Yeah, TNA's entire strategy right now appears to be asking the fans "Do you like WWE? Why not try our TNA brand WWE, its cheaper and about 10 years past its sell by date". What kind of wrestling war starts by pissing off their own hardcore fans who were the only ones who thought a war was actually in the offing?

One that TNA is involved in. They seem to think that by making fun of WWE (Taz said vintage earlier) people will not think they are small time and crap, which is the opposite of what's happening. Which is a shame, as I want TNA to succeed. Because it would be better for everyone.

I'm watching till Kennedy debuts, then I'm switching off.

TNA calls Hall/Nash/Waltman the band.

I wish I was joking.

Also, Beer Money VS the Band(Nash and Waltman) you know, I've always had a problem with the bronco buster, just what the hell did it achieve besides being the gayest move in wrestling?

Scot Hall just attacked a fan for some reason. Seems to be a work, making no sense.

Also, Eric Escobar has been fired by WWE.

Couldn't they have called him Andy Kennedy? I know his real name is Ken Anderson but Kennedy rolls off the tongue better.

WWE would say they own "Mr Kennedy" when using him. Unless he trademarked it, or made it his real name, WWE wouldn't let it happen.

Also, Anderson does sound better.

Wasn't the lead up to his debut on iMPACT and previous PPV's so awesome and how he is a big draw for TNA? I mean, it's not like he was washed up in WWE just before he was sacked.

Fans chanted overrated to Kennedy, or started to chant it, I agree.

Anderson smacked Abyss with brass knucks, and won. All in all, a horrible debut.

The TNA fans are holding the company back almost as much as the people running it. The company is moving beyond them and they can't stand it. They are a bunch of elitists that just want their little indie guys to themselves. They are shunning people just because they were in WWE.

With that being said, TNA are going about all the changes the wrong way. Hogan, Bischoff, and their crew crew of washed up friends will kill TNA. You can't move forward by going back a decade. The WWE appeals to kids now for a reason. Cena is shoved down our throat for a reason. DX shills their merchandise every week for a reason. That's where the money is now. I have 30 kids in my after school program, and half of them wear WWE shirts, or have WWE backpacks. TNA has no marketable wrestlers. The people that buy merch don't care about wrestling ability. They want a hero. What kid wants to look up to a fat Samoan, or a guy they've never heard of, or is 5 times their age with grey hair?

So what you're suggesting is the only way for TNA to compete with WWE and brand themselves as the alternative wrestling fans have been waiting for is to do exactly what WWE is doing.

The TNA fans like TNA because it's different. A huge sector of wrestling fans left after the close of WCW and never came back. You can not attract those same people by emulating WWE. They've been trying to do that for 6 years and have failed at it. WWE fans already have something to watch, it's called WWE. Those kids aren't lighting the business on fire. The vast majority of WWE viewers are still adults and marketing to children is getting them 3.5 ratings. When they marketed to adults, they used to pull double that.

I think Jack's point is that merchandise probably makes them more money than whether they make a 3.0 or 3.5 in the ratings.

If TNA can be profitable with a 1.0 - 1.5 then I agree with you Dubs, they should be different and make themselves about long running, coherent story lines and good solid wrestling matches. Who knows, if they do that, then it might result in higher ratings anyway, but getting to a 3.5 shouldn't be their goal from the start, otherwise they'll just do dumb retarded stuff for the sake of shock value.

The point is Jack is suggesting that guys like Joe or AJ are useless because they don't fit the WWE archetype, as if that's the only type of wrestler that can draw money for a company. Abdullah the Butcher, Dick Murdoch, Dusty Rhodes, all fat globs and all drew more than John Cena.

And merchandise sells when the product sells. Their main concern should be getting people to buy their PPVs, which they're not. Bad booking doesn't suddenly work, whether the champion is 5'7" or 6'7".

TNA has a champion nobody knows, old people nobody cares about, and are no more popular than they were 8 years ago when it started. The 6 sided ring. The X Division. All the stuff they did to stand out hasn't worked. Only the hardcore wrestling fans even know they exist. This latest thing with Hogan is a last ditch effort, but isn't going to work because wrestling isn't like it was 10 years ago. It's not as popular, and neither is Hogan. TNA has to be running low on money by now, and hiring all of WWE's rejects and drug addicts isn't going to help.

My main issue with the iMPACT zone fans is this.

Live impact, AJ VS Angle. Match starts, referee gets taken down, Tomko comes in, attacks AJ, and Tomko gets thrown out two minutes later. Five minutes after this, fans chant "This is wrestling" so they will cheer whatever shit TNA throws down their throats. I hate the impact zone fans, and am sick of everything being filmed in that small time building, with shite cameras and announcers.

