  1. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he returned because, hey, the movie just aren't realistic. More believable than the conventional comic book film, sure. But realiatic? No. So him coming back wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
  2. It didn't hit me until 30 minutes into it. Awesome.
  3. One of my favorite talking points is when Mike and James discussed "Jimmy" on Static Shock. I think it's the most serious the show has ever gottenin terms of frank discussion. Ian's final clip segment may top that though, because his first few lines had me on the floor laughing, and it only got better from there.
  4. Also, some scenes like Gambol's death were deliberately shot the way they were because Nolan wanted a PG-13 rating. He has said that he wanting to push the film far, but not over the edge so kids could still see a Batman movie.
  5. Well done guys, as always. The 5 people dead thing has always been the one thing that no one I know can figure it out, and someone told me that Nolan intentionally kept that vague which is a bit of a cheat admittedly. In terms of the scoring, I do enjoy BB a bit more than this because it is more accessable and it feels more like Batman. At the same time the quality of the storytelling and the iconic performances do make this a better film in my opinion.
  6. Ohhhh, R.I.P. He had to be in his 90s. Easily the best cast of all the characters.
  7. Ian's "F U" dream sequence at the beginning made me cry of laughter. I was pleasently surprised you guys both listed Static Shock relatively high. *EDIT* I'm still listening, and this is going by very fast. An hour and a half left!
  8. I love the Tala impression, because her voice is easily the most ridiculous in the entire DCAU. And that was apparently all on purpose when voice by Juliett Landau (I believe).
  9. I too was pleasently surprised by the Social Network. I dunno if it'll win best picture, but it sure would deserve it.
  10. So if this is the last of all the episodes, and the next one is the JL/JLU final coverage, what's gonna be 100?
  11. First TT episode I've downloaded and... I gotta say, I'm a big Street Fighter fan and Chun Li is my favorite character aside from Ryu. So I obviously avoided this movie like the Clench. But hearing you guys bent over and taking it...especially Damien. I gotta thank you three for suffering so I didn't have too. And the line "I don't care if Chelsea Handler blew you in the back of a bar, you're not someone special!" may be the best podcast quote of 2011 to date. Bravo.
  12. I think it was a show that's great if you look at it through the same eyes that you had when you were ten, but it doesn't really hold up like the DCAU does. (or X-men: TAS) Not to shill for myself, but I'm inclined to disagree. http://www.spidermancrawlspace.com/wordpress/category/videos/spider-man-1994-tv-series/
  13. I keep thinking back to how James, Mike and Ian said in their Batman and Robin review how Bane was now radioactive. Nolan now plans to resurrect the guy in the minds of mainstream audiences.
  14. The GL sound loop is on the dvds only. Not from the original episode.
  15. On the whole Mercy thing, Lex obviously wasn't letting on his douchebaggery out and out to anyone but with people in Cadmus. She didn't seem overly happy to work for him again, but I honestly believe she thought he had turned around. So she was working for him yes, but to her perspective he wasn't doing anything wrong.
  16. Yeah that was dumb. Damien is actually a lot more developed through Batman and Robin. People who see and write him SOLELY as the kid who first appeared in Batman and Son shouldn't see that as his character.
  17. Off the top of my knowledge, her mother Arella and the Teen Titans.
  18. Oh this is going to suck. I'm not a fan pf the revamped Geoff Johns Raven, because that to me seems to go too far away from her character established in the Wolfman/Perez days. This will blow chucks because it's the CW. High school, **** drama, pretty white people with problems. **** this.
  19. During Batman and Robin, Damien's softened up a lot to the point where's he just an asshole. He'll save kids lives and all that, that's not out of character for him.
  20. Many thanks! That was one of the hardest things to decide upon. In that Frank Millar used to be quite good and now isn't, when exactly did he jump the shark? Sin City was the last great thing he wrote, Dark Knight Strikes Again was the point where he tipped over into suck. Well, not exactly suck exactly but it was the point where his constant self-indulgence really harmed the story. Agreed. DKSA was in '01, ans it's abysmal. Sin City was where I think he broke, but that type of insanity really worked well for the story. It did NOT for Dark Knight Strikes Again. Cool episode, althought I think Mazuchelli's art was better in Born Agin compared to Year One. Just a difference of opinion, but I found it much cleaner and dynamic. Totally agree about the end of Born Again though, it did derail after Cap shows up. But until then and even after it's still brilliantly written.
