S-T
Ugh. I forgot Twelve Rounds 3 was in my Netflix queue. I meant to remove it before my next disc shipped but didn't get around to it.I don't have high hopes. On the bright side, I might have a new movie to suggest for the Real Protagonists in a couple days.(I like the first Twelve Rounds.) teenalphabro
There's been more than the first one? Wow, that's. Something.
SteveJRogers
I'm sure after this month it will be some time until the superhero genre comes up again, but Steel should be on the short list.
slothian
Doesn't correspond with the "no comedies" rule. Because Steel's bloody funny!!

James D.
I believe Steel is on the list for somewhere down the road (not in 2016), but other than, like, Son of the Mask, there is no movie I want to watch less than that. Just....ugh.

Just....ugh.I would gladly sit through multiple back to back screenings of Steel if I never had to watch Son of the Mask ever again. It's a goofy bad film as opposed to a horrendous film that fails at every attempt at humour it makes.
Guest
Son of the Mask is never happening.
SteveJRogers
IIRC, the only Shaq film that can't quite fit the full on comedy genre is Blue Chips (which I'd say is just average enough not to make the Tirades cut).  Which is more standard sports movie rather than comedy, like say Jerry Maguire or Albert Brooks' Scout movie.. SteveJRogers
Another Cage request, Kiss of Death, or when David Caruso realized he was better off staying a TV cop!
SteveJRogers
This screams farva, and a good chance to add some more wrestlers to the Tiradesverse Edited April 19, 2016 by SteveJRogers
Guest
I don't know if I could watch Dolph Ziggler for over an hour straight. Â He's easily my least favorite wrestler in the world right now.
SteveJRogers
LOL! Â Fair enough! It looks like a concept from what the WWE's YouTube channel's JBL & Cole show would do. Â In fact, I'm surprised Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett aren't listed on the IMDB page, even in "uncredited" roles!
Rjoyadet
On the subject of wrestlers, have you thought of covering any of the El Santo movies that weren't riffed by MST3K?
SteveJRogers
FWIW, some Google searching of reviews says that the WWE event portion is a small part of the film, and its more your standard, paint by numbers reckless cop action flick. Â Probably too bland and generic for the Tirades treatment.
S-T
Twelve Rounds 3 isn't all that bad. It was mostly just boring. Much better than the Saw ripoff that was the second movie. Now sure what it is with Saw ripoffs in the fiction I have consumed lately. Even in the most recent Nightwing trade paperback I got (Volume 4, I believe) the antagonist (the Prankster, I think) is basically Jigsaw. Which i am sure would make Sims really happy. S-T
Of course, I was too sleepy to pay much attention to Twelve Rounds 3.Movies that are really bad often get a pass when I can barely stay awake.
Rjoyadet
Hey James and Damien, do you think news can get too caught up in pushing an agenda? or getting people frightened
Mr Mockery
I'm currently watching a film that is so Tirades worthy I can practically hear the accompanying James and Damien soundtrack. Are you fine gentlemen familiar with Stephen King's Sleepwalkers? The main cast are Brian Krause from Charmed, Mädchen Amick from Twin Peaks, Alice Kirgre and a whopping  Ben Kingsley paycheck  for Ron Pearlman.  EDITHaving just finished watching it I'm delighted to discover that it has a real protagonist and it is a cat called Clovis, who as far as I can tell is de facto town Sheriff by the end of the film.   Edited August 4, 2016 by Mr Mockery
dc20willsave
You forgot the rather squicky sex scene near the beginning of the film and how the villains would have no problem kicking a dog, then running the dog over, then beating the dog's owner to death with the dog's corpse. Mr Mockery
I also forgot to mention that Altho from Beetlejuice is a child molesting English teacher who gets his hand snapped off, the violence meted out to multiple fake cats and the one scene that has Stephen King, Tobe Hooper and Clive Barker in it. Edited August 4, 2016 by Mr Mockery

S-T
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out Of The Shadows.OK, I will admit I genuinely liked this movie. But it is a big step down from the first one and we went from 1 to eleventy billion in about three tenths of a picosecond. Not one single character behaves in a reasonable way. When you're writing a script, you have to ask yourself: If this were real, would this character act this way? TMNT 2 fails on every level in that regard - especially with Bebop and Rocksteady, who cannot even be described as characters.Yes, i know this is sci fi fantasy but characters should have believable reactions and motivations. This is just badly written.
