JackFetch
Warner Bros. Pictures has set up the DC Comics property Suicide Squad for Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) to produce as a potential franchise. In a departure from normal comic-based fare, Suicide Squad concentrates on a group of incarcerated supervillains rather than the usual focus on superheroes. The first version of the squad debuted in a 1959 DC Comic, and a series was launched in 1987. Stephen Gilchrist from Lin Pictures will co-produce. Justin Marks (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Hack/Slash) is penning the screenplay. Suicide Squad will feature a mix of well-known and unknown villains recruited by the government to accomplish a task deemed too dangerous for superheroes. The historically independent operators must bury their own interpersonal conflicts and agendas to form a cohesive unit to take on a singular task. http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=8119
Delete
A movie likely to have Deadshot in it will always get a thumbs up from me.
Dread
Could be greatness. One of my all-time favorite comics!

Stavros
Maybe it is just because it is my favorite comic right now, but I would really like a Secret Six movie too. Much as I like Catman you can't present him in a live action feature. I do wish Catman was involved in the battle for the cowl though, he'd be an interesting vigilante to add to Gotham. JackFetch
It will be made after all: The Justice League movie may still be floundering in production limbo, but DC Comics have given the go-ahead to a filmic adaptation of Suicide Squad. Producer Dan Lin, who has scored big with the doing-well Sherlock Holmes movie, has revealed that he is working on the Suicide Squad movie while Justice League is put on the backburner. [Justice League] is on hold right now as DC sorts out its strategy, the movie mogul told Collider magazine. But it seems like theyre building to Justice League instead of going with the team movie first and doing individual movies after that. The only other [comic book movie] besides Justice League that Im working on is the Suicide Squad. Thats a different kind of superhero movie. For us thats a super villain movie. Its almost Dirty Dozen set in the world of supervillains. Thats the only one for me thats on the front burner. http://www.totalfilm.com/news/suicide-squad-movie-in-the-works
Molly
The more Deadshot, the better.
grahamvidger
Maybe it is just because it is my favorite comic right now, but I would really like a Secret Six movie too. Much as I like Catman you can't present him in a live action feature. I do wish Catman was involved in the battle for the cowl though, he'd be an interesting vigilante to add to Gotham. He was in Battle For The Cowl. This is what Secret Six would sort of look like in live action.
Mortimer
Unless they throw in famous characters that the general public is already familiar with, like the Joker or Lex Luthor, I don't see this happening. If it featured villains like Deadshot or Captain Boomerang, it would flop tremendously at the box office because most people have no idea who these characters are. That's too much of a gamble for a movie studio.
SuaveStar
It could work, but your right, without people they know, most people won't watch it. But if they got Kevin Spacey for Deadshot, I would fucking squee in my pants.
grahamvidger
I'd want Jeffrey Dean Morgan for Deadshot, although it would be a little too familiar of role for him to play. If you have seen Watchmen, you would know what I am talking about. Also he's from Seattle. Philip Seymour Hoffman for Captain Boomerang. dc20willsave
Will Smith, Tom Hardy, and Margot Robbie are all potentially up for roles. Already guessing, Bronze Tiger, Deadshot, and either Plastique or Harley respectfully. I'll be impressed when they announce Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. Dread
Ryan Gosling would be an amazing Deadshot.
dc20willsave
Margot Robbie is officially playing Harley Quinn. Also, rumors have been flying that Warners is after Jared Leto for The Joker. I'm happy about Robbie for Harley but do we really need The Joker? I mean, I like the Joker but, no, not as a main character. It would be like if we spent all of a Friday the 13th with Jason.
Molly
She was solid in Wolf of Wall Street. She's not my ideal Harley, but I'm interested to see what she brings to the role. As far as Joker goes, let him make an appearance here to set him up for the eventual Batman movie, but the idea of actually sending the Joker on a mission is foolish as hell. Dread
The right way to go is to make him a side character, motivation for Harley's insanity. They do it pretty well in the animated Suicide Squad movie (Batman: Assault on Arkham).
JasonC
The only movie I've ever seen where someone as Boomerang puts it. "Outcrazies The Joker"
