Koete
Yeah, they look like trailers for a Fantastic Four movie.
Dread
The X-men movies are cash cows, and they're better than Disney's overall. I hope the FF movie is good. I could give a shit if Marvel ever gets the rights back. I just want good movies.
Delete
Plus keeping the mutants away from the rest of the Marvel stuff really does keep questions of how the mutants are treated as compared to everyone else from being asked. Though since seeing Ultron I have been wondering if Quicksilver's fate was a spiteful move since X-Men used him first in a movie.
Dan
According to Latino Review, Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Ender's Game) has been cast as Peter Parker.

Koete
Well...I liked Hugo? Now that we're on Spider-Man #3, I find it hard to care either way.
Donomark
I was rooting for the other guy. I want my Peter Parkers to actually resemble Peter Parker. Hope he does well with the role nevertheless.
Delete
When the rumored list was him and then a half dozen guys I had never heard of I just sort of assumed it was his part.
JackFetch
He's the young star everyone wants right now. I'd have been shocked if it wasn't him. To me he looks like a cross between Elijah Wood and Tobey Maguire so he'll be fine as Peter Parker.
JackFetch
Demarest, which backed “A Most Wanted Man” and Kevin Smith’s “Tusk,” is developing a TV adaptation of George A. Romero’s “Empire of the Dead,” a 15-issue graphic novel published by Marvel Comics. The series will be written by Romero and longtime partner Peter Grunwald, and executive produced by Romero and Grunwald with Demarest’s Sam Englebardt and William D. Johnson .http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/george-a-romero-empire-of-the-dead-tv-series-1201502364/ I'm so ready for the zombie craze to be over. JackFetch
Asa Butterfield is out of the running for Spider-Man and Marvel and Sony are butting heads over who is going to star in it. Source
Davedevil
They should get the kid who was young Andrew Garfield in Never Let Me Go.
JackFetch
Anyone hoping for Miles Morales to be the movie version just got their dreams crushed by the leaked licensing agreement. The one that gets me is that he has to get his powers in either middle school or college. He got them in high school in the other movies right?
Koete
Yeah, the middle school thing is bizarre, among many bizarre things in that agreement.
dc20willsave
So, all we need is to convince Marvel to let Peter Parker sleep with, I dunno, Hercules, and we can have a gay Spider-Man on screen? Awesome!
KnightWing
That's super weird. I mean, it's good that they're laying down detailed guidelines for the character, but those just seem badly-written at best.
Donomark
Ava Duvernay is reportedly confirmed to direct Black Panther.
Dread
Ava Duvernay is reportedly confirmed to direct Black Panther. As I've said elsewhere: yay, another distinctive director with a wonderful creative voice to be pushed through Marvel's generic Play-Doh Fun Factory.
Donomark
I think in this case it's WAY more important to the character to get not only a black director, but a director who's body of work is more socially aware, lending chances of there being any unfortunate implications through conventions in typical superhero cliches to be avoided. Black Panther should be THE most glorious superhero movie with a black lead since the first Blade, and this is a step in that direction. I mean, who else were they gonna give a Marvel movie to, Tim Story? *laughs* I don't think so...

Dread
It's a hypothetical. You don't think DuVernay has a glut of stuff on her plate?
Koete
She's doing her own TV show, so sure.