Also, would they please stop slagging WWE, yet still trying to be them, it is getting old.

Yeah because the X-division was given a legit shot. Come on, the writers decided to kill that bit the second they got on Spike. That's the moment that they started dicking those guys around and making them look like jobbers. I'm not going to pin TNA's lack of progress on gimmicks like the 6 sided ring or a division. Its all about the writing and how these things are portrayed, and that's been in the ditch since Tomko pinned Samoa Joe.

As far as I understand it TNA is owned by the Panda group, which reportedly has a worth greatly in excess of WWE. As long as they see TNA as worthwhile they have money. On top of that Spike is footing the bill for the bigger stars, something they started doing with Kurt Angle but have increased to include Mick Foley and Hulk Hogan.

Thanks to Phill for sending this in: From now on, TNA will not be showing ppvs on UK TV. Before, we used to get the ppv's for free on Bravo 2 on the Wednesday after the live broadcast, but they have now stopped this. TNA set up a website where you can watch it online for £10.50. Unfortunately, if you go to the website - www.tnappv.com - there is nothing there! So, TNA has made PPVs available on BTVision. However, there are two problems with this. Very few people in the UK have BTVision (it has less than 500,000 subscribers) and it isn't shown live, it's shown 11 hours after it has finished. If you're going to watch a ppv live on the internet, most people wont pay for it as it's easy to find a stream - also, if they are showing it 11 hours after it has finished then most people will just download it for free and watch it on their tv!

Source.

After Genesis, which I would say people will ask for their money back, this is just fucking hilarious to me. Fuck TNA.

Let's count the failures.

Before the tapings started, the Impact Zone crowd was addressed by members of the TNA staff. They talked to the crowd about not cursing, making obscene gestures, or gang signs. They called the crowd 'cast members' and basically told the crowd that they needed to be quiet.

Hernandez and Matt Morgan defeated The British Invasion to retain the TNA Tag Titles. During the match, Rob Terry came out and had his X Division Title shot briefcase. Brutus tried to use the briefcase on Hernandez during the match, but he missed and hit Doug Williams instead. Hernandez pinned Williams.

After the match, Mick Foley came out and he hit Rob Terry with a chair. After Hernandez and Morgan left the ring, Foley said something to the camera that could not be heard by the crowd.

After pyro goes off, Ric Flair comes to the ring with two women. Flair says that he hates Hulk Hogan, but he loves TNA. Flair says that he is here to find the next 'Nature Boy'. Flair then brings out the 'next heavyweight champion' A.J. Styles. Styles comes to the ring in a suit and he is accompanied by a woman. Styles puts over the beautiful women in the ring and then the crowd chants 'You are married'. This causes Styles to laugh and there was an awkward pause. A.J. cuts a promo that utilized a style similar to his new mentor.

Kurt Angle comes to the ring with Hulk Hogan. Hogan says that he has changed his mind about Genesis being Angle's last title shot because he runs the show. Hogan announces that Kurt Angle versus A.J. Styles will happen tonight. Hogan says that it is 'damn real'.

Orlando Jordan defeats D'Angelo Dinero with a Flatliner.

It was announced that Ken Anderson will face Jeff Jarrett tonight. (this didn't happen)

Angelina Love defeated Madison Rayne after a bicycle kick. After the match, Love ripped Madison's shirt off and choked her with it. Velvet and Lacey come to the ring and they attack Love with the 'ugly stick'.

Hogan and Bischoff come out. They are tired of The Band running around and they want to see them wrestle. The Band come out and Waltman is smoking. Hogan says that since they don't have contracts, they don't have contracts, they don't work for TNA. Hogan has security escort them out of the building.

Nasty Boys defeated Kevin Nash and Eric Young when Saggs pinned Young after a pumphandle drop.

Mr. Anderson comes to the ring to cut a promo. He talks about his victory over Abyss at Genesis. Abyss is standing behind him and he attacks Anderson until Anderson is able to get out of the ring.

A.J. Styles defeated Kurt Angle with an ankle lock. This match was described as an 'Orlando Screw Job'. Earl Hebner was the referee for this match and he had them ring the bell. Styles, Flair, and Hebner left the ringside area. After the match, Hulk Hogan came out and Angle spat in his face. Angle went to the announce table and took Mike Tenay's chair and throw it into the stage.

Eric Bischoff comes out with blood on his forehead and states that Mick Foley is fired and then he leaves.

Good to know that going back to the four-sided ring has solved all of their problems.
