JasonC
Any movie that features the Pina Colada song automatically has my approval.

Venneh
To the soundtrack listing, Des?
Dread
Yeah. Dumb cash-in as far as I'm concerned.
JasonC
But.. but.. The Pina Colada Song! Oh and 10cc. And Marvin Gaye. But definitely The Pina Colada Song!
Venneh
Eh, I like it well enough. Then again, I'm young enough to not know most of it.
KnightWing
Yeah. Dumb cash-in as far as I'm concerned. So what you're saying is that it's a normal, non-score soundtrack?
Dread
No. It has no new tracks. No B-sides. This is a typical "Chilling on your back porch in the summer Jams" album they sell on TV at night.
JasonC
It's probably a mixtape he recorded himself and had in his Walkman when he was abducted off earth as a kid.
Stavros
Well that's the gimmick exactly. You can't expect Tarantinoesque taste because this is a kids mix tape. Which doesn't sell it as a product in and of itself but makes sense as the soundtrack for the film.
Koete
Hey now, there might be a scene with Drax and "Stuck in the Middle with You."

JasonC
This. So very much. I am finding it extraordinarily easy to sidestep my natural pessimism in regards to this movie. It feels weird. <hums to self> I like pina coladas.. and gettin' caught in the rain..
JackFetch
The last movie I saw in a theater was Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I will be paying money to see this. I'm that hyped. It's Andy Dwyer in space. How can anyone not get hyped for that?
Stavros
How is the last movie you saw in cinemas Return of the King?!
JackFetch
I hate going to the movies because people ruin the experience by being assholes.
James D.
I hate going to the movies because people ruin the experience by being assholes. Pretty much this. I rarely go to the movie theatre.
Dan
I rarely see more than one or two movies in the theater a year (except for indie/arthouse theaters, where the audience generally knows how to behave). This will be one of them.

JasonC
I hate going to the movies because people ruin the experience by being assholes. Pretty much this. I rarely go to the movie theatre. And that is why I go see movies during the day, usually at the first performance of the day. Most of the time, there's only one or two other people in there with me. I hatehateHATEhatehate crowded cinemas.
JackFetch
I sat through The Return of the King with a guy explaining everyone's back stories and everything happening to his mom behind me. It completely ruined it for me.
Dan
Potentially huge spoiler regarding a possible cameo in today's CBR Don't click if you don't want to know/speculate: However, the biggest surprise may be the acknowledgement of Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik, creators of Howard the Duck, which would seem to suggest the character makes an appearance in the film. Stitch Kingdom notes that it might be a nod to a movie or comic that Peter Quill was familiar with before he was abducted from Earth. Of course, Howard could simply be an Easter egg tucked into a crowd scene in Knowhere’s marketplace or bar.
JackFetch
The Geekshow Podcast says this movie has more characters from the Marvel universe in it than every other Marvel movie combined.
