Dread
The kids could read whatever they wanted in the 1960s because those who published anything untoward were threatened with closure by the government. Yay for fascism.
SuaveStar
What is everyone arguing about again?
Molly
How much of Hollywood is aimed at the under 13 crowd? Because I'd say the majority of comics sit at PG-13, and I think that would be a fair comparison.
Dread
Yep.
Molly
What is everyone arguing about again? I wouldn't call it an argument, really. It's been a reasonably civil discussion about the use of violence in comics. (I was only sarcastic once!)
SuaveStar
Yeah, I use argument lightly here, I meant intense discussion, as you have you (Preston) on one side, and Koete and Dread on the other.
Dread
And Preston, Dubs and I all agree. The Seventh Seal's been broken.
Molly
Well, I'll be waiting for Cthulhu outside.
Guest
Preston and I agreeing isn't as rare as Preston would like to think. And I'm starting to agree with Des more and more lately, which is pretty scary.
SuaveStar
I'm reading the first trade of Billy Batson and the magic of Shazam right now, and it sort of feels like I'm being left out by not reading the Jeff Smith Shazam story. I know this was meant to be a follow up, but this just continues on, without actually telling the reader much of the story past that. This was just for the first issue, that drops you in, expecting you to have read the other book, but it was still a little annoying.
Koete
Whose side are you on in the colorist credit and royalty debate?
SuaveStar
I would say pay colourists who are good are that job more than those who suck at it.
Guest
Then they'd have to pay writers and artists for how good they are and half the industry would be broke.
SuaveStar
Then they'd have to pay writers and artists for how good they are and half the industry would be broke. True. It's a weird topic, as there is no way to actually settle it in a way to keep everyone happy.
SuaveStar
Preview of War of the Supermen #2 The art is quite bland and bad this time. I still don't care enough to even flip through this in the shop.
dc20willsave
Hey Mike, today's list at Topless Robot is right up your alley: The 20 Hottest Redheads (Guys and Gals) in Comics.
Missy
It's a good list, but MJ ranks too high. And where's Mystique?
prez
Good list, yes, but Babs will always be my No. 1. As a guy with a serious redhead weakness, some of the photos there, particularly of Babs... woah.
Missy
Hey, where was Guy on that list?!
Molly
And Red Hulk is... Thunderbolt Ross. And the crowd goes mild.
Dread
Knowing Loeb, I thought it would be Wolverine...
SuaveStar
Knowing Loeb, I thought it would be Wolverine... Just Wolverine? It would have been Wolverine with reveal involving Iron Man and Deadpool having to work together to find out what was going on in the situation, while having Spider-Man having to play the part of the crowd in the situation. Missy
SHOCK~! But haven't they been on the same page together?
Molly
It was him, Hulk and Len Samson. Samson never actually talked to him, Rulk was imagining himself there, I guess.
prez
It was him, Hulk and Len Samson. Samson never actually talked to him, Rulk was imagining himself there, I guess. UGH. Ya know, I assumed it would be him the whole time, but I thought they swerved me. Turned out I was just caught up in a mass of suck.
