  1. In the next film, Dubs will be Batman's villain.....
  2. Dubs delights in crushing my hopes. I *know* Nolan wrote it, but somehow, that pesky Dubs is to blame......
  3. I'm the one on the left btw.
  4. I like how a serious discussion on who would be best suited to be the life partner of the psychologically damaged Bruce Wayne has ended up with "FOURSOME!!!!" EDIT: And then I looked at my signature and appreciated the irony of my post.
  5. In fairness, the $230mil means a combination of domestic and international, which were both about $115mil a piece. For a superhero movie, it isn't a *HUGE* amount, but it was more successful than pretty much anyone expected. It ranks as the 25th most successful CBM of all time and has nowhere to go other than down. On topic: If they were going to improve the film, keep Cage, Fonda and maybe Elliot for flashbacks, better action secnes and a decent villain. Anyone's an improvement on the original film's Blackhart for reasons stated above.
  6. Hey there! Glad to hear you're enjoying FYEO! We've just recorded the episode for next week and I don't *think* the hairpiece gets brought up, although Adham definitely mentioned it when we were re-watching the film. When we do our Connery look-back, I'm pretty sure it'll get a mention!
  7. Dubs wins. Sure, Foley wasn't the greatest physical wrestler ever, but in this day and age, you don't have to be as long as you understand the business. For the first time ever, an ex-WWE guy leaving for TNA could actually give TNA some legitimacy. Sorry Angle/Christian/everyone else
  8. Just like I don't go around telling everyone how much I love Enchanted. Great film for those brought up on Disney, but not something I proudly state at work or to friends.
  9. Lol! I'm betting some of that review makes it into my highlights package!
  10. I'm working on it! Er, if no-one hears from Des, I think I might have killed him.... Also, thanks to Dan & Dubs! For the record, I think Adham's accent was French.
  11. Honestly though Dubs, are you very surprised? Fun ep - I have more memories of She Ra than He Man for some reason, and even then they're hazy, so it's nice to hear about how the spin-off was founded.
  12. Birthday salutations, sir!
  13. I imagine he got quite a bit out of his system when he was co-writing Action Comics. Also, he was kind of responsible for Superman Returns (He gave his blessing to Bryan Singer's story), so the producers might be a little wary of using him. I have a feeling that producers might be more weary on the basis that it's 30 years on since the original film was released. Superman's world is very different to that of Christopher Reeve's and whilst Donner may have a good grasp of the mythos (I'm basing this on the original film and director's cut of the second film - I have no other evidence to support this), he'd have to apply it very differently. Singer tried to update the mythos, but failed. Warner Brothers REALLY need to approach people who can adapt Superman to the screen in a respectful, modern way. I still shudder at the Burton/Peters 90s vision of the character. Say what you will about Superman Returns, and I have, but at least in this version Superman flies and wears a costume that resembles that of his comics counterpart......
  14. RE: my question - I was trying to say "which villains are best served by their appearances?" rather than asking you to rank the voice actors. I blame myself entirely though for my wording. Good show - I too would pimp that Earth-2.net: The Show episode and that "For You Rears Only"* podcast too..... *That was intentional; I'm not trying to relive the whole "Estrigen" hilarity.
  15. Me with my little brother. I'm the one on the right.
  16. Your result for The Director Who Films Your Life Test ... Woody Allen Your film will be 58% romantic, 41% comedy, 24% complex plot, and a $ 21 million budget. Be prepared to have your life story shot entirely in New York City -- though lately Woody's been loving shooting in London. Also, your music soundtrack is all jazz from before 1949. Filmography: Annie Hall, Manhattan, Stardust Memories, Everyone Says I Love You, Match Point, Scoop, etc. Woody has released one film per year consistently for the past 35 years. For the past 15 years he's been trying to make films like his older, funnier ones, just like characters in his Stardust Memories film suggest throughout. Regardless of his personal life, his films are American classics.

I've got a thing for British chicks. Plus it's a good song, damn you. Because everytime I think of you Is everyday, and all night through. Yeah, thank god she turned to acting. As an aside, I went to see Tiger Army solely due to Dread Media 47 - I do love that song. Sadly, the rest of the set was a bit metal heavy.

HA! Dubs going through Billie Piper's pop career! Lolz! I've just got back from a music festival (hence my absence) and I can say this: Good - Excellent - The Fratellis - Queens of the Stone Age - Rage Against The Machine - Mystery Jets - Adam Green - Tenacious D Alright - Blood Red Shoes - The Duke Spirit - Tiger Army - Pendulum Meh - Be Your Own Pet - Los Campesinos - The Rascals
  19. Sucks to be Brandon Routh, I guess. Also, if this is a proper reboot, Luthor HAS to be involved. I just hope he can be more of a presence with a more disposable foe in the foreground to battle Supes. The ONLY porblem I can see with this is that there is a HELL of a lot of ground to cover in a two hour reboot. The DCAU Superman series works because the universe is set up at a gradual pace. And yes, Superman the character can't be dark. The world he has to save, maybe, but it has to stray away from Nolan's Bat-universe, as Gotham is a pretty shiny place in there to begin with.
  20. It sounds like they are releasing more movies, not fewer. I think that's meant to mean that Warner Brothers are releasing more DC films, but are overall producing less movies. That'd mean DC films would make up a larger percentage of the WB's output.
  21. Hi there a) Can't say I know much about iTunes & album artwork. Sorry! b) Your required link = this. From there you can read the rest of the forums that Bruce Timm drops (dropped? That post is dated from 2004 after all) into. c) Always good to have a new listener! If it leads to feedback, so much the better!
