Donomark
Awesome, she deserves more time as The Master. Second'D
JasonC
Why did that get spoilered?
dc20willsave
Because it's casting news for a character that was presumed dead and then the episode titles which even that can be considered a tad spoilery.
Missy
Thanks to Will for sharing this with me.

Donomark
Wowzers...poor Bonnie Langford. Should blame go to JNT, or the individual writers?
Dan
All of the above. Season 24 was a fucking mess for many, many reasons. That report spells it out: it's not just "The BBC hated the show". The UK television audience in general just plain did not like it anymore.
Donomark
Well I can imagine in the minds of the viewers the show kept pissing them off. First Tom Baker leaves, which I have to imagine wouldn't have been totally unexpected but still hard for the younger viewers. Then they crowd the TARDIS. Then they shove out an "American" companion who's annoying. Then they cast a mean Doctor who tries to kill her. Then they saddle the show with boring-ass scripts. Then they cast Bonnie Langford. Then they commission "Time and the Rani". I'm not gonna leap onto the JNT hatedom bandwagon, but I can follow the logic that he lead to the downfall of the show. Pan-dub
So Jenna Coleman was going to quit...
Donomark
The season really was kind of a build-up to her leaving. Honestly most of the time the show felt like it was more about her than the Doctor f'I'm being honest.
Koete
I'm glad she's sticking around another season. They really turned her character around, but the Danny Pink story kinda fizzled out. Hopefully they can give her a better send-off and put more of The Doctor in there at the same time.
Dan
"Rose" premiered 10 years ago today. To compare in terms of old school Who, Jon Pertwee would be heading into his final season.
slothian
And on that basis, an essay on Nine being the best. I think it overstates a few aspects, but it's nice to hear Eccleston getting some love every now and then.
Missy
I think I need to implement a filter, so that anytime anyone writes "Pertwee" it comes up as "Pertwee ."Also, wow!
Koete
Maisie Williams will be guest starring this season.
Dan
Also, it may just be the wording of the press release, but it sounds like two of the episodes will be historicals.

Koete
There's going to be an episode with Osgood and Zygons.
Dan
Has there been a significant character death in the Moffat era which hasn't been undone? I guess this could be the Zygon Osgood, and truth be told I like Osgood a lot and am not sorry to hear she's coming back, but death has no stakes in Doctor Who anymore.
