Dan
That sounded like Julian Bleach's Davros to me.
Stavros
That sounded like Julian Bleach's Davros to me. I think so too, it's the sticky consonants that sets it apart as Davros. However the shift into more electronic sound at the end made me think it might be some variation of the supreme brain in a jar Dalek. It's fair enough, we haven't seen Davros in 6 years, that's plenty of normal Dalek stories in the meantime. They're no longer just a device in his stories as they became in the classic show. dc20willsave
The first five scripts of Series 8 have ended up online. Can I make an appeal that, even if you feel the need to search them out, that we avoid posting spoilers from them here until after the episodes have aired? Stavros
Well, looks like they finally made that Doctor/Master slashfic stuff canon. edit- Sorry Dan, didn't see that you didn't want spoilers.
dc20willsave
I don't know whether to be frightened that you might not be kidding or honored that you mistook me for Dan.
Dan
... This is problematic. I really want to find these. I also really don't.
dc20willsave
I am the kinda guy who couldn't care less about getting spoiled and if it was the episodes themselves, I might seek them out. As is, I will agree with Rich in that I want to hear the words come from Capaldi himself. A performance is more than what is written on a page. More than a bit of it will always be what the actor them self puts in there. I want my first full exposure to this guy to be unique and new, not words I have already read elsewhere. JasonC
I'm going to ignore any and all links to these I can. Davedevil
One of the bigger bookstores in my country just started selling Doctor Who books and I am really happy. Picked up the 50th anniversary compilation of short stories, which is pretty massive. I can probably kill vagrants with this.
Dan
A rough cut of Deep Breath, the first episode of Series 8, has been leaked. It's missing effects shots and the title sequence but is otherwise mostly complete. If you watch this, fine. If you spoil it, I will fucking end you. dc20willsave
Not only that but they're rough workprints meaning it's all black and white with watermarks. So, probably nothing resembling an enjoyable experience anyway. Caveat ereptor.
JasonC
I can and will wait for the actual episode.
Stavros
I'll watch because I'm fascinated by television production. Black and white with no effects? It's taking the show back to it's roots. Edit- Hmm. interesting stuff. Definitely some bits that won't make air, and it's going need more cutting to add some zip and continuity shot to shot. Love the Cybersquirrels, really terrifying. Pan-dub
THAT LOOKS AWESOME HOLY SHIT THERE WAS A DINOSAUR VISITING THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT AND HORSE RIDING IN BEDCLOTHES
You Know Who
Looks pretty good. However, I'm planning to hold it off till it's finished in case it isn't. Watching Series 7 week-to-week was a miserable experience.

You Know Who
I wonder what piece of pop entertainment will be the first to depict feathered dinosaurs Primeval did, but I'm not sure how popular that was in the UK.
JasonC
Primeval did OK for a few seasons before it got silly and died.
dc20willsave
That's the thing. Everyone wants to portray Dinosaurs as giant scary things and they feel that feathers would get in the way of that. Anthropological accuracy be damned! KnightWing
Ironically, I'm pretty sure people would complain if they saw a feathered T-rex.
