S-T
Spoiler, in case anyone cares: Spoiler Goldberg pinned Bray Wyatt clean to win the Universal Championship. All of these months used to build the Fiend's character into an unstoppable no-selling monster, to the point he would be believable as a challenger for Brock Lesnar, was tossed aside in order to put the belt on an over-the-hill man who will never be a full-time wrestler again. Look, the dude is in amazing shape for his age. But face facts: Goldberg is 53 years old. He was past his prime in 2003. I guess there will be less of a backlash from Roman Reigns beating Goldberg than beating the Fiend, but still. Bad move.
slothian
My issue, as was true when Lesnar squashed Kofi to regain the WWE Championship, is that it makes Rollins/Bryan look weak (I don't give a fuck about the Miz) and this has been done so Roman can win the title to reduced boos as opposed to him beating the Fiend (which I had anticipated). I don't care about the leukiemia - fuck Roman Reigns. HOW do you base a business model around pushing a guy no-one wants to cheer as opposed to being reactive to your audience's demands? James D.
Because WWE is one of the most tone-deaf companies in the world. It is a trickle-down effect from the scum at the top.

S-T
Watching clips of Raw & Smackdown on WWE's YouTube channel and having no crowd is surreal. The audience is as much of a character as the performers themselves are and the lack of crowd interaction is strange. My idea: Kill in-ring promos if there is no crowd. Go backstage only. Missy
I find I'm liking the lack of an audience for some of the promos. Edge from last week, Orton from last night, and Cena from two weeks ago (?) were much more real to me. The wrestling aspect is very odd though. Professor
Two things from Night 1 of Wrestlemania. 1) AJ/Taker was fun. I mean, it wasn't over the top a la Lucha Underground. Really wasn't as over the top as the TNA Deletions. But it was something different than a quiet arena. And Undertaker didn't have to wrestle. Wins all around. 2) Ladder Matches without crowd noise are somehow worse, even if the stunts aren't as dangerous. Just clearly hearing the clicking and clacking of the ladders, even hearing them slide on the mat, adds a realism I don't think I want. Professor
WWE is currently releasing talent due to reasons. Released: Kurt Angle, Aiden English, Drake Maverick, Heath Slater, Lio Rush, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Eric Young Curt Hawkins, EC3, Sarah Logan & most shocking to me, Mike Chioda. And while I went to bathroom, more added. Erick Rowan, Primo, Epico & producers Lance Storm and Shane Helms. Edit as soon as I hit post: Add Mike Bennett & Maria to the list. And Fit Finlay. Edit part 2: Zack Ryder. & No Way Jose. What interests me is Lio Rush in particular. He publicly talked about not working until conditions improve. And with the company 'respecting the wishes of those that wish stay home', it sends a conflicting message.
dc20willsave
Here's what annoys the crap out of me with all of this (and yeah, part of this is the socialist in me) is that this also includes furloughs for a number of employees throughout the company. The total savings: $4 Million a month which yeah, is a bit of change. What isn't is the 500 Million the company has in cash reserves with no debt in addition to an expectation to turn a profit this year and 18.5 Million it donated a few weeks ago to a political campaign I'm not going to name here but we all know who. Oh, and after the XFL failed a SECOND time, filing for bankruptcy. So yeah, I hope AEW and TNA scoop up whoever they can. I hope the talent left chooses not to renew their contracts when they wrap-up. For a company that's already tone-deaf as all hell, somehow WWE keeps finding new ways to suck. James D.
And Vince is now an adviser to Trump. Like, why not just put up a giant neon sign that reads, "WE WANT SAUDI MONEY"?

Like, why not just put up a giant neon sign that reads, "WE WANT SAUDI MONEY"? They did that in 2018 - keep up! But the whole thing is sickening, especially so soon after Vince, through Linda and her Trup Super PAC, basically bribes Florida to let them continue to film in the Performance Centre. Linda McMahon was in the cabinet for a couple years. If you had told me in 2010 that a member of the McMahon family would wind up in a cabinet-level position, I would have thought you were crazy. Linda would have been the least unlikely, because she was running for the U.S. Senate at that point, but still.

Professor
The Money is the Bank 'match' was trash. But you know what was not trash? Xavier Woods & Cesaro talking about Rick Rude being atomic dropped on this past Friday's UpUpDownDown video. Then Cesaro taking an atomic drop in his match with Jeffy Hardy on the preshow and trying to channel Rick Rude. He didn't go full Rude, but who can? Professor
I knew WCW had comics. I did not know WCW 2000 had comics. I question who is the 5th man? Sting, Nash, Hart & Goldberg are obvious. I have an idea, but not sure. What say you?
