  1. Yes. I dunno, trying to make a bad movie is so much less funny than making one through sheer incompetence. They'll pick the 'funniest' Wiseau takes, Wiseau picked the ones he thought were actually best.
  2. Beef accepted! You'll hear from us at Wrestlemania (which is our next recording). Ian "The Tyne River Powerhouse" Wilson and "The Heart Break Adult" Andy Wilson vs "The Excellence of Anime" Kellen Scrivens and "The Wrestling Podcaster" TG Hemmings
  3. Yeah, they might well go pretty far with this. The original Jessica Jones/Kilgrave story was pretty messed up.
  4. I'd join the chat but these PPV's need so much buffering through the network that we've often found ourselves 3-4 minutes behind on the action, not helpful in a Rumble. Nevertheless I wish you good Rumblings.
  5. Watching some Justice League (and introducing Chris to JLU, how such a huge Brave and the Bold fan never watched it I'll never know), and just reached Fury and Legends and it's a very curious couple of episodes to put side by side. It's weird to see the team roll their eyes at the attitudes towards women in Legends when they've just done a big story about a the opposite end of the spectrum, with a man-hating amazon trying to wipe them out. Which on reflection as a story is almost as much of a relic as Legends was to them at the time because it's so patronising- Oh look women can fight fires and fly planes, queue the inspirational music as they do this etc, all the stuff that you'd take for granted now. It's also just funny to see Hawkgirl go from 'men-don't knock it til you try it' to that other extreme where she's forced to bake cookies.
  6. Agreed. Although I still find it hard to like Doc, he's always so excited about swearing. I don't mind swearing but just because I can, doesn't mean I do. Actually between this doc, the two BBC docs and the fact that they're basically co-hosting TNA's impact tapings in Glasgow ICW are getting a hell of a lot of press for a UK indy. Well, not co-hosting but TNA putting on a Grado vs Al Snow match because they know the crowd will be hardcore ICW fans? Smart move.
  7. I'm not going to blame someone for being terrible in a Stephanie Meyer film!
  8. Would have preferred the other rumoured name Saoirse Ronan for Jean. Nothing against Sophie Turner, but she's merely ok in Game of Thrones whereas Ronan has been excellent in everything I've seen her.
  9. Just finished it, enjoyed it more in the spirit it was intended as it went on. It's more like the Sharpe series than anything, and I used to really enjoy that. Solid label of recommend.
  10. Argh, oh god no. Episode 4 spoilers
  11. The only thing I'm calling it up on would be that the Khan killed his own brother in single combat, which seems vital to the plot of the show but didn't come close to happening for real. I mean, if you want to take real events and overlay your own motives and emotional content fine, but the guy conquers China. You don't need to make stuff up to find events worth exploring. But it doesn't really matter. We'll see how it goes.
  12. But at the point of Red Dragon Hannibal had been caught. Is he going to be behind bars for that arc, or can they find another way to keep him actively involved?
  13. It's ok so far, doesn't quite have the Throne's gift for build and drama, but that's the nature of history. When it does try for that it fails a little because of the lack of credibility. I mean, the duel between Ariq and Kublai never happened, Ariq was pardoned and eventually brought back into the fold. The single combat notion was also very dramatic, a combination of not wanting the expense of battle in the production and preferring a high stakes mano a mano thing. Also not that sure about the Kung Fu. I tend to think of that sort of thing as the legend, not the history. Whilst I'm all for a fictionalised account of this period which I find fascinating anyway (ala HBO's Rome) I think building a skeleton on real events adds to the story more than anything. This feels halfway between Wu-Shu and real history and thus a weaker mix of the two approaches. I don't know, I like it well enough, probably going to follow it through to the end of the season. The production design is great and reports of bad acting have been greatly exaggerated.
  14. T2. Although I think Tropic Thunder is a great case study in reality-based character comedy that a lot of other films could learn from. The Interview especially.
  15. The problem is that Alfred is fine, but they need to stop finding ways to involve Bruce and him every week. They're walking that line between killer of the week and cohesive overarching world and it means you never know quite what sort of episode you're going to get. To me this show is about Gordon and Penguin, and everything else is ancillary and doesn't need to be much more than supporting cast. As soon as they strip the show down to those parts it'll work far better.
  16. Todd in the Shadows is the only one I still watch, he's almost single handedly keeping me up to date with current music. His end of year top tens are great, if a little later every year.
  17. I watched that G1 match last night, tremendous. Also highly recommend Shibata vs Ishii from the same tournament. Also been rewatching the entrances from last years Wrestle Kingdom, better than any Wrestlemania in my book.
  18. Ant-man needs more humour to work as a concept.
  19. That was a real one for me for a long time, especially when it comes to that classic class of young Man Utd players aka the best British class of footballers in the last 30 years. Those guys like Beckham and the Neville brothers broke in just as I got into football and they're all retired commentators or whatever Beckham is now. I saw those guys break through as top level talents.
  20. Featuring a favourite character who didn't make the theatrical release, Wesley Crusher.
