  1. I first felt old when I passed through a recent episode of Sesame Street. As a child my favorite character was Gordon. So much so that my favorite stuffed animal (a lion) was named Gordon. So when I saw him talking to Abby Cadabbi I noticed his mustache changed color and he had wrinkles. I wanted to yell at the screen "Who gave you permission go grow old?!!"
  2. I would not be surprised if Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls is actually a Time Lord. He keeps secrets from his grandkids as well as 11 did with Amy and Rory.
  3. I know. I've done a whole load of reading about what would really happen to someone outside without a spacesuit. I accept the thin atmosphere explanation. Its only a 2 minute sequence out of an otherwise perfect 2 hour movie. It still yanks me out. I was more distracted by the fact that Zeldana was lying like a Disney princess after her ship was destroyed. Not floating upside down or having her limbs flailing about. I was too busy being captivated by the beauty of the no suit in space sequence to care.
  4. In season six Doctor Who trolled the mudslingers. There is a scene where "Supermassive Black Hole" was playing while the Tardis was surfing a solar flare. There was not a black hole anywhere but it still seemed to be closer than having a game of thunder baseball interrupted by a dutch angle shot of three models riding a conveyer belt . . . while on roller skates. I can sympathize with Damien having Linkin Park ruined by AMV's. The worst choreographed ones were always set to Linkin Park. One song which Twilight ruined for me was Debussy's "Clair De Lune" and I cannot blame the movie for it because it was also mentioned in the book.
  5. I know James and Damien gave their opinion on Doctor Who and whovians, but if you really want to make a whovian mad claim that the franchise is turning into Twilight. Classic Doctor Who had Time Lords fighting vampires. People have been waiting for the doctor to take out vampires in the new series but it still hasn't happened.
  6. For Twilight I like the Eau de Bella bit.
  7. I thought one of the prisoners was Mel Brooks and wondered why he made a cameo there. But now that you mentioned a Troma director was behind it I realized it was Lloyd Kaufman. Fun fact: I actually told the James Gunn fact to my girlfriend, who said that she could see the connection.
  8. I remember when the 9-11 attack happened there was an emotional dark cloud over everyones heads (it didn't help I was in high school and already an angsty teenager). But when his stand up comedy aired we all felt like it was okay for us to laugh and be happy again. Thank you.
  9. I thought a good contender for Chucky would be... Mr. Sin Debut: The Talons of Weng Chiang (1977) Main Weapons: Knife Other Names : Peking Homunculus Likes: Dragon Shaped Laser cannons, Causing World War 6 Dislikes: Time Lords, the Icelandic Alliance, muscular women.
  10. Currently reading "Console Wars: Sega Nintendo and the Battle that defined a Generation." Even Nintendo fans enjoy this read. I especially liked the part where one of the people behind He-Man wrote a 17 page paper to Sega of Japan explaining all the things that needed to be changed with Sonic the hedgehog.
  11. Whenever I am at the library I wonder if a DVD I am looking at could be found on Netflix. It really annoys me when one moment movies like "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension" are available for streaming and the next moment it is not. That is probably why it is often checked out at the library.
  12. I hope your new year is taking of well.
  13. Tranya, I may try that after I have had a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
  14. It has been too long since I have seen Sleeping Beauty I remember seeing a VHS copy of Razz Matazz doing a Sleeping Beauty skit. The only reason why I remember it was because Christopher Reeves played Prince Phillip. Other than having Superman play the prince there was nothing memorable about it. Their Maleficent was named Henbane, and was boring. I heard about Anne Rice writing her own version of the story but did not know Orson Scott Card did as well.
  15. Since you mentioned the Spoony Experiment, I loved his review of Yor: Hunter of the Future. I can see James and Damien devoting at least fifteen minutes to the theme song.
  16. When i drove from Florida I was entertained by "Wait Wait... Don't Tell me!" and "Welcome to Nightvale."
  17. Listening to it right now. I never watched wrestling and am finding it entertaining. I am at the forty minute mark. When someone invites people in NYC to an event thirty minutes before the show ended was probably talking to the people of the Marvel Universe. Traffic there is not a problem since everyone there gets around by skipping across rooftops.
  18. I thought I saw a Mothra reference in the first movie.
  19. Hanna's explanation of what Twilight is to Stephanie Meyer reminded me of this picture I saw on a page defining a Mary Sue.
  20. I would love to see Mike and Shana tackle Buckaroo Banzai! I am sure most hollywood studios would consider it un remake-able.
