JasonC
I have just attempted to read the Michael Moorcock Doctor Who tie in novel. I made it through three chapters before giving up.

Venneh
Bit more detail So, wait. I thought the Ponds were officially off the Tardis with "The God Complex". Are they coming back on?
JasonC
I have just attempted to read the Michael Moorcock Doctor Who tie in novel. I made it through three chapters before giving up. Was it that bad? Not exactly bad. Weird. Like 'dropped at least two tabs of acid' weird. Well written.... but seriously out-there weird. Even for DW. I just couldn't stick with it. Stavros
So, I'm just going to start dismissing Who Christmas specials as syrupy nonsense every year. Glad I missed watching it live this year, it was exactly the sort of thing I'd have been embarrassed to watch with my family and made my like of the show seem silly to them. JasonC
I watched it live with some relatives. The effects were crap, the acting was horrible and the script - if you can call it that - was just awful. I stopped trying to defend it halfway through. Venneh
It was cute. That's really about all I have to say about it. I stopped trying to make sense of it halfway through, and I think my eyes about rolled out of my head when they went the whole mum route at the end and the lovelight ~saved~ him/
dc20willsave
So, I guess the more regenerations that the Doctor uses up, the more immune he is to death by falling. Ten fell out of a plane and was only in slight pain. Eleven freefalls out of Orbit and is just a little dizzy.,
Missy
I love it for its sappiness and doggy effects. And I think we've met our post-Ponds companion.
Venneh
One of the family? I think that could be awesome. Maybe the kids.
Missy
Based on their final exchange, I'm thinking it'll be Madge. That said, I'd rather have a humanoid companion (e.g. Nyssa, Turlough) over a strictly human one, but if said human companion is from the past, I would be happy with that. dc20willsave
I doubt it would be Madge. She's a mom. I can't realistically see her leaving her kids, even if they have their father, to travel with the Doctor. That said, I could see one of the kids, when they're older, traveling with the Doctor. Madge calls The Doctor in to help the Family in the 50s. One or both of the kids decides they want to go with the Doctor. I might like the dynamic of the Doctor traveling with Siblings. Missy
Sibling companions would be interesting. However, if we do jump ahead at least 12 years, as you suggested, Madge could go 'cause her children would then be adults.
Delete
I seriously doubt we see Madge ever again

KnightWing
So, I guess the more regenerations that the Doctor uses up, the more immune he is to death by falling. Ten fell out of a plane and was only in slight pain. Eleven freefalls out of Orbit and is just a little dizzy., He mentioned that the suit was "repairing" him after his fall. So apparently he was hurt, but the suit kept him alive somehow. I loved the bit at the end with the Doctor being uncomfortable with his emotions and the concept of family. Missy
More than their final exchange, the reason I think Madge will be the next companion is because she took encountering an alien all too well. A woman from 1938 should not have been that calm about a man who fell to Earth. So I'm thinking she might be like Turlough: an alien hiding here for one reason or another. dc20willsave
Thinking of showing a good bad story to some friends. Any recommendations? I would try and cut it down myself but there are so many good choices.
