Guest
So Hannah and I confirmed for Sabrina. Chris, you want to do Metropolis or M with me? Dan, I'll cover anything you pick with you. I think Des and I should do Nosferatu.
Dan
Dan, I'll cover anything you pick with you. I know the Beatles aren't really your thing, but I would do Hard Day's Night. It's musical, it's pop-culture-y, and it's different.
Koete
Chris, you want to do Metropolis or M with me? Absolutely. The hard part is deciding between the two. James, I'm down with covering Shadow of a Doubt if that's cool.
James D.
Ok, Chris. Does anyone want to tackle Kane with me?
Molly
I'm not gonna commit to a collaboration, just due to baby related scheduling, but I'm sure I can find forty five minutes to ramble about John Wayne.
Stavros
lil bit of Stagecoach?
Venneh
I'd be game to do Citizen Kane, or if anyone (Chris maybe?) would want to do 8 1/2, too.
Koete
I can do 8 1/2, I just got the Blu-ray. Probably the most random one thrown out here: anybody want to discuss Francis Ford Coppola's Rumble Fish?
slothian
If you're interested, Ian, I can join you on Casablanca. By all means!
You Know Who
If you're interested, Ian, I can join you on Casablanca. By all means! Awesome! Around when would this weeklong event be?
Guest
Next month at the earliest to give time to do all of these recordings.
You Know Who
How's everyone doing recording-wise?
dc20willsave
Recording with Dan tonight, got my other recordings done. Doing tons of editing on Saturday.
Kscriv
Will be editing Clerks this weekend.
Rjoyadet
I can do 8 1/2, I just got the Blu-ray. Once, in an Italian restaurant, I asked my sister in law (a film student) what was her favorite Fellini movie. She told me she had no idea who Fellini was. I was astonished. A couple of weeks later I e-mailed her the Fountain scene from "La Dolce Vita" and she had to admit that this guys movies looked good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKN1T3K1idg
You Know Who
Well done, old chums! I know it would have to be a while from now and that a few movies that fall into this category were covered last week, but how many of you would be up for a foreign, non-Anglophone film week on Earth-2.net: The Show? TheMFP1
Marvel Animated week. Covering everything from Spider-Man and HIs Amasing Friends Through X-men The Animated Series, and Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes.
dc20willsave
I'm going to point out right now why that's unlikely. It'll take too much time. It requires going through and rewatching each series. Most of us who work on the various segments have other podcasts and projects we're working on in addition to lives. Taking the time to watch a movie from a critical point of view is cool. Having to rewatch a between 20-100 episode series, even at 20 minutes a piece, is a bit much. Hell, it's the main reason why there's still going to be a few more months before Kellen and I get back to Power Rangers. It's going to be that long for us to rewatch the separate series. Dan
I'm going to point out right now why that's unlikely. It'll take too much time. I have been toying with a project concerning Marvel animation, and when recently organizing everything, I counted almost a thousand episodes of television broadcast from 1966-2013. You Know Who
One devoted just to Spider-toons could be done.
Missy
One devoted just to Spider-toons could be done.A look at a few episodes from each Spider-Man cartoon, as an evolution of the character as seen through his TV shows, could work quite well. A secondary topic could then be made of analyzing how TV has changed: animation, storytelling, voice work, etc. as seen through one character.I'll have to think on that. dc20willsave
There have been 8 Spider-man Animated series (Spider-Man '67, Spider-Man '81, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Spider-Man '94, Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Man: The New Animated Adventures, The Spectacular Spider-Man, and Ultimate Spider-Man.) I love the 67 series, especially in the second and third season when it turns into batshit insanity and more reused animation than you can shake a stick at. You Know Who
If you excluded the still-airing Ultimate Spider-Man, each could get an episode in a weeklong event. Dibs on Spectacular.
Stavros
Are we doing much special for the 50th anniversary? Besides the special revisiting of the lost episodes by BOTI.
dc20willsave
How about a decade week, wether that's 50s Week or 90s week? During the week, we would cover movies/shows/concepts that are mainly associated with that decade.
