Am I the only one who thinks this should have been animated?

Yeah, they could have shut the whole thing down after the first weekend and still doubled the investment they made in actually making the movie, so everything after the first weekend is gravy. Plus they have the international market, DVD sales and whatever other marketing they do. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone take another shot at a Friday the 13th video game, either.

I'm not sure if this should be a new thread or not. I watched "His Name Was Jason" (a Friday the 13th documentary) this morning. This was a good retrospective on the Friday series. They didn't talk as much about Freddy vs. Jason as I would have liked, but some of the interviews were interesting. Having Felissa Rose comment was fun, but seemed out of place without an explanation of who she is (for those who haven't seen that series.) I was taken aback by the appearance of the Angry Video Game Nerd, and his review of the Friday the 13th NES game. It earned its spot on my Netflix queue for that reason alone. I'm sure he was thrilled to be a part of it.

Good point. After all, WCW ratings plummeted when they prominently featured Scott Hall & Kevin Nash after they left WWE for WCW. Um, wait... Whatever Vince thinks of Christian and whether it is justified or not that's a stupid reason to condemn him to limbo in ECW.

Maybe he has glaucoma and it is medical marijuana. That's probably why he defends it so aggressively.

It doesn't matter what the fans want. It has never mattered. Look at InVasion - the single biggest storyline of the past 30 years and Vince wouldn't book it properly because of his petty ego. He had to be completely dominant over WCW. He'll put out a decent product, but if something conflicts with his ego, no matter how much money it could make, it will be nixed. BTW, Vince's attitude toward Christian is exactly what feeds the steroid culture in the first place.

Jason may have been avenging Mrs. Voorhees, or he may have been protecting his weed. This screams for a parody. No pun intended.

Well, that pretty much guarantees there will be a sequel. A whole bunch more imitations too. Show me the money!

As remakes go, this was pretty good. I love the fact that they didn't go the "torture horror" route, It was interesting to see a non-Jason character (other than Tommy) make a comeback, Tommy was in 4-5-6 (although I hated the character in 6, mostly because I thought he should have been the killer) and the "final girl" from 1 made an appearance in 2, when Jason took her out. It never made sense to me why that didn't kill his motivation for revenge. I mean, Jason is honked off because his mom got killed, he tracks down the girl who killed her, and takes revenge. There, end of story. Anyway, even though this was a remake it was well done enough that it could actually fit as a true sequel, taking place sometime after Freddy Vs. Jason and before Jason X.

Shameful behavior by these idiots. I don't blame Jericho.

This comes out a week from tomorrow. Anyone planning to see it?

I loved "V" back in the day, so I am really looking forward to this.

A few years ago, there were legitimate personal problems between the two. Has that been resolved? I've been somewhat surprised to see them working together. Yes, but 2001 was a long time ago and both have matured as singles wrestlers. Remember that the "Hardyz" were still over as a tag team and neither guy had a consistent push as a singles wrestler yet. It could work, given the right build up and the right storyline. I don't think this is it, though. The logic is too flawed to work.

I don't think anyone said it wasn't bad, just that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. A hangnail isn't as bad as cutting your arm off, but that doesn't mean it's good. :laugh:

Saw 5 was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. (Granted, that's not exactly a compliment.) They managed to add to the history of the franchise without making the story unnecessarily convoluted, at least in comparison to the previous films. The new killer though, does not fit with the Jigsaw MO, especially with the cover-up killing at the end of the movie. That was even out of character for the new killer. Everything was, well, not terribly outrageous until that part. By the way, can we please have an actual sequel next time? Saw 2 was a true sequel in that it took place after Saw 1. But much of Saw 3, 4 and 5 take place at the same time as 1 and 2. It's just getting silly at this point. Advance the story or end the franchise.

I just got this via Netflix. This series really should have ended after 2. 1 was great. 2 was good. It really went downhill with 3 and 4 was just terrible. I'm curious to see just how bad 5 is.

Wow. That is really disturbing on many levels.

Yes, patience is necessary. One thing FF does well is leveling you up during the course of progressing through the quest. DQ requires much more wandering around and fighting random battles to level up.

I got this one last month, and I must say I am very impressed so far. Straight up, simple RPG, but lots of fun to play. Has anyone else played this one?

Thanks for the advice, all. I picked up an official PS2 memory card. That should be enough memory to last me quite a while.

Hitman: Blood Money and Splinter Cell: Double Agent are both 1MB saves, so 2 games take up a quarter of one card. Yeah, I could clear some stuff out but I don't want to lose my place if I decide to go back to a game I haven't played in a while.

I am looking to buy another memory card for the PS2. My first two cards have been official Sony cards, but I'm looking at Katana and Max Memory for more storage. Does anyone have experience with these two brands, and if so, what do you think?

It's OK. Not spectacular. The voices could be better in tune with the movement of the lips and Leon doesn't look anything like he does in RE4. I wish there had been at least one or two references to the Ganados and Las Plagas, but the game (which I think takes places after RE4) completely ignores RE4. The motivation, ultimatum and midnight deadline set by the peace activists is completely inconsistent with them being peace activists.
