JackFetch
I doubt that this is the only version we see. If I remember correctly, he is supposed to have different modes. Maybe this is combat or stealth. My problem is that it looks more like a man in armor, rather than a robot man. In the original version of the script he goes through different versions the way Iron Man does and gets smaller and more human-like as they perfect the technology. KnightWing
It's going to have to depend on how it all works in the movie. Maybe he moves more robotically, maybe the cinematography shows the suit in a different light. Hell, maybe there's an arc where he has to rediscover his humanity despite being a cyborg, and that more human-like suit is toward the end of that arc. Molly
It's very... Chris Nolan Bats.
damndirtyape
There is a strange tendency for films of this genre to take cues from other recent popular film designs. It's part batman, part snake eyes no Robocop. There doesn't seem to be anything fresh looking about it at all. Granted it's only one photo and it's in no way a finished product. It could be a costume that is only seen for a few seconds or minutes in the final film. The point is the original was such an iconic look, that this version seems like it needs to up it's game. Hopefully it has more to offer than this.
Stavros
I did just notice that the right hand is still human. Echoes of the moment in the original where they debate saving his arm?
Professor
Based on how the costume is above the hand, I imagine that the hand can be retracted and he has a Mega Man energy cannon. Because why not at this point.
Molly
It's funny, because I was literally thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure it'll be CGed out.

dc20willsave
it looks more like a mook in a video game than the main character of a film franchise.
Professor
Why do I get the feeling that the top of that helmet is going to light up at some point?

prez
See, now I want William Daniels to voice Robocop.
Professor
New look ED-209. It looks like it is sticking its tongue out at me.
Missy
This looks awesome!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INmtQXUXez8Granted, it doesn't look like it will have the satire of the original, but that's fine if they can make me buy this world. Dan
On the one hand, RoboCop without the satire doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. On the other hand, I DON'T CARE EXCUSE ME MGM I WOULD LIKE THAT NOW PLEASE
Delete
I don't know if we watched the same thing but that looked horrific to me.
Missy
I see everyone on Facebook and Twitter reacting the same as you, and I don't get it. I mean, I respect your opinion, but, for me, the action looks tight; I dig the story they're going for; and it has Jackie Earle Haley, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, and Michael Keaton. I just can't imagine it being anything but exciting.
slothian
I couldn't imagine Spider-Man III being anything but exciting when I saw the trailers.

Dan
This is obviously not going to be an al time classic, but it looks to scratch the same itch Dredd was made for as well.
Professor
I was not a fan of a remake and that trailer did nothing to change my mind. Of the changes that I noticed, I cannot say that I liked any them. Yeah, I hold the original in high regard and that is probably playing a part. But, it still just looks like Iron Man armor to me (specially with the flip down helmet) than being a cyborg.
Koete
It doesn't look as bad as the NOES remake, so there's that. But I'm not impressed with the story changes either. And ED-209 isn't stop-motion.
KnightWing
I hold the first Robocop in very high regard. That being said, this looks AWESOME. Like Dan said, it might fit in that Dredd category of simple fun. I hope it turns out well. Hell, if the story is halfway-decent but the action is as good as it looks, I'll be pleased. Delete
My favorite part is how his body is burned but not his face. Which you'll see the entire time.
KnightWing
Maybe it was burned, but they surgically fixed that part of him up. He is meant to be an icon, after all.
