RSS
It's Christmastime, and Dan and Jonathan are here to cover three truly awful Christmas specials: "Cobra CLAWs Are Coming to Town" (GI Joe: A Real American Hero), He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special, and "Have Yourself a Morlock Little X-Mas" (X-Men). dc20willsave
I actually watched Cobra CLAWS the other night. Holy Christ it's bad. Yeah, you guys were just missing Christmas Comes to Pac-Land (which is worse than He-Man and She-ra for my money) for sheer shit in this one. James D.
Do you guys always open with Squirrel Nut Zippers? They're one of my most favorite bands ever!
Dan
Yeah, "Suits are Picking Up the Bill" has been the theme since the first segment.
James D.
This is the first one I've downloaded. It's quite funny. Really good stuff.
slothian
Episode 590: Kellen & Will talk up X-Men: The Animated Series Episode 593: Dan & Jonathan talk down X-Men: The Animated Series I'm amused! And hoping this culminates in a fight....
Dan
No fight is necessary. Kellen and Will are mistaken. The Universe agrees with me.
jlabonte1974
No, Dan and I are right . X-men was bad. No offense.

Dan
Today's Cracked has an article about the four craziest Christmas-themed episodes/specials from 80s cartoons. Two of them were shows we covered. (A third was Pac-Land, which... ugh.)
dc20willsave
Some good Christmas themes episodes of animated shows: -"A Pinky and The Brain Christmas", Pinky and the Brain -"Skeletons in the Closet", GI Joe (technically a Solstice episode but meh) -"The Most Horrible X-mas Ever", Invader Zim -"Just Like Old Times", Where on Earth is Carmen SanDiego -"A Christmas Cruella", 101 Dalmatians: The Series
You Know Who
X-Men: The Animated Series was my gateway drug into the X-Men and the Marvel universe as a whole, but I will concede that it hasn't aged nearly as gracefully as other cartoons of its kind; even so, it is better than the 90s Spider-Man cartoon and the painfully bland X-Men: Evolution. Dan
The 90s Spider-Man series was godawful.
Koete
I think godawful is a bit strong. It's not on the same level as Spider-Man Unlimited or the Avengers show.
slothian
I liked the opening credits of the 90s Spider-Man series, but the show itself was a poorly animated soap opera.
Professor
Godawful is 100% correct. Poorly animated and the non-stop 'thought balloons' of Peter are so very grating. It was the first thing I tried to watch on Netflix and I couldn't make it through one episode. Just horrid.
dc20willsave
Some good Christmas themes episodes of animated shows: -"A Pinky and The Brain Christmas", Pinky and the Brain -"Skeletons in the Closet", GI Joe (technically a Solstice episode but meh) -"The Most Horrible X-mas Ever", Invader Zim -"Just Like Old Times", Where on Earth is Carmen SanDiego -"A Christmas Cruella", 101 Dalmatians: The Series Totally forgot "Holly Jolly Secrets" from Adventure Time. Dan
"Skeletons in the Closet" is as outrageously goofy as most other G.I. Joe episodes and can be a hell of a lot of fun. Of COURSE Destro and Lady Jaye are distant cousins, and of COURSE she inherited the Destro family castle, and of COURSE there's a Lovecraftian Old One living in the cellar.
