  1. nXt is my favorite 'promotion' to watch and it is not even close. Takeover and Arrival are my top two show of the year (in that order). Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro is my match of the year. Heck, William Regal is my favorite announcer at the moment (without much competition sadly). All that said, I don't know how any of the roster will translate to WWE proper.
  2. I think that was know as soon as Qatar was awarded the World Cup. If memory serves, part of the proposal to combat the 100+ degree heat were hovercraft air conditioners. Shockingly, such things are not possible.
  3. I don't know why, but that felt like a cameo for the trailer. As in, that scene will not be in the movie. I know I will be wrong, but that was still my first thought.
  4. The entire things seems overstated, if loosing 350 million is something that can be overstated. The 'horrible' TV deal that they got is only labeled such because Vince claimed he could 'double or triple' the rights fees. Without that, the stock wouldn't have rose so high and the fall wouldn't have been as bad. As I understand it, they did increase their rights fees. Their problem was thinking they would be considered as a live sport (which are the only things that are DVR proof. WWE is not.) Not saying everything is sunshine and puppy dogs. The Network numbers are a worry. I think they have 650K-ish subscribers at the moment. The break even point just moved to 1.4 mil. They will get a boost when it is available outside of the US, but it sounds like it is incredibly easy to get around the geo-blocking. I haven't bought the network (because I do not like the fact you have to buy 6 months at once), but I have not heard anything but good things.
  5. Still say it is weird that Big Dave has third billing. Good for him.
  6. ExoSquad - I absolutely loved this. I only remembered the most basic outline of the show from childhood. But damn, this cartoon is just made of awesome. From start to finish, an epic story. And so many characters. Off the top of my head, I count 20+ characters and it never felt like too many people. And lots of people die every episode. Granted, nameless people, but they dead. The animation can be off at times (you can tell when a back-up studio was used during season 2) but on the whole is pretty solid. I put the ending (5-part + epilogue) off for months because I didn't want to be annoyed with a non-series finale. But it actually has an ending, which makes me really happy.

So, I went to Fenway this week. Besides the 13 hour drive (not recommended), I'd say it was a pretty good trip. Fenway now ranks 2nd on my list of stadiums, which is about what I expected. It manages to still retain the old time charm while having huge video boards. What really put it over the top was the fans. While not as outwardly friendly as other places, the place was packed and loud for a random Tuesday night. Massive exit when the game went into extras tho (which is something I will never understand). Stadium Ranks: 1) Wrigley Field 2) Fenway Park 3) Oriole Park at Camden Yards 4) Great American Ball Park 5) PNC Pack 6) Progressive Field Road Results: 1) W @ Cubs F/10 2) L @ Orioles (Walk-Off in 12th) 3) L @ Pirates (Walk-Off in 9th) 4) L @ Indians (Walk-Off in 10th) 5) L @ Red Sox (Walk-Off in 12th) I know that it is just a coincidence, but walk-offs & extra innings seem to be our thing.
  8. I saw this yesterday and left with a feeling of 'well, that was a movie'. I guess it comes down to a bad script. Too much for one film.
  9. Sticking near the ballpark is not really an issue. Go nuts and name anything. Looking for something that is 'Boston'.
  10. http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/craig-ferguson-i-wanted-to-leave-the-show-before-i-stopped-enjoying-it-exclusive-1201166239/ While I will miss Craig, I don't find this too unexpected. The last few months have been kinda off, which I just chalked up to the odd taping schedule. But looking back with context, it all makes sense now. And I for one await the Late Late Show with Geoff Peterson in 2015. Because why not.
  11. Not exactly a con, but I am going to Boston in two weeks. Basically driving to watch the Reds play in Fenway. At the moment, outside of the baseball game, we have no idea what to do with ourselves. We have a little time to explore, but not much. Maybe 2ish hours before the game, after game and early the next morning before we leave. Very tight schedule due to being on a Tues-Wed. So what should we do? Also, any classic 'must go' food places would be nice to know.
  12. This has been my stance as well. I'm not feeling it and am not planning on seeing it in theaters as of now.
  13. Back to more pleasant things: Eric Young is your new TNA World Champion. Lets see. Bearded fellow. Two matches in the same night. Arm injury. Truly groundbreaking, original material. Stay horrible TNA. It is always amusing.
  14. Dark Knight Rises - Haven't watched this since opening night in theaters. Cannot say a second viewing has changed my opinion much. Too long, still hate the Bane voice and I was bored. Plus, Pete Holmes has ruined this for me, but at least is cured my boredom problem. THE CLEAN SLATE.
  15. Finished the 5th season of White Collar. This was a straight regression for pretty much everybody. All the character growth of the last two seasons was just forgotten for no reason. And what really annoys is the potential they had with the season 4 cliffhanger. Instead, ten minutes and it is resolved. That doesn't help the cliffhanger to end this season.
  16. Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher - That was a steaming pile. Animation was slow and clunky. It felt almost like a motion comic at times. But the 'highlight' would be the voice acting. You would get more emotion out of a Speak N Spell. I don't understand how Marvel continues to suck so hard on these animated features.
  17. Isn't the 2000ish number for Black Widow #3 the number of reorders? But like Mike said, the point is still valid.
  18. Pretty good reset post-Mania edition of RAW. I actually watched this live for the crowd, which didn't seem as 'bizzaro' as last year. Then again, there was no 20 minute Orton/Sheamus match to entertain themselves with. Two things tho: - They not only hit, but slammed the nXt button tonight. Rusev & Paige 'debuting', vid packages for Bo Dallas and Adam Rose. Just seems like a lot at once and a little soon in the case of Rose (I love the gimmick, but he has made two appearances on nXt. Time is his friend.) - I have no idea what they are doing with Cesaro. He clearly turned face at Mania, but then to align him with Heyman seems awkward and confuses me greatly.
  19. I changed my mind and Cena/Wyatt has the best match. And I can see other matches being viewed higher than me as I do think I went into this show hating on it. But I cannot for the life of me see how Lesnar/Taker was good. Start to finish it was just awkward, had little crowd heat and was just tough to watch.
  20. Spoiler Tag just in case someone is going to watch it not live. All in all, an average show leaning downward. It never felt like Mania. And just thinking about it, there was nothing here I would call an excellent match. I guess the main event was the MOTN, but that is not really saying anything.
  21. So, Mania is tonight and my overall feeling is apathy. I am going into this very pessimistic, specifically anything to do with Daniel Bryan. Everything since SummerSlam has taught me to do so.

I think you forgot about Cubs fans.

And BASEBALL IS BACK! I do not have high hopes for the Reds this year, mainly due to an off season of questionable moves and one line drive to the face. But none of that matters, because for the next six months, baseball will be played. Game on.
  24. Under the Cherry Moon - Thus ends my look at the Prince filmography. What to say. This most closely resembles a real movie. Characters have names and I think there was a story? I did not know going in that this was also directed by Prince, which explains... a lot. Everything is bad. The acting. The music. The dialogue. The costumes. The black & white. Even the kissing is some of the most awkward I have ever seen. This is a horrible film, yet I was entertained. When I watched Graffiti Bridge I was bored. This provided me with more than enough laughs to say I didn't waste my time. Could have used some Morris Day tho.
  25. Been watching some Top Gear with a few friends. And while their favorite cars are your Pagani Zondas or your Bugatti Veyrons, this will forever be my car perfection. This. A 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback in Candy Apple Red. I used to own one when I was twelve. But it was sold before I turned 16 and I never got to fully enjoy it. I had forgotten how much I wanted one. Then I remembered. And now I am staring at this picture.
