  1. I enjoyed this episode, and I enjoyed Warwick - understated acting without being wooden, his experience really shows. About time we had a smaller companion in the TARDIS, I'd say. Can we have him back for a season? (Donna came back after guesting.) The kids? They were just kids. Most kids are a bit obnoxious. Personally I have more issues with the way they were written, though smart-alecky/wise-cracky seems to be the NuWho house style these days (years). Yeah that's something of a constant with NuWho in general. New characters are always given this stupid, self-inflated sense of superiority. S' probably why I was annoyed at Clara being in charge, because there was no apparent reason aside from "she's the companion" and yet she acted like big shit.
  2. I agree 200% with your thoughts on Iron Man 3 Ian, although I dug Iron Man 2 more due to the final battle sequence. I maintain that Steel is the worst comic book movie ever made. WAY WORSE than Batman and Robin, the Shadow and various others. It didn't offend me or make me mad when I saw it (almost ten years ago last I can recall) but it just came off soooo crappy. Mebbe I'll go back towards it for laughs.
  3. I dug Nightmare in Silver by and large, but those kids were obnoxious as shit. I also think Clara is a bit too uppity. Perhaps it's due to her multiple character we've seen throughout the season, but she comes off as super cool in situations that had the Ponds screaming. I would prefer her to be a bit more freaked out at the possibility of a war with Cybermen.
  4. I've been fortunate to have briefly met and interviewed Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy, Stana Katic, Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano, Glen Murakami, Greg Weisman and Steve Wacker. This was all at SDCC 2011 and 2012. I met Dan Didio w/in 5 minutes of walking in on Preview Night. Spoke to Neal Adams. He was a douche. Didn't take the time to look up at me despite sitting alone at a table inking a Thor picture. Met Todd Nauck twice, both times at SDCC. Incredibly nice guy. Took the time out to talk with me for almost an hour the first year, and remembered me and signed my copy of Young Justice #1 the second year. I saw John Barrowman far away at last year's SDCC, but the fans formed a huge crowd. Saw Stan Lee at a panel with Todd MacFarlene that was a mile wide.
  5. Peter Purves and others argue that Doctor Who is too unnecessarily sexy. http://www.avclub.com/articles/doctor-who-is-too-sexy-and-complicated-now-argues,96272/
  6. Gad, that is not a nice face to look at for the cover art. This is the first I've really noticed Billie Piper's surgery.
  7. Shivers are always better than shudders! This thing looks to be quite awesome.
  8. I actually voted the Master because even if his scripts weren't great I love the potential his character promises. And Simm had some great moments with Tennant in "End of Time" I thought. Like the beginning of part 2.
  9. Yeah, I could never pretend to hate Judge Dredd, as it's one of those funs dumb 90s movies that had it all. Stallone, annoying sidekick, overblown plot and action. I actually though Armand Assante did a good hammy job with what he was given. IDK, maybe it's because of the "so bad it's good" aspect of "LAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  10. I liked it alright. I heard people didn't so mebbe I went in with low expectations. It wasn't bad, but just sorta there. The last act though was awesome. LOVED Matt Smith's speech at the end.
  11. God this was funny. I had heard of "Bare-Wench Project" before, but all the rest of those movies sounded like Simpsons spoofs of porno flicks. Like he wasn't even trying with those names.
  12. Bawww you guys are no fun. I liked the scene at the end with the Doctor and the gun. I agree that Martha served no real purpose and that quicksand scene was laughable. Did you guys know about this?
  13. I'm expecting to see a lot of people roll their eyes and cross their arms at the news that Tennant and Rose will be back. I suppose I see an argument for it being too soon or something, but seeing as how it'll be the 50th anniversary I can't help but imagine that all the stops will be pulled and that it'll be awesome. I'm really looking forward to it.
  14. Loved this episode. This movie blows.
  15. Seriously speaking, I'm happy for him. He's really not done all that much comparatively speaking since the end of JLU and has been Executive Producing the DC movies. He was doing GL:TAS, and that just ended. I always got the sense that he'd been typecast as the guy who's Mr. DC Comics and was up for working on any character, when he's really a bigger Marvel fan and has said he's had ideas for creator owned properties.
  16. NEVER THOUGHT I'D LIVE TO SEE THE DAY...
  17. Honestly, anything to draw her away from Batgirl.
  18. I might agree that Rises is his weakest film, but it's funny to me how lately online people seem to take that sentiment and extrapolate it to say it's a flat out bad film. To which...I don't see how that can be said. Batman Begins, The Prestige and the Dark Knight are three of my favorite movies of all time. The Prestige in particular is such an awesome, kickass movie that delivers on the premise of Batman and Wolverine as dueling magicians.
  19. Getting a namecheck from Ian Wilson, then having the one-two puch with Pandy's e-mail made me smile. Also reminded with this episode I much I like the 4th season/series theme. Currently that's my favorite variation aside from the 80s JNT one.
  20. Day just sucked out loud. Long-ass 9 hour shift at work with zero break. Reason being that nobody in the entire restaurant knew how to work the coffee including the new manager, so I had to stand and wait for the customers who never came and starve to death instead of leaving early since we barely had any business. After that is a 3 hour spanish class I'm taking Wednesday nights. Come home to test my recording software I use for podcasts, and for some reason I can't pick up the other person's voice. I use Powergramo to record and Audacity to edit, and either PWRGRMO just picks up my voice or Audacity just picks up the other person's voice. I have gone over it again and again, and I'm set to record tomorrow. FTS
  21. Oh God, I cannot wait for this
  22. Not sure how this will be recieved, but I've got to be honest. I really wish Mike wouldn't complain during a synopsis of a story he doesn't like, as it slows the show down a lot. This and the synopsis for "Survival" were saved by Dan in that, he still got across the idea that the episodes were bad but described what happens in a way that was both accurate and funny. I did not care for Mike saying "I don't know, I don't care" as it comes across to me at least as though everyone's time is just being wasted. Maybe in the future you guys should just switch synopsizing duties more often to keep the flow going.
