Though it's certainly not as awful as, say, Chinese Democracy, it's pretty easily Metallica's equivalent to that album. Some of the songs I actually do like as much, or even more, than I did back when it was released ("Frantic" is fucking awesome and "Shoot Me Again" is certainly enjoyable), but for the most part, I can't even listen to several of them. I see what they were trying to go for (and at least it was consistent in its sound) and it was a tumultuous time for them, but, yeah......yeesh.
