  1. Just bought it today. Haven't watched it yet.
  2. I am playing through FF 9 again, and I've fallen in love with Final Fantasy all over again. I'm seriously considering getting X or X-2 (or both). So naturally, I'm curious what people here think of the games.
  3. When you reach the end, there are lots of awesome optional things to do that tie up loose ends in the storyline, and all of the endings are really cool.
  4. This is one series that should have ended after the first movie.
  5. Anyone else excited about this? While the Milla Jovovich films were an adaptation of the video games story, it looks like it directly continues the storyline from the video games.

    Batman R.I.P. - SPOILERS

I have not been following this story, but I picked up the final chapter today. This is the only chapter in the series I have read.
  7. Speaking of voice acting - while I am sure some would complain if they did this, but I have been saying for three years now to just take out the voices so there is room for many more storylines.
  8. Yeah. The pinnacle of the SDvR series, in my opinion, was SDvR 2006. The original was good, 06 was the best wrestling game since No Mercy, and 07 improved on some of the problems from 06 (lack of storylines and limited GM Mode) but the environmental grapples don't work well, the weapons (especially the steel chair) are not nearly as smooth and the load times were awful. Then 08 was just a disaster. My gripes: I don't like the "ultimate control moves" at all and having 2 of the 4 grapple spaces reserved for them is a waste. The series should let you have the option of using the old control scheme. You should not have to take a CAW through career mode to build up stats, much less every single one. The story mode is far too limited by only allowing a few wrestlers. I have always used CAW in story mode. Nonetheless, it is a major improvement over the last game, and is fun enough that I might buy it after my rental expires. The "road to wrestlemania" is actually not too bad, since it has storylines catered to each wrestler. In the past everyone had the same storyline, which put some wrestlers into situations that made no sense for the character. Case in point is having Kane in the "special story" arc, teaming up with Eugene to fight Edge & Christian. You could tell many of the guys were just phoning it in for the voice acting.
  9. OK, have played it a bit more and am finally getting used to the control scheme. The big test is going to be CAW, because I always put myself in the game. That will determine if this is a "rent only" or whether I buy it.
  10. I rented it. I still can't get used to that freaking analog control scheme. This game would be SO much better with the controls from SDvR 2006. How do you win the inferno match? I played as HHH, defending my belt against Jimmy Wang Yang. I beat the daylights out of him and busted him open, but could not figure out how to toss him into the fire. The match ended with a very bloody JWY as the new WWE Champion and HHH was on fire.

  12. You people are sick. I know LOL has been overused and beaten into the ground to the point it has not meant anything for the last 10 years, but literally, LOL. I can just see Vince Russo using that in a storyline in WCW back in the day, though.
  13. Yes, to be fair, I've never seen Mallrats. I just think it's an amazingly stupid idea for a spider-man story. I'm surprised Vince Russo didn't come up with it.
  14. Please tell me you're kidding. Please tell me that wasn't actually part of the story. If it is true, you have my permission to lie and say you made it up. What was that movie where the characters decided that Lois Lane would die if she and Superman had sex? I wonder if the writers had gotten stoned, watched that movie, and then wrote the story. Because stoned is the only explanation I can come up with for why someone would actually think that is a good idea.
  15. I remember being freaked out when that Licker jumped through the glass in Resident Evil 2. I also distinctly remember being startled when I was playing the first Turok for the N64 and got an extra life. All of a sudden I hear, much louder than any of the other sound effects, I AM TUROK! It's not as much of a shock after that. It was more the volume than anything.
  16. On the PS2 version of SDvR 2007, only super heavyweights (Kane, Big Show, Umaga, etc.) could pick up Khali. Even John Cena could not lift the "Ultra Heavyweight." It was stupid that they had Khali in a higher weight class than Big Show, who (at the time) was 60 pounds heavier. Also, Mabel/Viscera/Big Daddy V is 50 pounds heavier than Khali. I wish, just one time, that Jerry Lawler would squeal about "puppies" when Big Daddy V (Big Daddy Double-D?) is coming to the ring. Just one time. That would rule.
  17. My biggest problem with 2008 was the control scheme. I am not fond of using the analog sticks for the grapples. The control scheme in 2006 was the best of the series, followed by 2007, then 2005. And can we please go back to text-based storylines? I would much rather have tons of different storylines to play than have voices in the game.
  18. If Barack Obama wants gamers to take him seriously, he should repudiate efforts by his fellow Democrats (like Hillary Clinton) to have the federal government regulate the content of video games. But honestly, I don't trust John McCain on this issue either, since one of his closest advisers is Joe Lieberman - remember Lieberman's crusade against Mortal Kombat in the mid 1990's?

    Ultimate Origins #1

That would explain Terrance and Phillip's ability to fart on command. That's their mutant power. Will they find Saddam Hussein behind the curtain?

    Ultimate Origins #1

OK, I picked up the whole series so far on Wednesday and finished #4 this evening. Bruce Banner and are working on the Super-Soldier formula when Banner tries it on himself and becomes the Hulk. Banner was also working with . Banner becomes the Hulk, and apparently kills 's wife, who is holding their infant son - . Huh? This is not consistent. It was established in the
  21. Yeah, this is REALLY dragging. I expected so much better.
  22. There were some rumblings about this a couple years ago, with the idea being a much more "realistic" movie with the more cartoony gangs (Baseball Furies, Hi Hats) being removed in favor of Blood & Crips. Anyone know what the status of the "remake" is? The idea sounds horrible, by the way. Why not a sequel? It would be kind of interesting to see "elder statesmen" like Swan & Ajax dealing with a new generation of Warriors.
  23. My guess is the tormented retard will not be the killer.
  24. Chef! At some point in the movie, Isaac Hayes MUST say "Hello Children." IMDB says Felissa Rose will be in the movie...
