Fans of Arrow have already met Barry Allen. Now say hello to The Flash!

Thats Grant Gustin wearing the famous red and yellow in the first image to be released from The CWs new pilot, The Flash.

The costume for The Flash was designed by three-time Oscar® winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costume for Arrow and whose motion picture credits include Academy Awards® for her work on Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago, as well as seven additional Oscar® nominations for films such as Snow White and the Huntsman, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Sleepy Hollow.

The Flash pilot is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter (all of whom also executive produce Arrow). Nutter is directing from a script by Berlanti & Kreisberg & DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. Production on the pilot begins next week.

I went and watched his intro episode of Arrow. It was fun. Barry Allen was fun. I think the universe just broke.

I pretty much expected the costume to consist of a red hoodie or jacket and not much else, like a less ostentatious version of what Bart Allen had on Smallville. But a legit superhero cowl, lightning bolt ears and all? So happy.

Looks good. Is there any chance this doesnt get picked up? Arrow and Flash would be a good 1 2 punch on Wednesdays.

There's always a chance (see: Mercy Reef and Amazon), but it sounds like WB is excited about working with this kid, this project has been getting a ton of buzz, and he was pretty winning on Arrow.

And he's said on Twitter that he's been reading the Buccellato-Manapul Flash run. I haven't seen his appearance on Arrow yet but I am soooo jazzed.

That and imagining most people sound like Charlie Brown's teacher gets me through every day.

Excellent, you'll be stealing the show in his debut feature film in no time.

It looks a little wonky now, but I still like it. I have to see it in motion and with the SFX to comment.
