Yeah, there isn't anything in the current Spider movieverse to disallow them from merging it with the MCU. Hell, it's actually close enough to the comics that it would fit nicely into the MCU's way of doing things. If Sony were smart, they'd basically let Marvel make the movies (maybe with Sony footing part of the bill) and then take a chunk of the profits as payment. That way everyone's happy. Sony basically acts as an investor in a product that's almost guaranteed to sell well.

My point was (1) that as far as most people are aware, it's a corporate problem, and (2) the media hasn't been reporting much on the personal information leaks or whether it's had a demonstrated negative impact on those employees yet. It certainly will, of course, but that's not the immediate fallout. Not that the Sony thing isn't a legitimately worse thing, of course, it's just that it's not going to get as much attention from the public. There's an actual face to associate with each and every actress whose photos were leaked, but a few thousand nameless employees won't get a ton of sympathy.

If I had to bet on either Wells or Eddie actually being the guy in the yellow suit, I'd still say it's somehow Eddie.

Actually, I think the internet as a whole was pro-nude leaks, with a side of outrage almost entirely generated by the actresses themselves. The personal information that was leaked from Sony hasn't been reported on very much, and we have yet to actually see any personal damage from it. As far as most people are aware, it's entirely a corporate problem.

The basic notes are: -Marvel wanted Spider-Man to be in Civil War -Separately, there was an idea for a trilogy of Spider-Man movies produced by Marvel but with Sony retaining "creative control, marketing and distribution." -At some point talks broke down, but there's no evidence as to who said no to what. -As the article puts it, "As of late November [after the cross-studio talks broke down], executives were planning a 'Spidey summit' for January to discuss future plans." The idea that Marvel would let Sony retain creative control while still allowing Spider-Man to be part of the MCU is kinda bonkers, but then Sony kinda seems not to know what they're doing, since they announced a huge slate of Spidey movies and are now planning to have a planning meeting to redo that whole slate.

Wally is actually something I'm wondering about now. He's supposed to be Iris's nephew, right? But we haven't seen any evidence of a sibling for Iris so far. Maybe they'll end up being cousins or something?

I think the thing is that if Paramount is actively seeking Wright, it's because they want a lighter, more comedic tone. It's not a thing of Orci's fandom > Wright's fandom, it's the fact that Orci specifically said he wanted to make Star Trek more like Star Trek again. But then again, the rumors about where the script was going made it seem a little questionable...

Dammit. While I've never been a huge fan of Orci, he was always the single hardcore Trek fan in the group, and there was a good chance that with him at the helm, Trek would go back more towards... well, being Trek. Which is basically what he said he wanted to do. And now the rumored replacement is Edgar Wright? Screw that. The constant insistence on jokey comedy was one of the problems with the JJ Trek films, not a plus.

This, yes. I actually wish they had just gone ahead and done it as a continuation of the DCAU Justice League, rather than tweak a script which was obviously written for the DCAU JL. It's just a thing I have about reading novels and comics on a computer. I *can* do it, but it's kind of uncomfortable. Like sitting sideways in a chair that was uncomfortable to begin with. Maybe if I had a bigger monitor so I didn't have to constantly scroll.

No joke, I played every Kingdom Hearts game this year in release order, and after all that I still literally needed a flowchart to help me figure out the story. But on the plus side, now I feel like a knowledge deity of some sort. With only very, very specific knowledge.
