ShaunKL
Well, the end of BSG Season 2 left me scratching my head. With any other show I'd expect a situation like this to be resolved via time travel. But this is BSG, so... The kick to One Year Later... was really... I don't know... jolting, and felt just plain odd. On a hilarious side note, the Adamas have a grooming crisis going on right now.
Venneh
You don't have to put anything in spoilers till the end of S3, really, cause most of us have watched through it all (though I don't know how much Jack's seen). Also, as for the spoiler: You'll get flashbacks to various points during that one year skip during S3.
ShaunKL
Cool, something to remind me of LOST.
Venneh
I have no clue about Lost, but it's done in a way that makes sense within the plot of the episodes.
dc20willsave
One thing that I would suggest between season 2 and 3 is watching the webisode series, The Resistance. If you're watching it on DVD it's on the set. If not, then you can find it online if you google it. It's not absolutely necessary to watch it but it does add to the overall story. Stavros
Brazil- First time I've actually properly tried to watch this. Worth it in the first five minutes for this exchange- "See you Jack, give my regards to Alison and the twins" "Triplets" "Triplets? God, how time flies" Also, aside from the cast being awesome, they've got Skutters from Red Dwarf.

The Battlestar page also contains some images for the other webisode series, "The Face Of The Enemy" and it has a slight spoiler there. Koete
John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) - Probably old news, but a great sci-fi horror. Almost thirty years later and the alien effects are still some of the most gruesome and imaginative to be put on film. Gattaca (1997) - I'm conflicted on this film, and I hate being conflicted about films. One one hand, it's well shot, the performances are solid, and there is clearly craft to it (the staircase symbolism and the contrast between Hawke and Law's characters specifically). But...I also have issues with it. Some are minor like the use of narration, but there's also several conveniences and twists that I find detract from the film. I think it's a good film, I just can't decide how good I think it is. Punch-Drunk Love (2002) - Adam Sandler meets art house. Well made cinematically, but I think the "unrealistic weirdo finds love" story has become cliche by this point.
Koete
Cemetery Man (1994) - A wonderfully bizarre horror film. The original Italian title is Dellamorte Dellamore, which translates to "of death of love," which perfectly describes the mix of themes in this tale of a cemetery where the dead come back seven days after they die and the caretaker who puts them back in the grave. I get enough spoilers knowing who's going to live and die by looking at the season dvd covers, so I'll just stick with getting disc 2 via netflix. Also, the more and more I think about this plot twist, the more I'm really not liking it.
Venneh
Hoo boy. If you're not liking the twists now, it's going to be interesting to see what you think once you hit S3 and S4. Just saying. Also, watching Indecision '08. Oh, nostalgia.
Missy
Before I start editing Earth-2.net: The Show 425, I wanted to relax and watch a little Back to the Future, and I noticed something for the first time. After Biff has the car towed back to the McFly home and is done making fun of George, Biff looks at Marty with a bit of regret. If you really pay attention to his face (RE: the acting), specifically right before he says "Say hi to your mom for me," he seems to be honestly bothered that Marty isn't his son with Lorraine. Venneh
And now, New Frontier! God, I forgot how bloodily awesome this is. Also, Nine. ...After watching 8 1/2, this seems like a far less subtle version of that, which is basically what the musical intended to do. Not quite sure how to feel about this. And now, Ponyo, which makes cup noodles look like food porn!
Guest
Behind the Mask: Rise of Leslie Vernon This is my first time watching this. Considering the hype, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I can't help but be a little disappointed. It felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be, or maybe, even worse, knew exactly what it wanted to be, and it wanted to be too many things. I'll probably like it more with a second viewing. Venneh
Current Halloween marathon plans: -It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown - classic, man. -Psycho - noticed a lot of things I didn't the first time around, more awesome now that I don't have to do it for a class. Also, still fucking terrifying. -Et2S 425: Saw VII - gotta listen to this on principle. -Hard Candy - still, and probably always will be, unbelievably hard to watch -Paranormal Activity - still fucking terrifying -Paranormal Activity 2 - ladies and gentlemen, we may do indeed have something even more frightening here than the original -The Walking Dead - and now, more nightmare fodder - little girl zombies! -Rocky Horror - LET'S DOOO THE TIME WARP AGAIN! (2 4 6 8, show us how to masturbate!) -Rosemary's Baby We'll see how late this takes me, I have to do that whole school thing tomorrow. It combined the elements of a slasher film and a documentary to create the best meta-fictional horror film produced yet.
Venneh
I heartily approve of the countdown till Micah death in Paranormal Activity 2. Jesus, this might actually be scarier than the first one. EDIT: Oh dear fucking Christ. This IS scarier than the first one. And there's still a half hour left. EDIT EDIT: Oh. No way. No. Fucking. Way. They did not just... Hoooooly shit. Has anyone else besides me seen this? And, ladies and gentlemen, The Walking Dead is zombies done RIGHT. And ungodly terrifying, too. The little girl zombie and the first real zombie we see? Nightmare fuel! And if a zombie apocalypse does ever happen, may I be with someone who loves me enough to put me down if I get bitten. HORSEY NOOOOOOOOOOO PS: Suave, if you Suave Rocky Horror, I will be dissapoint.

The performances were fantastic, but to go from blatant comedy to "OMG this guy that's been telling us for weeks about how he's going to kill people is actually going to kill people!?!" completely took me out of the movie. Like I said, I'm willing to give it another shot, but it didn't work for me the first time.

ShaunKL
Goody goody, more Chuck. The twist with Shaw's wife was pretty cool, but I'm not digging his insanely fast character turn-around. NO Superman! Don't kill Miranda!
slothian
I finished Season 2 as part of my House marathon. I'd put it above the first season, and of the four I've already seen, I can only see Season 4 matching it. I'm not looking forwards to Season 3 as I remember hating the Tritter story arc and finding the rest of the season fairly uninteresting until the final episode. Venneh
So, after watching the two Paranormal Activity movies back to back, I have come to this conclusion: All the men in this movieverse are the biggest egotistic douchebags ever. SuaveStar
Rocky Horror Picture Show I didn't think it was possible, but this film had too much Tim Curry. All in all, the biggest letdown for a film I've had in 2010.
Missy
Suave, did you watch Rocky Horror with an interactive crowd? 'Cause that's the only way to see it. It's a shit movie otherwise.
