    Happy birthday!
  2. Yeah, I watch it when I can. Some of the episodes are really good, the best one I've seen is when Alfred makes Bruce allow a camera crew and reporter to do a "day in the life of," special about him so that he can separate himself from Batman. You get it on "Fox Box" James? I thought it was a WB Kids show?
  3. Man, now I want a Sin City breakfast taco. Oh, and see Yoda, Rodriguez likes the Gladys scene too.
  4. SPOILERS...ye be warned. You say the phone book thing really bothered you about That Yellow Bastard, but keep in mind that Nancy wouldn't have been in the phonebook at all until she was 18 or so, since Junior was a pedophile, Nancy would have lost her appeal to him a long time ago (there might be some "the one that got away sentiment," but the sentiment of "Marv will beat the shit out of you if you touch Nancy," should have overcome that). I think for Junior, it was more about Hartigan. If it was about Nancy, Roark wouldn't have accepted the trade, and Hartigan probably wouldn't have even bothered to offer it. At least, that's the way I rationalize it. Afterall, it wasn't Nancy who caused all of Junior's pain, suffering and humiliation, it was Hartigan trying to save her. So for Junior to take Nancy in front of him, then kill him (or come close) would have been the ultimate revenge. So yeah, that's why I think they had left Nancy alone before they made Hartigan come after her.
  5. There's a hidden trailer on the movie's website. Go here click on US Enter or whatever and watch or skip the intro. Once the site has loaded, tap the F4 key a few times until it begins to load the easter egg (trust me, you'll know). Then click on the classified video link and watch the trailer. I thought it was a lot better than the first one. A lot better. Still kinda underwhelming, though.
  6. I agree that the PS2's coming off of the market isn't a huge a deal as one may think (though I still think the PS3 isn't going to be here until at least Q4 '06), but paying over $170 million in damages is, and even if they did decide to sell PS2's without the dual shock, they'd have to change production on the systems. Quite an expensive proposition.
  7. From Arstechnica.com Considering that they lost the first appeal, this isn't good news for Sony at all. So if you want a PS2, get it now. They might not be around in a few months.
  8. I think, and this is just speculation, that Palpatine (or Dooku, or maybe even Maul) is gonna turn out to have been Sipho Dias (I think Yoda says he disappeared). The thing is, the aliens had been given the order for the Republic, so when Palpatine commissioned the Army of the Republic, he already had it waiting, and just had to parade it in. Remember, Palpatine is exceptionally strong in the force, and makes constant references to being able to see the future in the original trilogy. It makes since that he would plan his coup years in advance, especially after meeting the young and ambitious Anakin Skywalker. I'm not really sure how he was able to just bring in tens of thousands of troops to bring against Geonosis without anybody really questioning how, but if you put yourself into a Senator's shoes, it's not really that hard to fathom. After all, would you rather have a clone army from a far off planet fight and die or volunteers (or conscriptions) from your own population? Especially considering that the clones have already been paid for. I think there is gonna be some more about this in Episode III, as that isn't immediately clear.
  9. No Sentinels. But maybe Trask. The Danger Room should be interesting.
  10. So, uhh...where does that leave Harry? If they're gonna do that, I'd kinda like them to do Man-Wolf (he'd have a reason to be pissed at Parker), along with the symbiote suit and Eddie Brock as a side thing with Eddie feeling he failed by not capturing the Man-Wolf or getting fired for accusing John Jameson of being the lycanthropic baddie (Brock was working at the Bugle in the first movie). Finish the Osbourne thing, then have Venom's creation end the movie. But that really seems way too convoluted.
  11. Please read this article. I know it's long, but it's important. I don't have much to add personally. Pretty much all of these guys are right. The developers aren't behind these new platforms. What's a game console without games?
  12. Flintstones. Not sure why. I think I like both equally, but I have to be in the right frame of mind to watch the Jetsons. It's kinda weird. It's just that I'm less likely to change the channel on the Flintstones, so that's who I'll vote for.
  13. :OMG: I wonder who is gonna play the Cajun. Hopefully they cast the guy who was Hank McCoy in X-2 to at least do the voice of Beast, if only for continuity. I wonder what version of Beast they're going to do. It would be awesome if they showed his mutation throughout the movie. Like he starts off just as an extremely strong and agile human with big feet and an odd posture, then gradually grows the fur and other things.
  14. That is so stupid. Why not just force retailers (ALL OF THEM, the only place I've ever been carded for a video game is Wal-Mart, and I look about 14 clean shaven) to card everybody? That might, you know, actually help to solve the problem rather than allow shitty parenting to be blamed on others. Maybe it would also be productive to have the clerk point out to any parent buying a game for an obviously underrage child the rating of the game, and whether or not they would consider it appropriate to give their child a game with content of that nature. I like Fargo's take.
  15. Mav, Yoda probably got the story from here. Or at least that's where I saw it. The thing about Halle Berry is interesting too, I wonder what she means by that. She doesn't really seem like the comic book type. It's here on AICN. EDIT: Yoda beat me to it.

