JackFetch
Yes, they are still making these things. Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter are both returning. For an inside look at the filming follow Milla's spoiler filled Twiiter. http://twitter.com/millajovovich
KnightWing
I think Milla is the only reason to see these movies. Admittedly, it's a pretty good reason. Does anyone else think it's a crime that she wasn't cast as Black Widow in Iron Man 2? I mean, she looks like a real-life clone of Natasha Romanov, has decent acting ability, and speaks fluent Russian.

ShaunKL
Everyone says this is crap, but I have a soft spot for the fact that this series introduced me to zombie movies.
KnightWing
That looks like the ultimate 3D gimmick crap action movie. And I really really wanna see it now. (the swords did it for me)
Chadzilla
My inner child went "YAY!!!!!" when I saw the trailer. So, yeah...I will be making contribution to the film's opening weekend box office tally.

Chadzilla
The first one is a guilty pleasure, but I must fess up to loving Resident Evil: Apocalypse, if only because it has Jill Valentine and Nemesis (my two favorite characters from the game) in it. dc20willsave
Just realized it has Wesker in it. Might see it just for my favorite character in the series. Yes, I know something is wrong with me for liking Wesker, okay? It's complicated.

Stavros
Good god, I watched the trailer and my brain vomited. I once had to sit through the first two in a row, which means it started out promising and then went to shit. To be honest I'd be intrigued to see Extinction and Afterlife, since my tolerance for shit films has gone way up recently, but I still don't think this series merited all these sequels. Aaron Robinson
Step 1. Make some zombies. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. World domination.
dc20willsave
Yeah, I don't think Umbrella has ever had an actual business plan. They're worse at this than Weyland-Yutani. At least Cyberdyne was at one point the manufacturer of computers and things that mostly helped people.
Guest
Try being a Silent Hill fan and dating a Resident Evil fan who is convinced that the story is a work of fucking genius... for four years.

JackFetch
Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Afterlife dominated the box office this weekend, earning an estimated $27.7 million from 3,203 theaters domestically and another $45.5 million in 35 international markets for a worldwide total of $73.2 million. Made for $60 million, the Paul W.S. Anderson sequel stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe, Wentworth Miller and Sienna Guillory. The $27.7 million opening marked the best of the franchise, topping 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction ($23.7 million). The third film finished with $51 million domestically and $97 million overseas for a worldwide total of $147.7 million. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=69730 Wow. I was not expecting it to make that much. Goes to show what you can do when there isn't anything else worth seeing.
slothian
Ugh, that's the kind of news that allows Paul WS Anderson to make more films of the same film.
