Venneh
Why yes, that is Tom Waits and Keith Richards singing Shenandoah. Also included on the album: Shane McGowan slurring his way through the Leaving of Liverpool. Best album I've never heard of.
Dread
I present, entirely without comment, this video for James mostly:
Dread
Metal lost a titan yesterday. RIP Jeff Hanneman of Slayer. One of the most prolific songwriters and lead guitarists of metal. One of the creators of the thrash metal subgenre. My favorite song is South of Heaven, but his favorite song was Raining Blood and this amazing performance proves that:
James D.
I present, entirely without comment, this video for James mostly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=K2SD2YNL2qY'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=K2SD2YNL2qY Those are the most apathetic hardcore dancing kids I've ever seen. They like run up to someone or something as if they're going to punch it, and just kind of stop, "Ah, fuck it." Maybe it's the huge bags of weed they show to the camera... Guest
Saw that last week. Female violinists are becoming my new weakness.
Koete
The Replacements are reuniting for three shows in Chicago, Toronto, and Denver. The sound you hear is me trying to figure out how I can afford the ticket.

JackFetch
This guy is pretty amazing, and the song is catchy as fuck. http://youtu.be/8SKPHTo_0UQ
Stavros
Now that is impressive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z92WO6C6Q78 I know you posted this a while ago, but I hardly ever check the music thread. I'm a big fan of Ellie Goulding right now ever since hearing the single Lights last year. Halcyon was a great album.

Guest
Spent most of the week going through the Kyuss discography. I adore Josh Homme's old work as much as I'm indifferent to his current stuff.

Dread
I thought I already posted this here. This is fucking transcendent in every way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkYvrIJ7qtc More than 2 minutes to get to the chorus, but worth every heart-grinding second. Missy
I think I used their version of Final Countdown in one of our Countdown episodes.
Dread
Did you? I think I sent it to you recently, but I don't remember that one being used. But perhaps I blocked it out as I did much of the Countdown era.
Missy
Yeah, I think that's it.
slothian
Spent most of the week going through the Kyuss discography. I adore Josh Homme's old work as much as I'm indifferent to his current stuff. How current are we talking? I didn't care much for Era Vulgaris, Them Crooked Vultures completely passed me by and I've not listened to any of this year's QOTSA output. Every QOTSA album before that I've loved/very much enjoyed.
Dread
I would say that I haven't enjoyed anything Homme has done since Songs for the Deaf (which I loved). But I also have not bothered listening to the new album yet.
