Molly
Two unknowns, which is cool. Holland looks the part, at least.

Donomark
I know nothing of either, but I'm so glad Asa Butterfield wasn't chosen. After Tobey Maguire I have a thing about Spider-Man being casted completed against type.
Dread
Shocker: Ava Duvernay passes on BP. Pretty easy to read that as "Marvel wants me to make a movie that looks and feels like every other movie they make and I think that's insane. Good luck to them." KnightWing
I have no idea how Black Panther is supposed to fit into the MCU, just in terms of look and feel. But then we have Guardians of the Galaxy and Daredevil, so maybe that's not really a concern.
Dan
The Marvel Experience tour is closing its doors. That sounded like a lot of fun, but the early dates were plagued with disastrous reviews.
dc20willsave
Marisa Tomei is playing Aunt May.

Delete
Age wise it is not a problem. I think the issue people will have is that she has aged better than any human being has ever aged so she looks no where near her age.
Koete
I'm just amused that there wasn't an Aunt May clause in the licensing agreement.
Missy
A (hopefully) sassy Aunt May? Yes. Please.
slothian
Age wise it is not a problem. I think the issue people will have is that she has aged better than any human being has ever aged so she looks no where near her age. That may well be, but she's still only just hit her 50s. Heck, I wasn't really on board with Sally Field's casting even though she was 65 when she first played the part.Still, I'm past caring about Spider-Man reboots at this point. Delete
Yeah I am interested in Spider-Man insofar as his interactions with the other Marvel characters. The solo movie, especially the high school emphasis, doesn't interest me in the least.
Missy
While Aunt May has always been older in the comics, this need not be the case in the movies. A teenager being raised by an elderly aunt is less likely these days; it's much more believable for Aunt May to be 50 (or younger, frankly) than an old worrywart with a plate full of wheatcakes. When I has 15, my mom's sister was 33. My dad's sisters, for the most part, were between 30 and 40. (I think only one would have been 50, and another would have been in her late 20s.) Fact of the matter is, this is the world we live in, and the media needs to represent that if they're going to remain relevant.
KnightWing
Even with realism aside, Aunt May is kind of a useless and boring character if she's so old she can't tie her shoes without Peter. Making her younger and/or more able is different from the norm, but it's interesting. And it's not too different from what Ultimate Spider-Man did. slothian
Not enough comics/adaptations have villains outright swearing at the heroes. I'm told.
