  1. That wasn't AzBats, that was an Elseworlds future Batman costume. Also, the in-joke with Damien's sidekick/son was that he was voiced by Dederich Bader's son.
  2. Ian's outta nowhere rant on Glee made me LOL, as did his selling out and final words concerning it to close the show out. Awesome job man.
  3. Bruce Timm asked his permission to do it, and Moore responded encouragingly, saying he'd be interested in how they interpret it. But Timm said he never got a response from Moore back after the episode premiered.
  4. Best: Under the Red Hood. The best comic book animated adaptation. Worst: Public Enemies. The worst comic book animated adaptation.
  5. This is gonna be awesome...
  6. Like the Rebirth of the Cool miniseries started out with Virgil retired, I'm betting the new series will start out with him de-powered. Picking it up nonetheless.
  7. http://teentitans.toonzone.net/tt/reviews/thequest/07.jpg Actually the year is altered to match Gar's first appearance. But awesome nonetheless.
  8. Casablanca's one of the few movies I can say really lives up to the hype. Saw it at a film festival a couple of years ago freshman year of college, and I really enjoyed it! I also love the theme.
  9. I never watched the original series, but I thought that this was easily one of the all time worst movies I have ever seen in my life. The acting 98% across the board was bland at best and awful at worst, the dialogue helped none of it, the pacing was bad, and the plot all over the place in that I could berely register exactly what was going on. That being said, the source material was strong enough to keep my interest, and I did enjoy seeing the film. Partly based on how fascinated I was by how bad I found it to be.

    Episode 156

I think Hamill is perfectly evil throughout B:TAS, when the stories were dark. Like in Laughing Fish and MOTP. He's evil as much as the script will allow him, and I think because Dimaggio's Joker got to be more vicious does not automatically make him a better Joker than Hamill's. It's not like I couldn't envision Hamill's Joker doing the things that Dimaggio's Joker did. I also fail to see any references to the Killing Joke in the film. There's that one line about the friends Joker's crippled which obviously references Barbara, but that was a line from the comic. Any other themes from the Killing Joke I just didn't not see in Under the Red Hood. IMO the film was 90% the same as the original comic. Also, while I thought NPH did a perfectly fine job as Nightwing, I thought there were times when he was written as though he was still Robin. I mean, come on, would he really think Batman would just put putty into A.M.A.Z.O's eyes randomly? I really think he's a lot quicker than that. There were little moments I thought Dick jobbed to the writing, but they weren't every line of dialogue. I think he was written generally well, but by no means perfectly. Still, I too really enjoyed this movie. I totally agree with the over-abundance of explosives but I loved the dramatic storytelling. I loved the little things like how they never stopped and said what Jason's origin was, but it was inferred at to where the audience could ascertain what it was. Also the Riddler was played by Bruce Timm, so Robin kicked BT in the nuts.
  11. And for one final time, I spend money on a crappy Marvel Comic book.

    I'm engaged!

    Congradulations sir!
  13. Chew's great. I have both trades and issues 11 and 12.
  14. Like I said before, Haunted is my all time favorite and I do really think the best one of the series personally. Both the Terra two parter and the "The End" three parters I felt seriously copped out where the comic book excelled at by being a little contrived, good as they were in their own rights. This episode does not hold back and you guys are right, Robin REALLY WAS gonna die. Totally agree about Scott Menville's excellent acting and Slade being at his most vicious ever. This episode rawked, and I only wish you guys spent more time discussing it! Still, wholeheartedly agree.
  15. It may not be a nod necessarily, but it's certainly remniscent of Ditko. In fact, he told that to Marv Wolfman who with George Perez inspired this very show!
  16. I could spend 30+ minutes before each set of reviews talking about MLB and the NFL. Rounders and padded rugby?! I'll pass on that front.... As to the episode, I haven't seen all that much Teen Titans (despite it being in DCAU continuity) but the Terra arc sounds suitably dark, given the source material. Should we assume that the announced Titans movie (was it "Judas Contract?") is never going to see the light of day? It was gonna happen, but something came up around the New Frontier timing where Bruce Timm came out and said it was completely scrapped. I like the Second Season Finale, but it can't be denied that as any sort of adaptation of the actual Judas Contract story it was gutted. Terra in the comics was insane and utterly detested the Teen Titans. We never learn exactly why, but that point is driven home. I thought the throwaway line of searching for a way to reverse her transformation was weak, but as it pertains to the cartoon, it was cool. My favorite episode that I remember is Haunted in season 4, that episode is pitch-black in tone. But you guys aren't there yet...
  17. LOL that a great band name. This is the first podcast I've listened to that has ended, and it's doubly sad as it's pretty much tied with Spider-Man Crawlspace as my favorite. I can always listen back to the previous eps as I tend to do anyway, but the excitement of new life in the show's history is now done and all great things must come to an end. Messers. Wilson and Fisher, I salute you
  18. Many Happy Returns Deja!
  19. Having youtube'd all of them, the top three for me are easily from 5 to 6, 9 to 10, and 10 to 11. Tennant's regen to Smith is my favorite personally, but Davidson's to Baker is very classic and cool in and of itself.
  20. Michael Jai White in ANYTHING is awesome, but this looks to be pretty good. Still need Cary Tagawa's Shang Tsung tho. "YOU SOUL IS MINE!!!"
  21. Great episode! Helped me get through work!
