  1. To what extent? I'm sure the studio execs are realistic about what Aronofsky can bring to the table.
  2. It sounds like you're reading too much into it. Wolverine's in Japan. They'd have to out of their way to contradict what's already been set up, and I don't know why they would since it's not necessary this time around. And I'd like to believe Aronofsky and McQuarrie know what they’re doing.
  3. Does it matter if it’s a sequel or not? If the events that take place in the movie don’t contradict what’s already been laid out, then you can take it either way. And I don’t think they will. Nobody has to be confused by this.
  4. I’m always reading comics, but I never post about them. I should change that: Set to Sea. Man, this is a beautiful book. It’s the story of a poor, lumbering poet who finds himself shanghaied onto a ship set for sail to Hong Kong. Initially alone and miserable, he slowly grows to love sailing and uses it to rekindle his interest in poetry. I’ve only seen the one panel per page graphic novel done once before, but it was handled a lot better in this one. It’s just really well paced, and it helps that the artwork is so good. I’d love to read whatever Drew Weing does next. Scenes from an Impending Marriage. It’s a short memoir from Adrian Tomine about the weeks leading up to his wedding. Another really fun, brisk read. The only other work I’ve read from Tomine was Shortcomings, so it’s nice to go into something a little more upbeat. Did I mention how much I like his artwork? X’ed Out. This is the first book I’ve read from Charles Burns, and I enjoyed it enough that I picked up Black Hole and Skin Deep shortly after. It’s kind of hard to layout the story without spoiling things, but basically it’s about a young man who’s is constantly slipping into a nightmarish dream world that’s shaped by all the strange things he’s experienced in the real world. I love all the Tintin references and again; huge fan of Burns’ artwork.

There were a lot of great music releases last year. Not much that was nominated for a Grammy, but whatever. I guess I just… did people ever care about these awards? I love music but it’s not something I ever paid any attention to. I’m not too bothered by Arcade Fire winning the same award that Taylor Swift won last year. And personally, I’m fine with a relatively unknown artist like Esperanza winning the best new artist award, since by all accounts she’s worked hard to get to where she is. Regardless of how much the award actually means, she’ll get a bit more attention and her music might reach people it wouldn’t have previously.

I know. I’m pissed off by Bieber’s loss too.
  7. Clearly the artists at THQ are big fans of Liefield’s work.
  8. What? The French would never lie. W… would they?
  9. *a man sits in a corner, clearly exhausted, counting to what appears to be his 100th bicep curl with a 100lb dumbbell. The dumbbell does seem quite small for such a significant weight Oh, hello I didnt see you come in. Please, sit down and let me tell you all about how I attained physical perfection. I haven't always been this way; I used to be lazy and fat. I lived on a diet of cheetos, burgers, pizza and soda. But then I found out about earth-2.net protein bars and shakes, and my life was never the same again. Now I jog to work every day, travelling the 20 mile distance in a mere two hours, and I use that time to fill in work related forms, do my taxes, manage my stock options and assess potential clients. Ive even converted my office into a mini gym. Sure, clients are initially put off by the fact that I sometimes need to do my bench presses during early morning meetings. But once they get to know me, they realise that physical perfection takes a lot of effort, and theyll often offer to spot me. Alright, alright. No more shenanigans. Lets talk about exercise, eating healthy, and all that good stuff. Towards the end of 2009 I was miserable. I was driving to work each day to an office that was in the middle of nowhere. Exercise was nearly impossible to do during the day, and by the time I came home I was tired and unwilling to go to the gym. I snacked constantly out of boredom, and visited the soda machine far too often. When I came back to my regular office I decided things were going to change. I started riding my bike to work each day, hitting the gym before I came home. I read up on ways to eat healthier and started changing my eating habits. The result so far has been a weight loss of about 16kg (35lb). Im still not completely happy with my weight, and I have a couple of bad habits I need to correct, but I do feel like Ive accomplished something. Once Im in a weight range Im happy with, Im going to work on building up some muscle. But this thread isnt about me, its about you. Are you hoping to lose weight or get back into shape? Are you thinking about changing your diet? This thread is for anyone who wants to shake up their lifestyle, or discuss how theyve lost weight in the past. Im in no way an expert on weight loss, but Id like to think the collective minds of earth-2.net have a few good ideas. So have at it.
  10. I wouldn't mind getting on this C2E2 train next year. My girlfriend and I both want to visit the US, and I'd love to go to a big convention like this as part of the trip.

This thread needs some women laughing alone with salad.
  12. I wanted to have fun with Transformers. I just wanted to sit down and watch a fun action movie where shit blew up. I honestly thought it was boring. A complete chore from start to finish. That's where I gave up on the series.
  13. I've heard Parks & Recreation improves tremendously in its second season. Once the second season hits DVD down here, I’ll check it out. Community is fantastic too.
  14. Two things came out of the recent Sony press conference: 1. That Sony is bringing original Playstation games to Android phones and PSP2 with a framework called PlayStation Suite. It’s essentially an emulator and download service set to run on non-Sony products. 2. That Sony are making the PSP2 (or at this stage NGP). The NGP is actually going to have a bigger screen than the original PSP, and the device itself will be bigger too, so I’m not too worried about the size of the dual analog sticks. Having sticks that actually stick out sounds great to me, and it looks like they improved the d-pad too. They’ve pretty much given up on making this a portable device you can slip into your pocket, so they’re just concentrating on making it fancier. That’s not a bad thing, but man, I hope it get’s a decent lineup of games.
  15. I've already decided I'm buying that game. It's an arcade wrestling game where everyone looks like a cartoon. How could it be bad? The team behind it made TNA: iMPACT. Yeah, but it's TNA. It was destined to be shitty. WWE has a lot of control over their license. If it's from the guys who did TNA: Impact, then it seems like most of their games have been pretty bad. Who knows, maybe this will be their chance to make up for those Backyard Wrestling games.
  16. Man, this is a huge undertaking. Good luck with it. I'm a little surprised Sands of Time isn't higher up! I definitely pictured it as a game in your top 20.
  17. Tangled is a beautiful movie. I just... I wish it deviated from the Disney formula just a little. I get that they were going for a traditional Disney animated movie, but it felt like their big chance to move things forward and do something I wasn't expecting. They didn't. How To Train Your Dragon doesn't look as good, but I enjoyed the story a little more. It's still pretty standard stuff, but I really liked the characters and I thought the relationship between Hiccup and Toothless was handled really well. Plus it's just nice to see a Dreamworks film that's not so obnoxious. I still enjoyed Toy Story 3 the most. I really, really want to see The Illusionist too. I watched trailers for it ages ago, and I've been waiting for a chance to watch it ever since.
  18. Oh yeah, Action Comics is a whole lot of fun at the moment.

    3DS

I'll probably wait for it's first price drop, but I do that for most consoles anyway. I am interested in trying it out though.
