  1. Yeah I know I said before on I believe Facebook, but I loved the Gone Girl novel, especially as it reached its end. Those last few chapters were insane.
  2. Agreed on all points. Return of Barry Allen is one of the few Flash stories I've read from top to bottom, so the flashback had me marking out. The promo for the next several episodes honestly made me want to cry. I'm so happy to be a fan of DC Comics right now, in a way that the comics have denied me for the past few years. GOD I CANNOT WAIT!
  3. One thing I will say about Wells which is a bit of a slight on the writing is that he's gotta stop . It really seems like leaving breadcrumbs for people to start investigate when folks go missing. He could just threaten them like he did Joe. If he would just handle things a bit nicer, people would never get suspicious.
  4. I remember the Boko Haram segment he did with Jon being incredibly awkward because the audience was obviously horrified and couldn't bring themselves to laugh at anything because nothing was funny.
  5. I just now found this, apparently Arnold DID have several other quips on hand in cast the STEAM line was too subtle...
  6. SWEET. God knows the two have experience voicing the characters.
  7. I remember showing it to my brother a few New Years Eve's ago, and the final fight scene with Bennett had him completely transfixed. He had truly never witnessed anything like it before or since. We're two very different people, but Commando brings us together in a way no other film or holiday ever could.
  8. I hope this is a big comeback for Ryan Reynolds. I've always liked him, and he seems to be cursed in some really bad movies where he tries his damndest but can't get above water in having the bad scripts drag him down. If this is as personal as it appears to be for him, I really hope this is a smash hit.
  9. I don't want to see my favorite anime series fucked up...my heart probably couldn't take it.

  11. Not as one fire strong as last weeks, but honestly that's not saying too much against it. This was more "fun" and I'm really entertained by Grant Gustin as an actor. His miming after he left Cisco with Lisa was awesome. I thought to myself "Tom Welling would never have done that."
  12. Started watching The Irregular at the Magic High School last night. Not seen this much twincest since Ouran High School Host Club.
  13. Anyone who says the cover doesn't imply sexual violence has gone through life thinking that what happened to Barbara wasn't sexually violent in nature. I'm not saying Joker did things to her off panel, but the simple act of shooting her then stripping her naked and taking pictures is so clearly a sex crime that it's really galled me that it's been kept in canon for so long. I still just about like the Killing Joke, but what happened to Barbara was insane. Still love her as Oracle more'n Batgirl, but goddamn, that kind of storytelling is one DC has got to run away from. And quite frankly you'll never see Superman or Batman being held by their enemies like that effing crying. Is this Batgirl's title or the Joker's?
  14. GODDAMN YOU JESSE L./ALL THE OTHER ACTORS/WRITERS/THE SHOW THE FLASH!!! HOW CAN YOU KEEP BEING SO AWESOME!!!

  16. Last week I was a guest on The Battle Beyond Planet X, a podcast that looks at video games, sci-fi movies and other types of genre fictions. We talked about my favorite, Cassandra Cain, which lead into a larger discussion on race and gender in DC Comics. I know a rambled a bit near the end, but I enjoyed the discussion a lot, and hopefully you will too should you give it a listen! http://battlebeyondpodcast.com/2015/03/16/1417/
  17. He flaunts that hat like a Doctor Who accessory, I've never seen him in an interview without it.

  19. Yeah I was pissed when that promo for the next few episodes came out and that it wasn't for the current week. I had a dream where the 1990 Flash and the current Flash had a crossover...in a cinematic movie.
  20. Horns: It may've been Hannah earlier in the thread who said "Well, that sure was a movie." This was pretty bad. Radcliffe's acting is perfectly solid once you get past his shifty American accent (he and co-star Juno Temple are only a few days apart in age), but the script it downright embarrassing. It comes off like bad fanfiction from a high schooler, and REALLY sinks lower in the third act. I'm glad I saw it, but it truly is a lousy movie. Fargo: T'was on Netflix and my Mom who loves it commanded that we sit down and watch it. I'm not a big Cohen Brothers fan, having only seen No Country for Old Men and overall not caring for it, but I wasn't aware that this was their film going in. I liked it okay, mostly for Francis McDormand's entire character and performance. Steve Buscemi plays Steve Buscemi, although I suppose this was one of his break-out roles. I really don't like movies which indulge in how slow they can make a scene. It's why I wasn't crazy about No Country, and this one's the same. It feels obnoxious at times. Still, I enjoyed the movie well enough.