    Xbox 360 news

Here's part 3 of the article: Wireless controllers standard is nice. WMP 9 is weird, especially considering they're on version 10 in Windows. And Yoda, I don't know if it's the end of unlockable content. On the console side of things, offline play is still king. Hell, it's still king on the PC and the PC has a much better online experience than any console can offer. I seriously doubt that this generation completely ends it. But the Forza demo during the Microsoft Keynote was really disturbing.

    Xbox 360 news

I wanted to comment here because these system specs really bother me. For all intents and purposes, it's 3 G5 chips. That kind of hardware does not come cheap. Each of those chips alone probably costs what a current X-Box costs to produce. I'm sure the costs will drop between now and its release, but it looks to me like Microsoft might eat some losses on the hardware end of things. Another thing that really pisses me off is these "microtransaction" things they're pushing. Selling unique graphics and such for things like racing games for small prices like $0.50 is really odd. I guess I don't really care if it's just things like rims and graphics, but what's to stop them from selling things like horsepower boosts? If it's just in there as a shortcut for people who don't want to spend hours unlocking things, I don't care, as long as gamers can still unlock any performance related content without having to pay extra. It's not fair to take away from skilled gamers because they don't want to pay more money after paying $50 for a game. The portable hard drive sounds pretty cool, though.
  18. A new, very awesome, web-exclusive trailer can be had here. Looks like a really good cast, and Adams wrote the screenplay himself (though it has gone through rewrites), so I have high hopes. Here's the main cast: Martin Freeman ........ Arthur Dent Mos Def ................... Ford Prefect Sam Rockwell ........... Zaphod Beeblebrox Zooey Deschanel ...... Tricia McMillan ("Trillian") Bill Nighy .................. Slartibartfast Warwick Davis .......... Marvin the Paranoid Android (Alan Rickman is the voice) Stephen Fry .............. The Book (voice)
  19. E10+. New level of ESRB rating. I think it's a really good idea, as they really didn't have a PG equivalent rating for video games. Now if only parents and stores would actually enforce the ESRB ratings.
  20. Yes, let's watch someone play GTA for five damn minutes and decide it's the worst game ever. Nevermind the anti-drug messages or the fact that the game punishes you if you beat up a cop; the fact that a game allows you to do it must mean its okay to do in real life, right? Hey, NASCAR games allow you to drive pretty much anyway you want and wreck others, I guess if someone gets a ticket its because they played a NASCAR simulator. I think if video game stores actually enforced the ESRB ratings and checked ID's or parents actually read the ratings this wouldn't be as much of a problem. But neither parents or retail stores are willing to step up and take that kind of responsibility. If I ever have kids, they will never get a hold of a game that I haven't approved of if I can help it. This doesn't mean that I won't ever get them a game that they couldn't buy for themselves, but it does mean that if they want a game that's above their age range, I'd like to rent it and play it for myself first.
  21. Here's the whole list for the lazy people: Some Comments: The Deus Ex movie has been in the works for awhile, the movie rights were snatched up fairly quickly post-release. That somebody thinks they can make it darker than the game is a little crazy, but if they can pull it off - :OMG:. Max Payne would make a great film-noir Rambo. Don't change a damned thing. The Doom movie is going to suck. It won't be on Mars. Metroid will probably get off the ground when Spy Hunter's released. Both those films will have some good action, and that will fit with the franchises. If Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat have taught us anything, it's that to make a proper fighting game movie, it has to be animated. A 3rd RE? I'm not sure what I think about that, because I haven't seen Apocalypse, but I liked the 1st as an action movie.
  22. Now having acquired a method of transportation, the T800, well aware of his design superiority to Robocop, drives away. Robocop, furious, chases the T800 down, and disables his vehicle on a lonely stretch of highway miles outside of Detroit. His vehicle now disabled, the T800 must now take Robocop's. Robocop stops and exits his vehicle, expecting the local authorities to arrive any time now, and brandishes his weapon at a sorely unimpressed T800. Knowing that his guns are more or less useless, and the use of anything heavy enough to reasonably affect Robocop will probably disable the vehicle behind him as well, the T800 merely walks forward, taking the shots from Robocop's pistol. Robocop quickly ditches the pistols and the two come to blows. The T800 simply shoves Robocop, aside, but the cyborg tackles him before he can commandeer the vehicle. As the two brawl, the T800 gains the upper hand, and strips Robocop of his arms, allowing him to keep living for the sake of future machines, but rendering him completely useless in stopping him for now. The T800 speeds off just as the locals arrive.
  23. Bah...I liked TechTV (been watching since the ZDTV days), but the G4 merger completely sucked. They cut off the best parts of the network replaced it with G4 crap. And it is crap, there is a reason the network bombed on its first run. Damn Paul Allen and his desire to get out of the TV game. But that's funny. Honestly though, G4TV sounds more marketable than G4TechTV.
  24. The Superman ones are photoshopped (the text is, anyway), but the other gallery of strange comic book covers aren't. At least, a lot of them aren't.
