  1. Yet another reason to wait for the trades. The price of trades will probably stay the same as now, but we'll technically be getting either 30% more content per volume or the same amount of content 30% faster.
  2. They're keeping the same style because they found basic designs they liked (the ones from Crisis on Two Earths and Young Justice) and they keep the costumes mostly the same because they have a "continuity" now.
  3. Amazon Prime also has BTAS, STAS, and the first 5 or 6 seasons of Star Trek: TNG in their new HD remasters from the blu-ray sets.
  4. Those animated versions of the New 52 suits still look horrendous, but the Throne of Atlantis story was actually pretty decent in the comics, so this might be cool. It looks like they're even adding in some Aquaman origin story stuff, which is actually pretty neat given that he's one of the few heroes whose origin story hasn't been told a thousand times over.
  5. I kinda liked this one a little less. I actually liked Selina, but the villains were a bit too silly.
  6. How about we just do Crisis on Infinite Kirks and be done with it?
  7. Still though, there's a very big difference between "Inque is sorta like Clayface" and "Terry's dad was killed by the grandson of the guy who killed Bruce's parents. And he also has almost the exact same name." The only way it could have been worse is if he was named Joe Chill the third. It also sucks because Mr. Fixx, even though he was only in the first two episodes, was a really cool villain. His fight with Terry is one of the iconic moments from the show.
  8. Wait, are you implying that he didn't know about the War Doctor beforehand? I was under the impression that he never literally forgot about the War Doctor, he just preferred not to think about him. Doctors 10 and 11 both recognized the War Doctor when he hopped out of the time vortex in Day of the Doctor. I'm actually more confused about why he hates soldiers because of Day of the Doctor. In that episode, it's revealed that he saved the people of Gallifrey; he didn't kill them. So why would he be more self-loathing now than when he thought he was a mass murderer?
  9. I kinda think Selina seeing the murder of the Waynes and sort of stalking Bruce is a neat idea. In the comics, they have this connection where it seems like they're the only two that really understand one another; that makes more sense if Selina was present at that moment in Bruce's life. Also, if she's the only living witness aside from Bruce, that will eventually tie her into Gordon's investigation. They're clearly setting her up to be a part of both storylines, Bruce's and Gordon's. But that said, I'd rather that they not do that, since we'll probably end up in Smallville territory where Lois knew Clark's identity before he had a secret identity. But whatever.
  10. That's not what I meant. When Star Wars is done right, it can/should appeal to everyone, even if kids are the target. What I meant was that I don't know if it'd be a good idea to trade a childhood experience of watching Star Wars for an adult one, since the kid experience is almost guaranteed to be better. There's also the fact that Star Wars has influenced so much other culture that it might be strange to watch everything out of order. I know someone who saw Spaceballs literally dozens of times before she ever saw Star Wars, so when she finally saw SW her experience was a bit "meh."
  11. That might actually be problematic, since Star Wars is largely meant for kids.
  12. Well, yeah, Smallville's pilot is pretty great, especially the opening scene.
  13. The 1-hour Star Wars Rebels premiere is online via Watch Disney XD for cable TV subscribers. (so naturally it should be shortly, erm, "liberated" to the internet as a whole) Non-spoilery thoughts: -Tons of fun -All the characters area really well-handled. -The influence of Dave Filoni (Clone Wars) and Greg Weissman (Young Justice, Spectacular Spidey) are both very apparent. -If Clone Wars was George Lucas's way of constantly experimenting with the SW universe, then Rebels is the fans' way of returning to the classic feel. -There are slightly too many lines and musical themes lifted directly from the Original Trilogy, but then again it's probably better to be "too much" like classic Star Wars than not enough. -I kinda feel bad for the stormtroopers. So many of them die. They're like popcorn. On the whole I really liked it. It has that classic gunslinging adventure fun of A New Hope, which is pretty great.
  14. You must really only watch the top 1% of TV pilots, then.
  15. I pretty much agree with most everything Preston said. I'm very pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.
  16. It's between him and John Shea, though Rosenbaum is definitely more nuanced and realistic.
  17. The interesting thing is that Berlanti is working on it, so it may end up in a weird place where it's in continuity with Arrow and Flash but they can't do proper crossovers.
  18. The companions are the audience's viewpoint characters and they're the ones who develop the most, thus they are, in a sense, the main characters. It doesn't diminish the Doctor's importance.
  19. I've literally described it to people as "more fun than Borderlands." It's funny; if you look at a lot of reviews, everyone will cite the same facts about the game and either say, "this is why Destiny is disappointing" or "this is why Destiny is so much fun." I'm one of the people that really enjoys the basic gameplay, so I'm really happy with it overall. There are things I like less than others (loot drops need some work, the Tower is too small, etc), but I'm having lots of fun on the whole.
  20. I actually would say the exact opposite. A lot of the hardcore Halo fans who wanted more Halo were the ones that were disappointed. Destiny is basically a not-quite-MMORPG with emphasis on levels, damage numbers, experience points, and other stats, wrapped in a modern shooter gameplay shell. Some have said it's almost more similar to Diablo, and I think that's roughly accurate. The PVP multiplayer, though, is definitely more Halo-like because of the way it balances players equally.
  21. I am literally playing it right now. I love it.
  22. Yeah, it's good news all around. XV has been in development for almost a decade anyway; KH3 needs some love.
