JackFetch
Tomorrowland is Disney's biggest flop since The Lone Ranger. Sci-fi adventure may reportedly lose the studio upwards of $140 million. Source i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that nobody knew what it was about. The trailers were just confusing. Koete
Anyone watching True Detective this season? I'm in for Colin Farrell being utter human garbage, but three episodes into catching up on the first season and there is a clear quality difference. Donomark
I'M DOWN. At least it's not what I feared worst in Stallone fighting in the ring AGAIN.

dc20willsave
Harry Shearer is not leaving The Simpsons after all. I can't wait until a few years after the show is finally over and we hear how much Fox ended up giving him to stay.
slothian
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the service I receive from Amazon Prime video, but I will be the first to admit that it doesn't have the deepest of libraries. So when they send out an email proclaiming their pride in securing the streaming rights to 'What a Girl Wants', one of the worst in-flight movies I've ever had the misfortune to experience, I know that they're scraping the barrel a bit. slothian
Change your question mark to a full stop and remove the word 'What,' from the sentence to confirm my answer. There's simply no way Colin Firth would spawn someone as messed up as Amanda Bynes
KnightWing
That movie was a lot better when Amanda Bynes was still human.

JackFetch
The Last Starfighter is being made into a tv show. I can't wait to be let down by how shitty it is.

I fucking love that movie even today, and it still holds up unlike the rest of my cinematic childhood.

dc20willsave
It was the 80s. Very few people could afford the good stuff then. It was a new thing.
Koete
I watched Soylent Green for the first time last night and was really impressed by it. One of its biggest strengths, which is dictated by the premise really, is that the future doesn't look very sci-fi. It taps into the "present day, but further downhill" aesthetic that made Blade Runner so stunning a decade later. Another is that Charlton Heston's character Thorn really feels like someone who grew up during these conditions and has a completely different worldview. From little things like his reaction to seeing a bar of soap to how he behaves around people while doing his job, the characterization helps the world feel like a fully realized one. Edward G. Robinson's death scene is hauntingly beautiful and I loved how it was reused at the end. While there's the "Soylent Green is people" reveal that everyone knows, I think the darkest aspect of it is the role of women as literal pieces of furniture. I'm kind of amazed that such a perceptive metaphor for how society views women is in a film from 1973.

Dread
I wasn't a big fan of Birdman, Whatever are you talking about? I don't understand people when they don't use the full title of a film.
