  1. Who's your favorite actress to play the elusive Catwoman?
  2. Yeah, you'd figure WB would have wanted to put a teaser of their biggest film (next to the next Superman) before their newest film. Especially considering 01. not only are they both comic book characters, but 02. they're related!
  3. How very true! I almost wonder if they didn't show the trailer at CCI because Catwoman was released that same weekend and they didn't want it to overshadow their new release. Now, some people might be saying, "How would the teaser 'overshadow' Catwoman when only a scant few people would see it?" Simple: Word of its release would break over the Internet faster than... well, quite quickly. And, we can't deny it, most (if not all) comic book geeks are also so-called Internerds. Hearing of the Batman Begins trailer, we'd talk about it all weekend (and week) and 01. not bother spreading word-of-mouth reviews of Catwoman, or 02. forget about Catwoman altogether and completely skip the film. Truth be told, if they had it ready, I wonder why they didn't rush to run it before Catwoman.
  4. Custom Fields: Added four new customs fields for the profiles: Favorite Sci-Fi, Favorite Horror Films, Favorite Anime/Manga, and Favorite Comic Book Movies.
  5. I think what makes Henry so good is how real it is. Yes, I know it's based off a true story, but I mean how Henry could be anybody. He's not a burnt-to-death-demon-possessed nightmare killer or a hockey-mask-wearing dead child; he's a real guy that could be your neighbor or coworker. Jenny was so creeped out by this film that 01. she wanted to take it back to the video store right away (so the box wasn't in the house), and 02. refuses to let me purchase the DVD. And I have to agree with her when she calls it "depraved" and "void of all morality." (Which is why I love it.)
  6. Killer idea! I am, but mine is still a little ways off. With a $55 price tag, I really can't afford it right now, but I hope someone can.
  7. What comics, video games, site-related movies/DVDs, etc. do you guys want to see reviewed?
  8. How about Batman: Year One? Seriously, try The Long Halloween (set about Year Two) and its sequel Dark Victory (Year Three-ish). As I said before, I'm not a fan of Loeb's work, but most people seem to like these two titles. There's also Robin: Year One and Batgirl: Year One, if you happen to be fans of those characters.
  9. Rejoice, a release date has been set, and it's April 1st! Here's some news concerning the story. It will somehow be an amalgamation of The Hard Goodbye (original Sin City story), The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard. However, according to Rodriguez, the DVD will feature the complete versions of all three, separate stories! Poster time!
  10. Hush is not a Year One-type comic. It's set in current continuity. (Or did you mean year long?) I skimmed through it. (Lately, I hate reading monthlies, and prefer TPBs.) Honestly, I was impressed with Lee's art but I'm not a fan of Jeph Loeb, so I'm taking my sweet time in picking up the trade (or reading the single issues, which I have).
  11. By the way, I'm not going to move this to Versus because this isn't a fight, which is what that forum is for. This is just a contest to see who the better monster is.
  12. I'm trying to read Origin right now, and, frankly, it isn't doing anything for me. As for your comment about Daredevil, you really do have to start at the beginning of Bendis's run to understand just what the crap is going on. But it's well worth it.
  13. Freddy, because, as sick as it sounds, he was a child molester. You don't get much more horrific than that.
  14. Actually, if done correctly, a Black Widow movie could do very well. A sexy, smart, female secret agent in tight black leather. Just think Alias on the big screen.

  16. I have become addicted to this show for no apparent reason.
  17. Yeah, you want the one written by Miller and drawn by Romita, Jr.
  18. I'm not a fan of FPSs, but I just might have to get this and Half-Life 2 (whenever the Hell that ships).
  19. Personally, I'd grab The Man Without Fear. It was a five issue Year One-type mini that is absolutely perfect.
  20. Holy shit! I just read that it's shipping on August 3 with a price of $55.
  21. DJ, I just posted your review of Quiver and can tell that you're becoming more and more comfortable writing these reviews. My one suggestion would be to occasionally cite examples. For instance, you mention Smith's smart dialog, and, as someone who's never read Quiver, I'd like to read examples of what you think stood out and made a scene or exchange. Telling me how good the dialog is is one thing, but providing me with examples will help me agree or disagree with you.
  22. That would be Age of Apocalypse, and here are links to all of the collected editions (however, most are out of print): Dawn of the Age of Apocalypse Legionquest Tales of the Age of Apocalypse Tales of the Age of Apocalypse: Sinister Bloodlines Amazing X-Men Astonishing X-Men Factor-X Gambit and the X-Ternals Weapon X X-Calibre X-Man Twilight of the Age of Apocalypse Onslaught: The Awakening, Vol. 1 Onslaught: To the Victor..., Vol. 2 [Can't find the 3rd Vol.] Onslaught: Eye of the Storm, Vol. 4 Onslaught: The Front Line, Vol. 5 Onslaught: Pyarmic Victory, Vol. 6 First off, I'd grab any (and all) of the Ultimate Spider-Man collections, Daredevil: The Man Without Fear (Frank Miller, John Romita, Jr.), all of the Brian Michael Bendis Daredevil TPBs, and Powers. For non-superhero titles, get all nine of the Preacher books, all of the Transmetropolitan trades, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Sin City: The Big Fat Kill.
  23. I'm cool with the idea. Though I'd prefer it if each article had its own thread, sort of like Column Feedback at the Oratory -- this way conversations and comments don't overlap.
  24. I have to assume he meant Oliver, because that's the picture he used.
  25. It not only made him stronger, but keep in mind that he was insane at the time.
