Missy
I just realized something about the Teen Titans cartoon: the producers had no problem demonstrating a relationship between a human and an alien, a cyborg and a cavewoman, a metamorph who prefers animal forms and a human, and a half-demon and a dragon. However, when it comes to the love shared between a gorilla and a brain in a Dalek shell, oh no! That's going too far because they're both male. dc20willsave
To be fair, the romance never really surfaced until late in Grant Morrison's run, long after the original Doom Patrol is dead but before they got brought back.
Missy
True, but those comics were published more than a decade prior to the Teen Titans cartoon. So the roots for such a relationship were there.
KnightWing
The Malla/Brain romance, though, isn't something that in any way makes the characters better, at least not in their original forms where they're just a gorilla and a Dalek. The romance thing didn't even start until Brain had an entire humanoid body, I think.

JackFetch
Communitys "Remedial Chaos Theory" got nominated for a Hugo! *dance party* I thought this week's episode was brilliant, but the show is at it's lowest ratings ever. Venneh
Really? It's still NBC's best showing/most viewed on Thursday nights.
Koete
At 3 million viewers and without The Office, yes.
Stavros
Any chance that xXx was Nick Fury's aborted first attempt at an Avengers Initiative?
JackFetch
That Chevy Chase voicemail where he bitches about how bad Community is has leaked online. People said it was over the creator making the cast cuss in front of his kids, but it's not. It's about him not getting portrayed the way he wants on the show. He's a typical actor. Dan
I don't really get everyone's surprise about this. Chevy Chase has been, ever since his days at SNL, renowned for being a world-class dickhead. Everyone who's ever worked with him in any capacity goes out of their way to expound on what an asshole the man is. Community isn't up to your usual standard, Chevy? Gee, sorry. I'd hate to sully the memory of Cops and Robbersons, buddy. Harmon shouldn't have played that voicemail in public, and he's admitted as such, but no one can actually be shocked by it. dc20willsave
Chevy is actually on the ban list for hosting SNL.They do Cameos with him but yeah, the guy is an asshole. Most people that got the ban hammer did because they did something on show that was in bad taste or were constantly mugging for the camera (Sinead O'Conner, Rage Against the Machine, Martin Lawrence, Adrien Brody). Checy is one of the only one to get it for being a dick.
Dan
The thing is, Pierce Hawthorne is a funny character, but (in my opinion, anyway) is really the only one of the main seven who would not cripple the show by leaving. He rarely adds anything vital.
Stavros
I always notice how they basically just take Pierce and stick him off to the side for half the episodes, he's rarely a player. Not that he's not good or significant in some of the best episodes, but the should would survive him leaving. The Dean is a bigger character right now. Molly
I've always wanted to see Billy West's face as he did Zoidberg. It's exactly what I thought.

SuaveStar
I fucking love Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me might be my favorite David Lynch film. I finished Twin Peaks a few days ago, and then Fire Walk With Me, the next day. Yeah, I need an adult, and just to....stay the fuck away from Twin Peaks for a, yeah, good long time. Molly
It's official: The Simpsons live in Oregon. Are they committed to ruin everything about that show?
dc20willsave
Preston, keep in mind that Groening is barely involved anymore and that, and this is something the article that Dan quoted sucked at quoting. When I get home i will post a link but the general gist is the one in Oregon is the inspiration, not the real setting. As for Twin Peaks, yeah, I love Fire Walk With Me. What did you think of the ending?
Molly
I was gonna say, because Springfield's location has been one of the few running gags that hadn't been screwed with. I mean, I hate seeing what was a huge part of my childhood as a soulless cash cow.

Even the family Wilson at one point had a Simpsons chess set...
JackFetch
From what I saw somewhere else, it doesn't actually take place in Oregon on the show. He just revealed that he based it on Springfield Oregon.
