  1. The question is if Mike keeps that material. I would guess not since that would be a lot of room on his hard drive for something that might just be excessive coughing or an off-topic convo on the price of fish at Whole Foods.
  2. 29! Wooo! Those brats are going down like it ain't no thang! What? I get excited over a little physical violence.

Even the rickshaw? Is it sad the only reasons I want to go to San Fransisco is to get my picture taken in front of the Full House house (that's oddly repetitive.) or to have some authentic Rice-a-Roni?
  4. It's definitely on my radar; dates? And pre-reg info? It all depends on how quickly I can make the $ to pay tuition for spring term. C2E2 is on April 16th-18th (two days after my birthday) and pre-reg is 50 Dollars for a weekend pass and 25 for a single day. Any other info, including current guests, is available here.

Looking at some other forums I lurk at, I just noticed that we have no forum games going on here. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just a random observation. Last thing we need is an entire thread of obsessing over a game of Mafia gone horribly wrong.
  6. Casting True Resurrection on an old thread and all it took was a diamond worth 25,000 GP. So, is anyone playing in any fun games right now? I'm currently in a d20 Modern game, kinda post-post apocalyptic with a fair amount of cyberpunk influences. I'm playing our groups hacker/techie and I feel kinda bad for them because Tim Wayne (my character) is going to be killed off in a few months but they don't know about it and the new character I'm planning isn't going to make up for the fact that they've deliberately avoided any crossover with Tim's specialties. I should also find it funny that I'm the groups main source of information but the villains kinda have a slight mental hold on me, therefore keeping me from completely telling them everything I learn.
  7. I know, but I didn't want to offer up your place. I'd offer up the hotel room that we're staying in but I don't know how big the room is going to be. The place I originally picked out would have been but I don't know about the one the other guys chose when the original was booked.
  8. It's some kind of interactive, online text that requires an access code and will self-distruct in six months. Apparently it's difficult to navigate and use to complete assignments effectively. Working in a campus Bookstore, I hate it when they make us sell those things. It feels like a rip to the student and the Professor should have done the research before deciding to force it upon students. We offer digital versions of textbooks in the store as well as the limited online versions for a couple books as well in addition to the paper versions and the paper versions always sell better.

Seriously, between the Banter Forums right now and Facebook, I'm going to have to force myself to go to Bed so I can be to work by 9:30 in the morning.
  10. I always thought of you as more of the Commissioner Gordon.

Aw, thanks. We've all missed you too.
  12. Spectacular. Seriously. With critique groups and info about submission drives and commiserating. Though, I'm sure it would end up being genre-heavy, and I'm not a genre writer, so then I'd be back at square one. Even so. I tend not to write genre. I used to but fell out of the habit after half my writing professors added "No Genre Work" to the syllabus. My protagonists also tend to be unlikeable or sociopaths but oh well, it happens. Then again, not every story has to have a happy ending.
  13. Never mind, Niki already beat me to it.
  14. I do have two non-E2ers coming with me to the C2E2 so unless they decide to go out drinking by themselves whatever night we do the Earth-2 Meet & Greet (A possibility. They are drinkers), I'll have a couple of stowaways with me.
  15. You probably know this already, because I think I mentioned it on MAP, but Nami was my teacher this past semester. I love Nami. I love her personality, her teaching style (she's tough as nails), and her writing. I waited until the end of the semester to read her book, and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to have someone else to talk about this book with. Also, I got the sweetest little note from her when she signed my copy of the book. She did a signing at Wright State last spring and I bought a copy after work since we had left over copies. I liked the one story we read from it for class that quarter (The Christmas One.). Keep on meaning to, it's just one of those things that I just never get around to.
  16. Are we thinking a bar near the con, hanging out at someone's house, or a restaurant then? We have a little over three months to figure out the logistics.
  17. I would but classes start tomorrow and the only book I got around to reading since break had begun was Blood Rites by Jim Butcher which I technically had started back in August. Maybe I'll get something outside of a textbook read before the quarter is over. I only have about twenty books sitting around I still need to read. I Blame having a Half-Price book right next door. Maybe if I make a list it'll be easier. Okay, by 2010, I swear half the books in the following list will be read. If not, then, I dunno, I'll post a video to YouTube of me lipsynching Poker Face dressed as something absurd. Maybe Rape Whistle Ronald. Small Gods by Terry Pratchett The Sign of Haruhi Suzumiya by Nagaru Tanigawa When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Watson (Counts as Three Books) Official Book Club Selection by Kathy Griffin Casino Royale by Ian Flemming Peter & Max by Bill Willingham The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe Miles From Nowhere by Nami Mun A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess Straight Man by Richard Russo The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker Straight Man by Richard Russo Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde Snuff by Chuck Palahnuk The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon The Gunslinger by Stephen King So yeah, if I can't get at least ten books on this list read in 12 months, I'll make a Rape Whistle Ronald costume and lip sync "Poker Face". I think that's good motivation.
  18. There are two new episodes scheduled for the 14th.
  19. Over on the Wiki page for the Wonder Woman movie, a user has recently included the Earth-2 discussion of Wonder Woman under the Reception section found here. Worth noting while it's there.
  20. Angel Annual #1: I now know the reason I've been holding off on this one. I know it's supposed to read like a bad tie-in since it's a parody of them but, at the same time, it really feels like it's trying to be more clever than it actually is. Fall of the Hulks Alpha: Surprisingly, I liked this one. It boils down to using a clever idea that Marvel had (The Illuminati) and then continuing to run it into the ground with yet another such group. Still, it was well written and if it weren't for the fact that it's setting up yet another event with the Hulk, I would have greatly enjoyed it. Comic Books: 2 (1 Marvel, 1 IDW) TPBs: 0 HCs: 0 Graphic Novels: 0
  21. You are a better person than I. After getting frustrated, I figured it'd be easier to start over on Proud Mode to get the secret ending. It was.
  22. Through no fault but my own, I got dropped from my classes for Winter Term and my writing class is filled up. I'm going to e-mail the prof my problem and hope she'll let me in the class since she does know me. If not, then I'm taking a class on diversity and religion.
  23. Will do. I'm half thinking of getting a baby carrier and taking Rape-Whistle Ronald around with me, see how many people I can freak out.
  24. I was wondering what conventions everyone was planning on going to this coming year. I figured this would more easily allow people going to the same con to meet up, hang out, and, if necessary, plan out lodging plans. I am currently planning on going to (outside of the two tiny local gaming conventions): Ohayocon: Columbus, OH Jan. 29-31 though I'm only going to on the 30th and maybe the 31st. Gem City Comiccon: Dayton, OH April 5th. Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo: Chicago, April 16-18 Origins Game Fair: Columbus, OH June 22nd-27th thought I don't know what dates I'm going to attend. Gen Con: Indianapolis, Indiana August 5-8 though I don't know what days I'm planning on going there also. Mid-Ohio Con: Columbus, OH November 6-7
