  1. Exactly. Where you see "intelligent and competently made," I see ludicrous, emotionless and completely disrespectful of the source material. To each their own.
  2. See, that's what I mean. It sounded like a completely different character. The "Mom and Dad" line actually made me laugh out loud when I read it.
  3. It amazes me that anyone can stand up for Ang Lee's epic dump of a movie, but as was said we're getting away from the point. I'd love to have Norton back, as I thought he did a great job. But I love his response - shows that he really is a classy guy who just takes acting really, really seriously.
  4. See, none of that inner monologue sounds like Bruce Wayne to me. Not a single word. As someone who admittedly hates Morrison, though, I should ask: Am I the only one?

    The Wolverine thread

I just honestly don't care. I'll flip through Wolverine books, but Marvel has just killed everything good they've ever had going with him. Much like Deadpool, actually.
  6. Shit, I'm sorry, I got mixed up. I was reading two different sets of reviews on two different sites at once, and I got all mixed up. So..... NEVERMIND!!!!
  7. Great review of Green Arrow, Preston. It truly was shit of epic proportions. Oh, and I totally missed what the "Easter egg" was in the Wonder Woman book, Hannah. Help?
  8. True but this is also the one that next to nothing can be cut out of. You can cut out fair amount of the camping stuff in the middle but then you still have everything that goes into destroying the first few Horocruxes in addition to setting up the bad new world and that all leads into the entirety of the Battle of Hogwarts. I wouldn't be surprised if the first movie is just the buildup to Hogwarts. I don't see how it can be much else, really. Nothing at Hogwarts can really be cut. And I think the camping stuff is more important than people realize. As well as moving along the Horcruxes storyline, there's character growth and development there. Hell, maybe it's just more important to bigtime fans, though.
  9. Agreed. Yeah, but that would mean actually THINKING about the next arc, which would've required a writer with more common sense. So... yeah. Read Green Arrow #1 this weekend. Shouldn't have.
  10. That was a good fan's recap, Knightwing. That pretty much settles it for me that I'm waiting for the DVD. It's a shame though, because my little girl wants to see it SO badly. I kinda thought my cautious optimism was doomed, however. EDIT: I actually quite like Ebert's review. I think it's the first one I've read where the reviewer seems to have done any research into the source material (not a surprise with Ebert, though). I'm glad he gave more than casual lip service to the casting decisions. And I'm very glad he brought up the moronic 3D conversion and pointed out how dark and drab the film looks - even in the trailers, which are supposed to sell the damn thing.
  11. Agreed. I'm not even hating on the costume - it's decenet enough, as long as it's just temporary - but Wonder Woman is a warrior. That's who she is. I don't want to see her "flirt" either. That's not who the character is at all. A passionate, serious warrior does not flirt, nor would you want them to, were they standing up for you. Somebody needs to give JMS his own characters again, and he can fuck them up however he wants. Just stay away from characters we care about.
  12. Yeah, that trailer looks fantastic. Just utterly great. Dammit. Every time I see a new Potter trailer, I have to go back and read all the books again. Well, I know what I'm reading for the next month plus.
  13. Agreed, Iroh is the backbone of the whole story. And for my money there is no better story told in the whole series than his. Remember the "Tales of Bah Sing Say" episode? His piece - dedicated to Mako - was the best thing ever done on a show that was already incredible.
  14. Lesbians are some of the coolest people ever.
  15. Holy fuck that looks so awesome. "You're gonna have to use the L word." "Lesbian?" "The other L word." "Lesbians?"
  16. I like those a lot. Although Jason Shwartzman really isn't what I pictured Ex #7 to look like. Plus, can we stop putting Scwartzman out there as the quirky tough guy/mastermind in these movies? "Rushmore" was a long, long time ago, Hollywood.
  17. I totally agree. Here's a newsflash for Microsoft: If I had wanted a motion sensitive video gaming system, I'd have bought a Wii. I didn't, so don't throw gimmicks at me.
  18. Associated Press came out with this story over the weekend. It's written in the typical condescending way that idiots talk about comics, but it's an interesting subject.
  19. I kinda like it. The armored part looks fantastic, actually. But, yes, the photoshopping is truly horrendous.
  20. Dude, really? Did you completely miss this: That makes NOTHING better.
  21. Reading that nearly makes me ill.
  22. It's hard to argue with that. Good points. It's hard for me to think of a list because I don't know where to place guys like Palmer and Irons. Those guys are geniuses in their respective fields and incredible inventors, but where do they rank overall?
