best book except for Invincible. Allen the Alien! Omni-man/Nolan! What surprise titan of this reality (or beyond) will join their prison break? Motherfunkin' Oh yeah! Not to mention this high action edition has some of the best Ottley art I've seen, and a reveal that could have huge implications for the entire universe! Yeah, I liked this issue.
  12. Theres already a precedent for more than 13 lives. The Master already used all his up and thats before we even get to the two versions we see in the modern show.
  13. Dan, this was a fantastic series, I'm really impressed with both the breadth of what was covered and the attention to detail whilst never really getting bogged own in any one era (except Baker, but if any period justified it). I'm pretty certain that this the the crown jewel of Who week (podcast to come of course) and an award winner come the end of the year. This might well be one of the best free articles I've ever read on a website. I'm especially looking forward to your 7 part 20,000 word series during Earth-2's Andromeda week thats coming up.
  14. Rock would be good as Black Adam, although the ancient origins and possible flashbacks migh whiff at bit too much of Scorpian King.
  15. For praise see my previous ball-swinging. Great stuff.
  16. Sometimes I realize that my problems are small compared to other peoples. Although I just spent two weeks running a job on a marine base outfitting a garage so they can fix their vehicles in time for their redeployment. If I was wherever they are going I wouldn't cause trouble, these marines are all 6ft+ and carry their rifles everywhere. The garage has Iraqi road signs on the wall and a statue of Saddam Hussein out back.
  17. Just bought Talons of Wiang Chang as well as the Troughton era story The Invasion. Looking forward to both immensely.
  18. I'll have to check that out, thanks. My personal list goes- 4, 9, 10, 3, 5, 6, 1, 2, 8, 7. I've seen at least a little of all of them, although the film performances by Peter Cushing in the role definitely informs my perception of the first Doctor. I've really seen quite a bit of Who due to BBC2 showing it Sunday lunchtimes throughout my childhood, but only a few older stories stick in my mind, such a Spearhead from Space, The Silurians and the Caves of Androzani.
  19. I think you'll start to see those less popular doctors in the 3rd installment. Fascinating stuff Dan, I'd really like to see a list of recommended stories if you've got some.

    Final Crisis

Well yes, but I'm presuming that the delay of the final issue is in fact some genius marketing move rather than any kind of real mistake.
  21. I absolutely bust a gut at Dan's George Lucas impersonation, great stuff.
  22. Shinmaru is getting older, presumably contrary to the rest of us? Maybe he's getting old faster, in which case why is his birthday the same every year? Shouldn't it move forward? Have a good one by the way.

    Final Crisis

Maybe Didio should have decided if he liked the ending before it was ready to publish. Say what you like about Final Crisis vs Secret Invasion, at least Marvel management has its act together.
  24. Good god, I can no longer mock Sarah Palin unless I'm laughing at her for being exactly as stupid as I am.
  25. Run slow, flee quickly. Are you saying I'm too old to be mistaken for jailbait? True. I only ask for vinegar on chips. It its completely true that the BBC has paid me more money than I have ever paid them.
