  1. It was awesome. Clearly my best visit to CCI ever. Chicago should be super cool too.
  2. Besides being a little dark, the picture quality was surprisingly okay. And this entire movie was "awesomely bad." There were times where I didn't know if I should bang my head, laugh, or bang my head while laughing.
  3. Nope, and nope. However, I have a friend who met Eliza at Wizard World Philadelphia. She was signing at a booth that was hosted by a company he works for, and said that she was rubbing up against and cooing all over him. One of his coworkers corroborated his story, so take it for what it's worth. No fucking fair. I'll have to ask him if he has any pictures, just to make you that much more jealous. Here are the goodies I acquired. 2" Marvel MiniMate 2pk -- Battle Damaged Captain America and Classic Punisher 2" Marvel MiniMate 2pk -- Gaijin Wolverine & Mariko Yashida 2" Marvel MiniMate 2pk -- Clobberin' Time Thing and Super Skrull 7" Fred Krueger, The Springwood Slasher (This is actually a Christmas present for a cousin.) The unreleased Fantastic Four film (1994) on DVD. (Expect a review soon.) And the pride of my collection, the complete series of Bone comics in one freaking huge volume! (Expect a review soon.) Sadly, I wasn't able to get my mitts on the She-Ra figure, nor did I purchase the 7" "Crazy 88 Director" Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill figure. But I'm confident I'll end up with both by the time Wizard World Chicago has come and gone.

    Halo 2

Here's a link to the Halo 2 teaser trailer that will air in movie theaters in the coming months. (It's roughly 1.3MB, and 45 seconds long.)
  6. Noted, however, those subjects are fair to talk about (just so long as they're not glorified), especially in light of Identity Crisis #2.
  7. Pictures from Day 02 (my final day). An Alien v Predator display, and a Robocop 2-up from McFarlane Toys. Two from the panel Gays in Comics: Crossfire 3. Bob Schreck (DC editor), Terrance Griep (Scooby-Doo; wrestles in the Midwest as "The SpiderBaby"), Marc Andreyko (Manhunter), and Joan Hilty (DC editor) (l to r) Paige Braddock (Jane’s World), Tristan Crane (How Loathsome), and Phil Jimenez (New X-Men) (l to r) Two from a Marvel panel. Preview art for the newest Avengers title: Young Avengers. This book will debut in the aftermath of "Avengers: Disassembled," and will be penned by a writer of The O.C. (pardon me for not recalling his name this late). Expect it in January 2005. We were told that several young people (possibly young heroes who already exist in the Marvel Universe) will step-up to fill the void that has been created, but nothing more. (Sorry about the poor quality. I tried to darken and sharpen it in Photoshop, but this is the best I can do.) Also announced was Warren Ellis' attachment to Iron Man and the mini-series Ultimate Nightmare -- part one of a trilogy staring The Ultimates. Several new 2099 titles were mentioned as well, including Daredevil 2099, Black Panther 2099, and Mutant 2099. Look for a full report early next week. (Unlike E3, I'll actually write this one... I hope.)
  8. Pictures from Day 01. Assorted He-Man busts and a 2-up of a (hopefully) forthcoming Sorceress figure. Two from a 20" Lord of the Rings line. Three from the panel DC: The Write Stuff. (They're a little fuzzy. Sorry about that.) Howard Chaykin, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Dan Jolley (l to r) Peter Tomasi, Andy Diggle, and Paul Jenkins (l to r) Andy Diggle, Paul Jenkins, and Bill Willingham (l to r)
  9. Holy shit! I can't stop laughing. As for the question: I have to give it to Theodore. A hungry (and angry) chipmunk is not something you want to fuck with.
  10. Various Star Wars pictures. (Including an almost life-size Lego Vader.) A Sin City teaser poster.
  11. I present to you a handful of pictures from the preview night of Comic-Con International. Here's the crowd that had lined up hours before the doors were to open. Two from the Batman: Hush line. Three from The Batman, the new animated series. (Sorry about the quality of the second one.) Three from a new Marvel series. (Sorry about the quality of the first and third.)
  12. Nope. Hint: It's not that of one specific author.
  13. Though I wasn't reading Spider-Man until right before the Saga ended, I did happen to flip through/read a few issues. Frankly, I wasn't impressed or bothered by the storyline. However, I never liked the return of Norman (or Aunt May), because that was such an integral part of Spider-Man's history. To me, that was on par with bringing back Uncle Ben or Gwen. All three death altered Peter's life forever, and bringing Norman back felt cheap.
  14. (source: HollywoodReporter.com) Sounds like a lame, happy take on X-Men.
  15. Yes, it would. At least once a month, though every two weeks is preferred. And Sarah, the publisher, wants to start updating the Multimedia section every week, so that would mean an even bigger commitment. On topic: How does this game tie into the film?
  16. Well, I'm off for Comic-Con International tomorrow. I just purchased a digital camera, so I'll try to post pictures nightly.
  17. I'm always looking for writers to join my PopMatters crew. The free games aren't plentiful, but it's better than nothing.
  18. Didn't old school Batman kill regularly? He used to carry a gun, and (I believe) shot a vampire. But, besides that, I can't recall if he killed.
  19. I'm the Multimedia (RE: Video Game) editor for PopMatters.com.
  20. Batman: Dead End (large, 160MB) Batman: Dead End (small, 48MB) Grayson (large, 138MB) Grayson (small, 48MB) BATMAN: DEAD END What I liked: -- EVERYTHING! (Well, almost.) What I didn't like: -- Some of the Joker's lines are a little forced. -- I don't think Batman would use a lead pipe. -- He nearly kills [i won't say who] at the end. GRAYSON What I liked: -- The Clark Kent cameo. -- The mixture of music and action, especially near the end, got me hyped. What I didn't like: -- Why Dick takes on his old Robin persona instead of that of Batman or, better yet, Nightwing is beyond me. -- Too many heroes and villains. (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batgirl, The Riddler, and the Penguin.) -- The director seemed to be taking a page from The Dark Knight Returns and involved Clark/Superman too much. Confused me: -- So does the world know that Bruce Wayne and Batman were one and the same?
  21. Haven't played it yet, but I do have a free review copy (Xbox) coming shortly. It looks bad ass from what I've seen, but so did Driv3r and that's getting panned by critics.
  22. I saw an ad for it this weekend (after I posted the article), and it looked like shit. Almost like a cross between Blair Witch and I don't know what.
  23. I just watched eight clips from Catowoman. What follows are snippets of dialog, and general things that make little to no sense. -- "I'm sorry!" "Sorry's not nearly enough." "Okay. Well, let me try the remix. I'm sorry for every second I wasted working for an untalented, unethical, egomaniac like you!" -- She just so happens to have a box of leather clothing that reads: Open in case of dating emergency. -- She takes out a heavy metal/biker gang with seltzer water. -- She enters a bustling club, kicks some dude out the door, and proceeds to fight him. Oddly, no one follows them out. ---- In the same clip, she grabs the guy's tongue and asks, you guessed it, "Cat got your tongue?" -- "It was me you flushed down the pipes." -- "No, my advice to you... George, quite the self-tanning, stop eating Viagra like they're vitamins, resist the urge to date children born the same day they invented the cell phone. For once, George, in your miserable life... be a man!" ---- NOTE: Cell phone technology was conceptualized in 1947 and first used in 1973.
