  1. I like it, but then I freely admit I like bad TV. I own both seasons of Dark Angel.
  2. That pretty much sums up what I felt about that book. Vapid exploitative nonsense.
  3. Capitalism! The natural foe of the billionaire... Nah, his real foe is social issues... Or maybe his own libido... His own failings as a parent?
  4. Yeah, 'cause that whole "Look, we're in an invisible tent for months" deal really needs at least 45 minutes in the film, its pivotal.
  5. I guess X-force sort of interests me but thats really something to look into after I decide to get the current big x-men story since thats what its spinning out of.
  6. I think Fray was just a short project for him, I don't think given the variety of his projects that he ever really plans to be held down with an ongoing. Astonishing X-men of course was a unique oppertunity but even so he's leaving to do other things already. I'm not sure that his run on Buffy will last past 20-25 issues. He's not a full-time comics writer. Wow, this was a while back but since it was bumped I wanted to mention how awesome it is that historical goodies mentioned in Fray are starting to happen as plots in Buffy Season 8, ie

  8. It was totally wrong but everything else in the book was done right so on the basis that Bat's might be done here I'll still buy the book. Its a pretty harsh retelling of the time when Robin and Batman split. It should have been Robin walking out on Bat's for using harsh methods, not Batman beating up a child and dumping them out on the street.
  9. If the Iron Man suit had nipples you'd at least be sure they did something awesome, like shoot lasers or create a force field.
  10. Everything Figure4, so- Bryan & Vinny show F4W Daily Adam & Mike Audio Nightmare Karl Stern Dr Keith But not 5 Star. Couglin jumped off a cliff with a UFC show review recently. I figure between my subscription there and Earth-2 I couldn't find the time to listen to anything more.
  11. Its funny, I only stopped procrastinating about doing this was in order to avoid doing real work.

  13. I'd quite like them to remake Rocky with MMA instead of boxing. Only in about 10 years when MMA is really accepted, but I think thats the natural update.
  14. I really didn't hate Daredevil. Of course it was flawed, and in some areas very Crow-lite, but at the same time it was packed with nice references to classic DD moments and the fight sequences were really good aside from the final one with the Kingpin, and even then I don't really know how I'd go about improving that. Plus I hear the Directors Cut removes the utterly needless fireside love scene. Of course I really liked Hulk as well so how much can you trust me? Mutant poodles and fuzzy incompehensible endings aside, it was packed with unique style and was much closer to how the hulk should be on screen than I thought they would get. I also thought Superman Returns was good. OK, maybe there was too much liberty taken with the basic settings of a Superman story but I can't fault the performances or the modern CGI realisation of the Man of Steel. The whole plane catching sequence was jaw dropping. I do hope that the next film introduces a classic villian besides Lex though. Not that Lex shouldn't be in it. I am going to say- 10. 300 9. Ghost in the Shell 8. Batman 7. Batman Returns 6. Blade 5. The Crow 4. Sin City 3. X-Men 2 2. Batman Begins 1. Spider-man 2 Sue me, I liked the Tim Burton Batman. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have realised there was anything but the old 60's series.
  15. "So, about Spider-man.." "Oo? Zere iz no crilly 'ere"
  16. Thing is that all this can be explained by the DC Countdown tie-in issue in which Supermanboy Prime comes to the 616 reality during his search for his own earth and decides to punch it. Unfortunatly as per usual DC's Countdown stuff is massively out of sync with all the rest of comics and so One More Day spoiled the whole deal. On the upside Ben Reilly is back. On the downside the issue is currently written on a beermat that feel down the back of Paul Dini's desk.
  17. Just in time, I was about to go away for the weekend with work. This should help keep me awake on the journey.
  18. Resident Evil being one of the RARE exceptions. In what way are any of the three Resident Evil movies any good? One of my housemates made me sit down and watch the first two in a row. Some of the cinematography in the first was pretty cool but overall I felt justified in accusing him of mind-rape.
  19. I tend to prefer the Green Arrow/Batman dynamic. They are both non-powered rich kids but aside from that they are completly different people, they clash in so many more interesting ways, especially when they spot any remote similarity in the other. Hal's just a bit bland for me.
  20. Well, i'm into Daredevil, Iron Fist, Green Lantern and that type of action sci-fi stuff. And for cartoons Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends Camp Lazlo Invader zim and the DCAU and that type of stuff. Oh no, you won't fit in here at all  Not being a huge Manga guy I can't help you much in that area, although the Battle Royale series is a good compliment to the book and film. As far as Anime goes the two series that I enjoy most are Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Both contain a certain amount of introspective philosophy but this is balanced out nicely by big cyber punk violence/giant scientific creations fighting supernatural invaders. I'd highly advise checking both out. Gits:SAC is probably the most beautifully animated series I've ever seen. All that being said I'm sure there are other members of the forum who will be much more helpful. I'm always interested in new recommendations myself.
  21. I like Aqualad's horrifically pale pallor.
  22. And Randy Couture! Wrong sequel. Although it is interesting that the spinoff Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian is out the same year as Mummy III. Since one is (I would hope) straight to video I'm betting they won't try to cultivate any association between the two. DKR, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Hellboy II, Indy IV and Star Trek have me pumped, but right now I'm mostly waiting on the UK release of Juno in Feb. Diary of the Dead? That looks interesting. I'm astonished that its an indy film but I guess he won't have trouble with a distributor or finance.
  23. So...who read this and your thoughts?
