  1. Here is the rumored costume. (Yes, that is Bale in it.)

    Venom v Carnage

Actually, I think he's his own inker. As for colors, he might do that too. (At least I hope so, 'cause I wouldn't want anyone to have to suffer through inking and coloring that!)

    Venom v Carnage

I think he uses a mixture of pencils and computer. I've seen some of his earlier work, and it was clearly computer models. So that might explain his speed. Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a mini, so Marvel might have given him enough lead time get it done before solicitation.

    Don't worry about.

    CMX

It would appear that DC Comics has launched a new manga imprint called CMX. Anyone have any news on this? link (If you guys feel this is better suited for the DC forum, feel free to move it.)

    Venom v Carnage

That would explain why she's on the cover of the third issue, but this new creature is supposed to be super deadly, even more so than Carnage. And I don't see Cat being that way.

Sorry guys, but I just can't seem to find the cover to #4. Maybe in a few weeks (days?) it will appear online.

    Venom v Carnage

An early review states that the book is only so-so, but it might be worth it just to see the art up close.

    Venom v Carnage

I am digging deep into the Internet to find the cover for issue #4. You guys need to see it!

Here are some interior shots from the first issue. And the cover to the second issue.

They have to make that a poster.
  12. I'm not surprised I'm the only bone lover. For most people, the metal is such a part of Wolverine that it would be like taking the power of flight away from Superman. But, for me, it made him more human -- real in a sense.

    Venom v Carnage

I'm telling you, the cover art for the other issues is beyond insane. I just wish I could find it online, but apparently Marvel hasn't released it to the public yet.

    Venom

Sounds good to me, but only if you want to.
  15. Okay, so Cash PM'd me earlier this evening and expressed an interest in getting back into Spider-Man. My initial reaction was to have him read Ultimate Spider-Man, however, he wants to stick with the original universe. So I thought about it for a few minutes, and honestly could think of a good jumping on point nor could I tell him what the Hell is going on. Between Ezekiel Sims, the Spider Gods, Loki and Doctor Strange, even I'm bewildered. So, friends, I come to you and ask that you help Cash regain his Spider sense. (Oh, man! That was a bad joke.) Fill him in, and make suggestions on where he should jump aboard. I recommended Marvel Knights Spider-Man (by Mark Millar and Terry & Rachel Dodson) if only because the art is phenomenal and it's a new title.
  16. Here's a clip of Michael Chiklis saying, "It's clobberin' time." (from Comic-Con International)

And the word from Marvel is that Carnage's child will be even more sinister that its father.

    Venom v Carnage

From Marvel.com: Let me tell you something: I've seen the cover art for issues 2 and 3, and it will blow you fucking mind! This Clayton Crain guy is going to be huge! Now, I'm not a huge Venom (or Carnage) fan. In fact, I think he's overrated, but I will be picking this book up if only for the art.

    Venom

I actually wasn't familiar with that story. Where can I pick it up?

    Venom

At least they had enough sense to turn 'Tooth back. Getting back to Emma, however, I really like the tension between her and teammate Kitty Pryde. It serves to remind us that 01. she used to oppose her current comrades, and 02. not all heroes (especially those whose loyalties are called into question) trust one another.

    Venom

Oddly enough, I recently found myself thinking about this very subject, and I have to say it was a major mistake on Marvel's part because it watered him down. But that was the trend at the time (RE: Sabertooth). While some villains can successfully make the switch to hero/antihero (RE: Emma Frost), others cannot. However, it has nothing to do with the character and more to do with how it was handled. Emma's transition was handled well, and her loyalties continue to be questioned. Whereas Venom's protecting of the "innocents" seemed to come out of left field and didn't quite fit the character. At least with Emma one must wonder if she's in it for herself, if she's biding her time, which adds mystique (pardon) to the character. But, despite his past, we were fully expected to buy Venom as the next great antihero, without ever questioning which side he was really on. Things might have worked out better for Venom if he had become a reluctant hero who we didn't know if we could trust -- not even in the end.
  22. I'll see it for sure, but I'm leery.
  23. After looking at the weekend box office numbers, it would appear that no one saw the movie. (Frankly, I'll see it but don't want to pay full price.)
